Regardless of whether he should or shouldn't be sacked, I can't remember the last time I saw a manager perform as badly in comparison to the club's expectations and not lose his job. It's just so rare nowadays for someone underperforming that badly to not lose his job. You might understand it if Bartley had a great CV to buy him some time, or that it wasn't his players and he had the 'judge me when it's my team' excuse, but neither is the case.

He must be on a tidy salary if the board are still reluctant to sack him due to the cost of a pay-off. Or they have an incredible level of faith in someone who has done nothing to earn that faith.

Our board will happily allow him to drive us over the cliff before they decide to address the situation.

It is just not in their make up to take evasive action, to avoid the catastrophe that everyone else can see coming from a long way out.

The late 80s- duking it out with East Stirlingshire at the bottom of the old second division- probably worse, but that’s going back a long way now.

The late, great, Willliam Harkness will feel his inept stewardship of the club has a challenger too.

Don’t know if it actually means anything nowadays but we’re listed as the ‘home’ team for the Switzerland and Hungary games. Wouldn’t have thought Navy v Red was too much of a clash anyway, although I’m not colourblind so I could be way off the mark.

We wore the away kit v Norway, Spain and Georgia in the qualifiers. Albeit with white shorts rather than the blue ones that was the supposed colour of shorts for the away kit.

I would imagine we will wear the away kit probably v Switzerland.

The two of us have no tickets and we are both off that day but I am still not hopefully of any.

If somebody is selling 4 tickets will you have to buy the 4?

To be honest I am not sure. However, I think youwill be able to.. I can’t see why anyone would decline a sale of two hoping to punt them all in a oner.

It's worth having all the information you might need ready before the sale starts. Last Euros they only gave you a few minutes to secure the tickets, and they asked for things like passport numbers, although a friend tells me you can make up any old numbers and it's fine. ;)

    😂

Kick em in the fckn bollocks.

But I have no idea hoe to do it, except maybe restrict numbers in one order? 2 or 3 maybe, I dunno.

Yeah, restricting numbers would be an idea. Having to physically upload photo id and address details might help to slow things down too.

Just praying some Italian or someone has Scotland Swiss tickets and doesn't want to go, and get first in the queue.

Can see touts trying to grab even more now too though.

    Me too.

I think every man and their dog is wanting the Swiss game tickets. it seems that more than the opener and the Hungary game.

I was quite optimistic until I remembered about the touts. Not sure what they can do to stop them. Maybe something to try and slow them down a bit.

Realistically? nothing! doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be open to interest if it somehow arises that some tycoon really likes the name of the club!

Or some film star as per Wrexham. It does seem unlikely though.

Mind you a well crafted email to Ryan Reynolds asking if he “has a mate” that might be interested, could tip the balance.

Less money required to get to the Scottish Premiership, than Wrexham to get to the English top flight, so you never know. We could be a bargain for somebody.

A cool 50 Million and we would challenging for a place in Europe again. Hahaha.

Anyone tried logging in to the UEFA ticket portal and just staying there? Might get past the queue.

I don’t think that will work. They haven’t sent any pre-notification emails yet. You would think they will do that a few days in advance.

I am off for the next week, albeit in a different time zone. I am hoping it will be soon though, so I have time to spend on it, before I go back to work.

2024 Adidas kits starting to be leaked. I really hope ours are better than these, cos these are all howling, they look like training kits from 2009. The newish Adidas logo is horrible as well, every time they've changed it from the trefoil its gotten worse.

They may be better in the flesh but on first look not great. The two Germany kits look the best of them though.

It was obviously a lucky combination in qualifying but unlucky at the tournaments.

I’m with @HighlandWarrior in that being my favourite combination.

The away kits from 79 -85 were glorious.

Red tops, navy shorts and white socks. If adidas made a similar away kit to either of them for us that would be glorious.

Really? I've been surprised in Germany about the amount of places that were cash only. Last time I was in Berlin was just before Covid, so maybe it's changed since. I was in Munich at the end of last year and a lot more places were taking card, but nowhere was card only.

I was in Munich for a stag do last April and most places we went to took cash and cards. Never had any issues in bars and restaurants.

The wife and I have a Halifax credit card that we only use for holidays. So I used that.

It offers no fee ATM withdrawals or point of sale transactions. I just top loaded it before I went and I don’t think there was much if anything to pay when I came back. I can only remember withdrawing Euros once when we were there 4 nights. I think that was to give somebody a sub.

The Post Office do a decent holiday pre-pay Mastercard too,  Just load it up with Euros and away you go.

What a useless shower and an imposter of a Manager. Still not beaten anybody at home other than Annan or Edinburgh. Are you kidding me?

Annan get late equaliser at Falkirk.

    No surprises.

We have a shit team and a shit manager. All of them are out of their depth.

Just logged out of my account and got straight into a waiting room with a very slow queue, probably leading nowhere.

Yeah that happens to me too. Not too fussed at this moment in time though.

I wonder how long they will keep the reseller portal open? Hopefully, there will be  a few windows of opportunity before the tournament starts.

I am keeping my hopes up that I luck out and get a couple of tickets for the Swiss game. If not, it is stub hub or the like for me.

  15. 37 minutes ago, GH Staggie said:

Just noticed, it looks like you can now add tickets to the resell site if you are looking to get rid of any. Not sure if you can buy any yet though.

Is this a different link to the original ticket portal?

Not being 100% pick up might work against those on lower points.

I would have thought they would be e-tickets now with no need for a physical pick up.

I thought that is maybe why they were going on about checking who had been scanned into the stadium.

Very worrying times - we are coming to a huge crossroads in the history of the club. Take the wrong turning now and it could be trips to CD and Dalbeattie.

Have to hope that the guys will find good solid replacements. It should not be forgotten that the current BOD stabilised the financial position and not only kept us financially secure but presided over a very “purple spell” when we won promotion and competed at the top end of an ultra competitive Championship league.

The retention of FT football in L1 cannot be sustained on a long term basis without very deep pockets - so some huge challenges ahead for the club.

It shouldn’t be worrying times. I prefer to look upon it as an opportunity for the club to move onward and upward.

The outgoing board have done a lot of good for the club and that shouldn’t be forgotten. However, the current decline both on and off of the pitch has taken place under their stewardship.

So before I get dewey eyed about their departure I remind myself of where we currently find ourselves in the league. The supporters that have stopped going and the neglected state of Palmerston, which is becoming a poignant monument to the last years of their reign.

The fact that volunteers were pulling out weeds the height of Lyndon Dykes last summer is embarrassing. Relying on young and old supporters to go and paint rotten wood work is disgraceful for any professional club. Let alone one that’s Chairman owns a construction firm.

Then of course the PR disasters with SLOs and the George Galloway affair.

As the years past they seem to have grown comfortable doing the bare minimum and sometimes not even that. That is why I suspect a significant chunk of our support no longer attend.

This isn’t the time to worry about what might happen without our security blanket. Its a time to be optimistic about the future without it.

Disappointing that only 5% of your fans have bothered watching it.

Even more disappointing is that we will only have about 5% of their fan base in a couple of years time at this rate.

Still, at least that will keep us warm when we are holding on to  1-1 at home to Stirling Uni. Probably played at Dumfries High School as Palmerston will have been sold for housing.

Indeed. That was the spark that ignited where we are now (not just top of the league, but fam ownership et al)

With the usual disclaimer that Arse Cheek fans are exempt from this sentiment, I don't like to see Football fans being taken for mugs, and really enjoy to see them flex their muscles when the chips are really down.

Unfortunately, the further down the leagues you get, the less you can afford the inevitable loss of fans to apathy before reaching the point of enough is enough and taking action.

Way too many in charge of football clubs take the hard earned gate money of fans for granted, and the worst of them start firing the blame our way when the well runs dry.

I have a lot of admiration for Falkirk fans, you can add Morton, Partick and Dundee in there too in times of trouble. Their fans generally hound the board to get change.

I don’t mean by turning up to their home or threatening them, but in way that makes life uncomfortable at games/ in the local media/at AGMs.

The likes of what you talk about above, does eventually result in change. You take that sort of action away, and you would just accept the decline. It shows your fans care.

For me, I don’t think we have that sort of spark/fight in our fans (or not enough) to do something like that, and I include myself in that.

Our protests tend to be silent. The odd grumble on here, or just not going to games anymore. That should be more of a worry to the board, because the fans lost invariably don’t come back.
