    Genuine question:

What would you be looking for the board to do differently, that would impact on performance on the field?  What would be the nature of such protest?

Ok. A simple answer to that is to properly fund a full-time team in the third tier of Scottish football.

Secondly, have a budget that can maintain a stadium the  is at least 50 years past its sell by date.

If they can’t do that admit it and advertise for investors.

of course if that is unrealistic let things go on as they are. Would it be so bad being a a middling side in the South of Scotland league.?

for me that is the two scenarios, but if I am wrong, I am happy to listen to alternative options.

    They certainly are not.

They have backed the last 2 Managers with funds for recruitment.  Sadly, both Managers haven't got it right.

You may well have been around in that era, I don't know, I certainly was and can assure you there is no comparison.

    I disagree.

They are have presided over years of failure. neglect  both on and off of the pitch. You just need to look at where we are in the league and the state of the ground.

At this rate we will be in the South of Scotland league within three or four years.

  3. More rumours of Putin kicking the bucket today. Hopefully, that is the case, although the Kremlin is denying it.

I reckon a man as vain as him would want the full Red Square send off, in the style of the Soviet leaders of the 80’s and 90’s. So hopefully, it will be confirmed, rather than the Kremlin hiding the news.  ‘Mon  Kremlin bods, make it happen.

  4. Just booked the flights. Edinburgh via Heathrow to Cologne on Saturday 15 June for a week.

Not sure where to stay yet. Cologne and Düsseldorf look good for a few nights. However, that’s for another day.

A quick look at hotel prices and my debit card retreated back into my wallet for the night.

Almost exactly 10 years ago we actually beat Croatia 2-0, albeit it was a dead rubber.

You could make a case for a few of those players getting into the current team, but we're clearly stronger now.

    Allan McGREGOR

    Alan HUTTON

    Charlie MULGREW

    Russell MARTIN

    Grant HANLEY

    Barry BANNAN

    Scott BROWN (C)

    James MORRISON

    Steven NAISMITH

    Robert SNODGRASS

    Ikechi ANYA

Ikechi Anya. That is a blast from the past.

He started brightly, but faded away almost as quickly as he arrived.

  6. France and South Africa up next. Hopefully, this one gives us as much entertainment as last night’s  game.

i will be flicking between this and the Norway - Spain game, but I reckon this will be a better watch.

All that shite about Wales actually being brilliant and the people moaning about the draw knowing nothing, and they get knocked out by a team that got bitched by 14 man England.

    Deeeelicious.

Are they any better than they were in the last 6 nations? I don’t thinks so. However to listen to various commentators they are on the road to greatness.

Let’s be honest, they had one good win against a rock bottom Australia and that was it.

These are the current pot projections.

Looking at these, I wouldn’t say there’s a significant advantage to being pot 2 over pot 3. If Croatia drop any more points then we will likely have a 50/50 chance of drawing a team who are clearly better than us from pot 3. I’d genuinely fancy our chances against the pot 2 teams more.

I would welcome that first column as a group. Germany, Hungary, us and Finland. Yes, please!

Even forgetting the McTominay goal, the we were up against it all game from that ref.

The McGinn one in the first half not being given, the Patterson booking, just an absolute abomination of a performance

The Dykes booking was harsh too.

Will there be money put towards redevelopment of Hampden as a result of this?

I don’t think so. I am sure when there was chat of bidding for The World Cup there was talk of maybe renovating. However, that was dropped when the bid for the Euros was submitted.

The qualifying format seems really quite reasonable.  2 guaranteed slots seems fair given Ukraine/Poland and Belgium/Holland in the past.  England will waltz their group, and if we're not qualifying directly we only need to be above a maximum of 2 of Wales/ROI/NI (most likely 1 of ROI and Wales since NI look incapable of beating anyone).

Euro 2020 was a total damp squib because of COVID, but given we'll (presumably) get the away tournament out the system in Germany, a home tournament with a stronger team and without the absurdities of a Europe-wide competition, will be really rather good.

Agreed. This seems a fair way to do things. You would imagine England will qualify directly. I also think there is a good chance of one of us, Wales and RoI doing so as well. This leaving the safety net of two other spots.

I would imagine Nations League Plays Off will be a further chance to qualify as well. Given NI’s slide of late, a drop into the bottom league might not be a bad thing for them.
