This advice is too late now but when I got lucky in the last resale I went on exactly at the start of the sale. Quite a few people seem to have had that or a similar experience. This time I thought I'd follow the advice and get on early, I clicked on at 1015 and so far my progress bar is only about quarter along. Might just be coincidence, or maybe going early is a disadvantage.

I think it's random. I did well last time going on exactly at opening time so tried it again and I'm still at about 20% in the queue.

P.S. Opening time was 10am UK time, 11 am CET.

  2. Listen to this c**t on another forum, logged on about 5 minutes after me CET time and I don't even have a countdown yet.

Was really lucky I got in the Portal at about 11:15 on my 2nd phone, I only clicked the link at 11:05 it really is just luck if you get a slot.
Managed to get a cheap England v Serbia so might be able offload my Prime ticket for that match.
Also got Turkey v Georgia in Dortmund cat 3 restricted views.
Both R16 matches in Dortmund and Gelschekirchen Cat 3 restricted views.
Two Cat 3 restricted view Final tickets.

So tickets to 7 matches now. Good luck to anyone still trying.

There was an Elgin fan here saying how everyone associated with Elgin FC hate Stranraer and would gladly see them slip into the Lowland League.

I'm sure you'll be able to find the post, it's not like it's the busiest section of P&B.

I think there has been a general dislike from day one in the HL when everyone objected to our very public statements  of ambition to get out of this league . It appears that is not the done thing in these parts.

Clubs have taken great delight in trying to keep us here for 3 seasons already.  Another one won't make any difference.

Constantly whining about how shit the Highland League is might have something to do with it. I'm not talking about all or most Brechin fans, its mainly you. I've enjoyed my trips down to Glebe Park and had a friendly reception, but it makes no odds to me whether you go or stay.

P.S. If you hadn't lost every game against your 2 closest rivals you'd be whining about getting pumped by some pretendy club like East Kilbride by now.

So, if both stand and Forbes wins..the Greens won't vote for her when it comes to Holyrood meaning she couldn't be FM.

Meanwhile if Swinney wins but does so by giving her a top Cabinet job (possibly deputy), the Greens again presumably can't vote it through at Holyrood.

So..is it not the case now that the Greens will only support a Swinney Coronation (which doesn't include Forbes in a top job)?

It's incredible that these cranks will continue to wield so much power and effectively get to decide who the FM is.

If they can't get a Candidate passed by Holyrood vote they have 28 days to put another one forward which the Greens can vote for.

I'm fairly confident the Greens would back an SNP Government with Swinney in charge and Forbes in a top role like business or something, so long as they didn't start cutting child benefits and banning abortion. Harvey and Slater wanted to stay on when they cut zero emission targets ffs.

  6. She should change her name to something like Zoozan Johnson. I worked for an alarm company years ago and a panic button went off in a South London Lecky Board shop. I ignored it because I knew there was an engineer doing tests, except it was another branch in South London. Got a phone call from a shaken shop manager saying there had been an armed robbery and when would the police arrive. Told him they were on their way, phoned the cops and told them that the alarm had just gone off. Managed to blag my way out the subsequent enquiry with some technical gobbledygook that I made up, effectively blaming the police.

Given the unbalanced nature of the Scottish news and their huge bias against independence alongisde the political apathy of most of the public, I think it's pretty rermarkable that Yes numbers have remained as high as they have.

Yup, considering polling for independence was only around 30% before the referendum and it's rarely dropped below 45% since, it shows that once people are persuaded of the case they seem to stay solid, no matter how the SNP are doing. Unfortunately the same seems to apply to the Unionists.

However a new leader is finally reached, get this pish about a 'coronation' stopped right now.

If there's a vote I hope they make it a much quicker process than last time, it would last right through to the Euros if they don't hurry it up. Even the candidates looked bored of their speeches and couldn't even be bothered arguing with each other by the end. Most of the hustings were for party insiders only, I certainly never got offered a ticket as a member.

I'm glad he is a compassionate sort, years later he would* now this is where things overlap.

He manages to cough up 750K to a Middle East bunch and suddenly his in-laws are released from a war zone.

Is this from the Spectator too? If you're talking about the Scot Gov grant it was given to the UN.

In 2013 he voted in principal for Civil Partnerships, four months later he was under the hair dryer and getting his nails done.

According to The Spectator, he was told about the vote and two days later decided he had other things to do.

He wasn't exactly getting his nails done, he was pleading for the life of somebody on death row. Anyway, there was zero chance of the bill not being passed, so even if it was convenient timing his vote would have made no difference.

Unexpected car trouble has put a bit of a dent in my budget (probably £400-£500), unfortunately 😭

Still got enough in the bank (albeit its looking likely ill be on my todd for it sadly, anyone id have gone with a decade ago is all grown up and its harder to coordinate this nonsense with my admittedly limited social circle as it is) so im determined im going somewhere tbh, got the time off and even if its just a wee cheap holiday abroad id be alright with something like sunning myself on a beach and then watching the tournament through the days/nights.

Problem being theres still loads of choice even on lastminute .com within budget...

Any particularly good recommendations in Spain, loads coming up in the usual Tenerifey places? Aware its vague but not even all that sure what I'd want 😂

Krakow still has some good deals on tbf. Afaik the Algarve and Siciliy are more geared to couples/families so im ruling them out for now.

Spain's usually too hot for me midsummer, Krakow sounds better. You might think about Berlin as hotels and flights haven't gone up too much, and you'd have the free fanzones and bars full of mad Turkish fans, in the place I'll be staying anyway. Gdansk might be another option in Poland, plenty nearby beaches if you want a change.

    P. S. If you still fancy Spain the North might be a bit cooler, and not full of families on holiday, Santiago de Compostella is the only place I know well but you have Bilbao etc too. Depends what you're after, they're not beach holidays. Might have to sort your own flights and accommodation out rather than using Last-minute. Com, I've heard of people getting shafted by them anyway.

LongTimeLurker quotes this on the Non League Matters forum:

More details of what unfolded from the Press & Journal:

Does this imply that all Highland League clubs must reach Bronze level licencing by the end of 2024/25? Anyone have any idea about this?
Presumably it would be really difficult for every club to achieve this level in 12 months, if at all?
Likewise will the Lowland League be bringing this requirement into its' rules and regs?
The other thing would be that such a requirement would reduce the numbers of Tier 6 clubs able to take promotion to the HL and the LL.
Hopefully someone will know different and apologies if I have read this wrongly !!

I can't read the LLM link, but no. The rule is that any tier 5 club with a chance of winning their league has to apply to the SPFL for a period of grace over upgrading to bronze by March 31st. Buckie missed that deadline. The word when they first announced the new rules was that the period of grace could be up to a year, so no need to spend money before promotion to the SPFL. The SFA might have got stricter about it, there seem to have been a few clubs struggling to find a club doctor so maybe there's less time given to sort that out.

Their general guide was to invite the runners up in either the HL/LL, and then changed it last season when they parachuted Cowdenbeath in from 15th in the league, seen as many as a punishment to tier 5 for knocking back the confidence league.

Or as a prezzie to Cowdenbeath for swaying the B-team vote.
