It all sounds a bit like eggs in one last basket to me. I’d have thought - although I have no expert knowledge - that a battery farm near a residential area wasn’t a sure fire planning consent bet and quite a risky move?

It was a winner for the club as they "owned" the land so it meant one less issue to deal with. However you are right in saying that trying to site this kind of scheme at this location was, on the face of it, daft and the club never really justified the loss of green space. That said, I do have some sympathy for them in that only a very small portion of the Fairways site would be lost to the development but they should have done a better job of arguing that point and that seems to be where the application fell down. The point about sledging though is ridiculous

Part-time football does not equate danger to the existence of a football club.

Until Inverness from board room level down accept the fundamental concept of actually paying out only what their own income generates and sucking up whatever level they end up playing at as a result, any outside sympathy should be reduced to zero.

Our accounts for the last few years have been a shitshow with consistent ongoing concerns about the club as a viable business. The wolves have been kept from the door with the proposed revenue from ill fated schemes as the ICT Concert Company and this battery scheme bringing in additional cash to help save the day. They've all been executed really badly and we're basically screwed as a result. I don't expect sympathy. Those in charge have acted like wankers, especially recently, when it comes to dealing with local firms and councilors. As far as I am concerned the club is reaping what they've sowed.

I've just had a glance at that page. It appears to contain all the biggest thickos in town and a bizarre amount of glee at the Everlast gym closing down.

Her comments can basically be summarised as "Build it somewhere else just not near me". Don't get me wrong, ICT have played a bit of a minter in this as well but some of those opposing the scheme are displaying classic teuchter mentality. And yes, a strange number of people really excited about a gym closing down to be replaced by a *checks notes*....bowling alley...

Are Caley really in danger here?

If what fans have been told at recent supporters meetings is true then yes. If this doesn't go ahead we miss out on a lump sum of a couple of million IIRC and we are looking at part time football in the very near future if not administration as the current board will only cover our losses for so long. Obviously this sucks but on the plus side it will hopefully mean Scot Gardiner sods off for good.

You think the Young trade was a failure?

Failure seems too harsh. Underwhelming definitely. He had something like 2.5 sacks in his nine games so not an amazing return but perhaps with more time working with Bosa there'd be a better return. Of course the whole Niners D line regressed last season including Bosa.

He's still of a young enough age that he'll get picked up no problem. I've seen some 49er sites talk about a one year prove it deal for the guy which sounds decent on paper. Low risk for the Niners and if he did well he'd cash in the following season.

Is he the guy who can't get a game for Forfar?

Yup. Here is what some of their fans have to say on Ferguson from their club thread.

Ferguson should be nowhere near our starting 11.

If it wasn't for Ferguson, I'd say he was the worst footballer I'd seen at Forfar in recent times.

To be fair, McLean cannot be any worse than Ferguson based on the little I’ve seen of both.

Ferguson- looks a complete dumpling 90% of the time and a complete mystery to what his strengths are.

A complete jobs for the boys signing.
