  1. Lazy's probably the best word to describe the process. There's generally a bit of debate about the Premiership and maybe the Championship but as soon as you drop into League 1 and 2, they just go for the easiest option because they don't know any better. I remember going onto the panel a year ago and arguing that Stevie Aitken should have been given the Manager of the Month award after a good series of results. Instead, it went to Jim Duffy at Morton, who had beaten a bunch of jobbers. "Duffy's done everything asked from him," said someone, despite Aitken putting together a relatively better performance. I was delighted when Morton got bodied by Spartans in the Scottish Cup that weekend.
  2. Three clean sheets is pretty impressive but do Dunfermline fans think he's done enough to merit the award? Has he saved the team at vital moments? I've appeared on the awards panel a couple of times and outwith the Premiership and Rangers, they don't have a clue (that's not to denigrate Murdoch's achievements, but you know what I mean).
  3. I've only been into the WWE for about one-and-a-half years and I don't think I've been as excited for anyone as I have Chad Gable. The guy's a superstar. Love watching him.
  4. Another decent episode. Not really into battle royals, they only get decent towards the end, but the seeds of some interesting-looking storylines planted there. Outstanding stuff from Tyler Breeze there. The crowd were horrible, particularly during Alexa Bliss's segment. Never thought I'd hear WHAT? chants on NXT.
  5. Brie Bella shouting "We want Sasha!" might have been the nadir. Cringed so hard there.
  6. Enjoyed that a lot. The main event was something else. I was a bit disappointed when Chad Gable and Jason Jordan were knocked out of the tournament and lost interest in the outcome, but it was still decent fun.
  7. Fair play to Kane - although this angle is a dog's dinner, he's really good fun in it. That look he gave Seth Rollins when he was being led up the ramp was brilliant. He's a comedy mid-carder who can be pushed to emergency main-eventer, and I admire him for that.
  8. Stephanie McMahon coming out to the biggest pop of the night by shouting about Tom Brady. I've said it before but it's weird and annoying how she flip-flops between face and heel. Not the worst episode I've seen, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman started the show well and the match between the Shield 2.0 and the Wyatts was good fun, but the rest has been so-so. I'm only up to Paige against Natalya, so there's plenty more to see.
  9. Hard not to be tight when you're playing along to sequencers (and I do realise this is one of the most "yer da" comments of all time). At the risk of repeating myself again, I went right off them after seeing them at the ABC in Glasgow not long after the first record came out. I thought it was alright, some wonderful tunes (namely Gun) in amongst some reasonably diverting tracks. But I was so disappointed with them live - it was two big lumps on keyboards and a girl singing. And that was it. At one point, one of the keyboard players had a shot on a bass guitar, but it was just so dull. The tracks sounded exactly the same as they did on the record. You could well be right about having written a follow-up album too quickly, but this might be their niche. They're a band I can't imagine progressing beyond how they sound just at the moment. I don't think they're a bad band, not by any stretch, but I just don't understand why people fawn over them.
  10. Previewing the album on iTunes just now and I still cannot understand what the fuss is here. They're decent tunes but they're just so boring. And it sounds identical to the first album - great stuff if you're into it, not so good if you're looking for musical progression. That's my two cents, and you're welcome to them. Edited to add - this post is almost identical to the one I posted several weeks ago, and I apologise for the repetition.
  11. Class episode last night. Great to see Asuka make her first appearance, and the tag-team match between the Vaudevillians and Blake and Murphy was a topper. Simon Gotch and Aiden English are something else.
  12. Very decent episode last night. It starts terribly with Adam Rose coming out and threatening to "poop" on everybody (?) but the subsequent matches were all pretty tasty and the moment at the end between Bayley and Sasha Banks was excellent, might have been one of the best I've seen since I started watching NXT. Can't wait for their fight next month.
  13. Watching Raw just now and that Divas match was something else. A dire, dire finish, and then Stephanie McMahon comes out to reverse the decision, saying that a title can only change hands via pinfall or submission, before going on to say that Nikki Bella can lose the belt at Night of Champions via pinfall, submission, or DQ. That just don't make a lick of sense. Ach well. At least Xavier Woods and his DON'T EVER TOUCH MY TROMBONE was good fun.
  14. You reckon Charlotte might have stopped and said, "Hang on, I'm fighting a different person here. Please stop this fight." They really have made a pig's ear of this Divas Revolution. It's interesting to watch it all unfold, but not in a good way.
  15. When was the last time Rollins got a clean win? Was it when he beat Adrian Neville on Raw a couple of months ago? Also, great to see Twin Magic's still on the go.
  16. Aye, punting Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Sasha Banks up to the main roster hasn't really done anyone any favours. They've been misused there and badly missed on NXT. Other than Bayley, there's not much to shout about, although I do quite like Dana Brooke, she's a good laugh. Eva Marie's botch the other week was a cracker. Hopefully Kanna and the other woman they've been previewing can make a positive impact.
  17. Excellent stuff, if it's half as good as the match in Brooklyn it'll be a cracker. Decent show last night. Good main event too between Joe and Balor (who are really doing their best to ham up how important the strap is) against the Lucha Dragons. Everyone came out of it looking great, especially Finn, whose entrance looked class in the bigger hall.
  18. Big E trying to eat the kazoo was the highlight of the whole show.
  19. Forty-five minutes into it and it sucks so far. Rollins talking a whole load of nothing, an overbooked Divas match and a squash featuring those lads who were pretty good in the Shield and the Ascension. Wyatt and his mates talk a load of nonsense again. I have seen this many, many times before.
  20. Every single thing about it was horrendous. Not sure what was worse - the delivery, the vain attempt to get the cheapest of cheap pops ("Tampa! Bruno! Andre! The Ultimate Warrior!"), or the weird, weird comments about Triple H. This has been a very poor episode so far.
  21. Stenhousemuir have signed Kieran Doran on lon from St Mirren. Don't know much about the lad, other than he was getting paid a quid a week - CLICK. No idea where he plays or if he's any good or not.
  22. No it's not, but the way this so-called Revolution is being presented is dreadful. No character development, no story, just a bunch of people thrown into teams for no real reason. Stephanie McMahon talking about women in sport and citing Serena Williams, who's been around for 20-odd years, for goodness sake. Compare it to Bayley's match with Sasha Banks on Takeover and it's night and day. Lance Storm actually gives a pretty solid analysis of the situation - CLICK.
  23. Got my tickets for Glasgow. Sitting right down the front as well, as close to the ring as I could possibly get. Hope the seating's okay and we're not behind some tall jabroni and can't see the ring.
