  1. Didn't look like much for the penalty but then lawless was fouled in the build up to stranraer's goal...swings and roundabouts. We seem to be creating plenty of chances but converting them is another story...a poacher would be nice He seems to have kicked Dykes foot rather than the ball; wasn't intentional by the looks of the players reaction but he also realised he'd given away a penalty. To be honest it looked like Stranraer set themselves out really well to defend in depth and frustrate us but to still have a chance of a counter attack. All in all I think they'll be comfortably upper division one side this season maybe even challenging for a play-off place - but then looking at the table there are some good sides in Div 1 this season with sides like East Fife and Airdrie also pulling out some good results recently. Certainly will be an interesting league to watch.
  2. Yes - the Gateshead exercise was pretty pricey for pretty much no benefit at all in my opinion. If we were looking at giving some of the fringe player and development squad a run then maybe but most are now out on loan.
  3. Actually want his injury picked up in the first leg playoff game against Partick Thistle? Ended up out of the game for over six months I think.
  4. Just seen an update from Callum Carson: Shocked... but maybe not surprised.
  5. Seemed to be quite happy in having two new French speakers in the team. Described them as the "French connection" of Livingston. I'd imagine he was a very strong part of the squad going forward unless of course we were offered silly money.
  6. Actually I'm pretty sure Ayr will be in the play-off this year as a minimum. I know the only other Championship side we've played recently was Alloa and that was friendly (10 changes each) but they were really light years ahead of that standard. For Ayr I think it will be another question of whether they can keep up that for for the entire season.
  7. Made heavy weather of it to be honest. Ayr were a significantly better side than Falkirk but Willie Collum did his best to spoil an otherwise entertaining game.
  8. Strangely Savane has been given shirt number 29. Shirt number 3 is still available.....
  9. I was impressed with him at the Alloa game. Didnt have any problem on their pitch; big; strong and fast. Also don't think he missed out on one tackle - I know it was only a makeshift Alloa side (with the greatest of respect to Alloa) and people were finding their place but he seemed to fit straight in. Rarely has a trialist impressed me so much on one game and am looking forward to seeing him as a regular at left back/wing back. Unfortunately another time I was impressed by a trialist was the midfielder (Patrick Noubissie?) who appeared as a trialist for us and did really well before signing for Hibs and being loaned back to us. When he came back he was god awful - he already had a two year contract with Hibs so evidently felt he didn't need to try.... So what do I know????
  10. The strange thing is the away kit isn't available now; its available to pre-order which presumably means they don't have stock available at the moment. The question therefore has to be why not pre-order the home kit.
  11. Been doing a search on Nike template kit and I cant find the amber kit per se; there's amber kits with coloured flashes or collars etc. but nothing that looks exactly like the Livi one. I can't imagine its a special order as companies like Nike don't operate that was for clubs the size of Livi. More likely its a new line. There's bucket loads of choice for white though... if only we'd gone for that.
  12. I'm actually not sure if the away kit will be called into action at all this season in the league.
  13. I see the LivingstonFC official site has changed it colours to quite a smart white background with gold bars.... https://livingstonfc.co.uk/
  14. Lithgow is wearing the captain's armband .... or is that a bandage?
  15. They have been pumping this so much to try and generate interest i think its actually been a quite clever marketing ploy. Looking at the home kit its actually quite rare to get a stock shirt that's actually amber - they either appear to be too yellow or orange/old gold. Notice Phoenix Drilling is also the main sponsor.
  16. Major wind up going on the club's twitter account A white kit and an amber away kit
  17. So its apparently a loan deal in the offering - wages covered and a fee - cant be bad. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/4474724/dolly-menga-livingston-transfer-news-atletico-petroleos-de-luanda-loan/
  18. Fair enough I suppose but I still think he would do a lot better training and playing with us than a local Angolan side. Angola didn't do well at all in the recent Africa Cup of Nations; the toothless lions as one of the reporters described them.
