  1. Your Home strip is excellent. But the away, not so...the white bit is a bit meh...plus for me there's something about top & shorts the same colour that I've never warmed to. (Maybe its partly because FIFA have been pushing national teams to wear it at tournaments). Disappointed in our all white at last years cup final - should've had blue shorts, and hated our all navy blue from years back. Hated it on previous Scotland strips.

Meanwhile...do like the idea of your club crest being tastefully integrated into the fabric tho'. Good effort guys!

  2. As it stands Hibs have 10 games in 7 weeks, never mind play offs.

The whole play offs dates should've been looked at last season, when the SPFL were shitting themselves if Hibs made the cup final and the big outside chance if we made play offs.

If Hibs finish third and made the cup final, as it stands it would mean 17 games in 10 weeks too

...and this too. Whether its Hibs or us or anyone else, the playoff set up is a fecking scandal. Still, who cares eh, as long as the "greatest derby in the world" is restored to our grateful land. Sack the Board!

  3. The stage is set hippo...you've been shite so far ..this is your chance to make a difference to this team & do something

Yup, this. Wholly unimpressed with his lack of impact so far. Looked skillful and dangerous last time he played against us, but just a fidget to date in navy blue.

Was it John Aldridge that when he transferred from goal machine at Liverpool to dud in Turin the Italians said it was his twin and not him who had turned up?

  4. I am disappointed we are being set up not to lose most games instead of going out to win them. We aren't as good a side as last year but we have the potential to be better than we have been. With some believe and a more attacking set up we will finish fourth imo. If we continue to sit deep and invite trouble like Fowler usually sets us up to do we will lose more than we will win and might finish 7th. That in my book would be an extremely disappointing season.

Sounds like the dark days of Gus have returned for you guys. Seeing your team set up not to lose has to be the most piss-poor, deflating and frustrating feeling for any fan. We had our own horrendous spell for that mind-numbing square-ball walking pace crab football, particularly the season we got relegated, although it did carry on a depressingly long time afterward. Seeing us line up at home with one up front (any time, but particularly against a team struggling in 9th or 10th) does my head in. And definitely has affected crowd numbers imo.

The notion of having a go - attack as the best form of defence - has been drummed out of so many of the league's young managers. Craig Brown was a major culprit in this and it filtered into our league. Scaredy-cat football is pish. A lot of the championship teams are much of a muchness, not just this season, and a little bit more adventure, ambition and energy wouldn't go amiss. 4th this year is very much there for the taking, if someone in the chasing pack would have a fecking go at it. No wonder you're disillusioned.

Keeping an eye on bottom of Premier too - whilst nothing would please me more than putting Killie down, if we were to get that far and get them and not make id have a serious meltdown..

OMG - us v Killie...what a thought. Cup Final. Ollie. Relegation decider. Ryan Flynn...

Nah, we'd lose again. Wouldn't we?

  6. In the last twelve weeks, we've played at home twice.

It seems crazy that in a season which lasts nine months and in which we'll play a minimum of twenty one competitive games at home, we only play a tiny fraction of them during what is effectively the season's middle third.

The weather has not of course impacted on this at all.

Does that mean you've got a fixture pile-up looming?

  7. The thing Vaulks missed for me at centre half was that he was too honest, same could be aimed at Watson and Grant, definitely not Muirhead and McCracken.

That's an odd thought about McCracken; too honest was exactly his problem in the lead up to the winner in the Cup Final - should've hauled the guy down on the half-way line without thinking twice about it.

  8. One time I remember we found a pub up a vennel - maybe the Hole in th' Wa ? - place was jumping at 12:30, good pint, food was perfectly OK, and a bus load of Geordie girls in on a hen weekend.

All very tempting, and they were good fun, but eventually most of us left for the game, except one of our mates who stayed behind, by that time having pretty much swapped clothes with one of the girls (admittedly she wasn't wearing very much anyway). His was the better option as it turned out.

  9. Falkirk Herald reporting that Baird and Muirhead are close to signing up for an additional year. We've seen this season the difference between major upheaval and continuity season to season so getting two quality Championship players tied up early would be great news.

Great news indeed, Baird's selfless hard work and commitment now paying off with a genuine goal threat, and he & McHugh have shown potential together. Would be a massive improvement on pre-season prep - & fan morale - if for a change we're not scrambling around on deadline day trying to sign a decent striker. Hopefully Muirhead will get a run at CH for then as well. Decent backbone to the team looks to be in place....

Also do wonder whether at least part of StM's current problems stem from exactly that issue of lack of continuity - did they not have only half a squad in July?

  10. QoS, StM & Morton have been the surprises to date; Morton have done better with Duffy than many of their own fans thought they would, StM have been gash (which has been great for us), and you guys are currently off the pace a bit - I took this to be down to losing half your team in the summer, so am surprised at comments above about perceived lack of effort.

Still only one win off 4th though, so you're hardly out of it.

  11. He did and he offered a rationale for it on QueensMad. I'm a fan of the work, but think that decision was wildly wrong.

How depressing that not only was it rationalised but then the rest of the approvals committee bought into it. A worthwhile project polluted by an inexcusable aberration. Would really rankle with me too if in a parallel scenario, like Nicky Walker being chosen over Ally Donaldson, or Geordie Watson.

Still not too late to get their heads on a pike IMO.
