Pretty oddball stuff if he's firing out a set list for a squad of players 10 years ago and a cup game we lost against our rivals. As a one off for a family fun day I can stomach it. But, it'll no doubt confuse the weans as they'll never have heard of half the players and some of the parents will have PTSD flash backs. If a regular feature then get it in the sea. -

To be fair it could be the case that we did have a number of targets, we've just been unable to sign any of them. With the new visa rules making foreign signings far more difficult the number of suiters for domestic signings has increased. Youth prospects appear to have EFL shaped vultures circling above them which will narrow the availability of players to clubs looking at loans. There is also the return of the reserve league, I'm assuming this will mean a reduction in outward loans as well. Unless they are going to be playing players from younger age groups that aren't loan ready to make up the numbers. -

You have to remember we are at the start of a new approach, signing players to multi year deals. Next summer we may be in the position of only needing 3 or 4 players depending on how things pan out and players progress. This was always going to be a bit of a rebuild given the Hopkin effect. No team in the league has a full squad yet, we're in a pretty good place balance and numbers wise compared to others. Have a look at Raith Rovers and their lack of defenders for example. Shankland was a late signing (8th September) and only on a short term deal to prove fitness, appreciate he was a once in a generation type player. But, he was a late release from Aberdeen. -

Had a wee look through the squad lists pinned in the forum earlier, assuming they are all up to date. We are in a fairly decent position numbers and balance wise. A couple of gaps that we all know about. There is a clump of teams with c21 signed up including ourselves, obviously waiting for the Premiership loans and cuts to start filtering down. There are also 2 or 3 with less than 20, Queens Park and Arbroath looking really short at present. I reckon we might start to see some business over the next week with a number of B teams were knocked out last night from the challenge cup. With 3 more playing tonight, it'll probably be too early for the weekend. -

We're at the point of completely binning our TV package and going with a broadband only deal. Genuinely can't tell you the last thing we watched on Live TV or even recorded on our Virgin box. An SPFL streaming service would be absolutely up my street, already have NFL gamepass. Something similar even on a scaled down size would be excellent. NFL is 24/7 but, even 2 or 3 programmes during the week and a couple of roundup/highlight shows as well as getting access to games would be superb. -

Speaking of Australian football, I see we've been marked safe from Griffiths as he's signed for an Australian juniors side or something. Screams of their version of the WoS league. -
If "Warrior spirit" is code for tackles like Jamie Adam, I'd have him on every minute he isn't suspended.

There were 2 or 3 performances in that last run of 10 from McGinty that made me think there was a player in there somewhere last season. The arrival of the headband/Terry Butcher look seemed to increase his confidence 10 fold. In the Queens game in particular I reckoned he was easily the best defender we had on the park. I think Bullen gets him, there were comments about him being genuinely surprised that Baird was dropped instead of him as he thought he had been gash. Given the criticism he's had since arriving in Scottish football his confidence must have been in the gutter for a long time. I'm not suggesting we won't see his drop clangers but, if his confidence is high and he keeps up this form I'm far more confident with our backline than last season. -

Well needed early points on the board. Feared the worst at half time, to come back from 2 down and not only draw but, win. That takes heart. Kudos to the lads sticking with it. -

We had a rough one last year, don't think it is sour grapes against Queens Park by any stretch. We would have been buried after going down 2 goals, so nice to see us fighting back. -

QP loved a draw last season and we can't scored nor have we signed a striker in time. Ayr to comfortably win 0-0 tonight. -

Mind when we came back up they had Moore and Moffat as shorter odds than Shankland until about October after they realised they were being rinsed every week with folk putting on Ayr Win + Shankland anytime at 5/1+ -

Can only hope you are on the right school of thought. Would be astonishing if we weren't looking for a striker. Given we seem to be able to create alot I'd hope for a penalty box striker as a minimum, a Gareth Wardlaw type. -

Pretty sure we got parked next to the school last time I drove up there, only a couple of streets away. Mind you that was the game where Scott McLaughlin had returned on loan from Peterhead so it may have changed in the past decade. -

I felt sorry for Roberts, he clearly was heavily invested. He was just a terrible manager, must have been a really difficult transition from being a fan favourite to pitch forks and bedsheets. When he was given that final season there was still alot of goodwill in August that maybe he had learned and things would be better, sadly by September it was obvious...... -

I really don't understand the league cup group stages are a friendly mentality. Getting out the groups alone is worth another signing atleast and then everything from that point is gravy from a budget perspective. As a fan I want to see cup runs, watching midweek games under the floodlights is what got me hooked as a fan. -

It would be interesting to know exactly where we finish up ST wise compared to clubs in this league. In Morton's board statement yesterday they announced 800+ with around 200 being youth. So we are certainly ahead of them as it stands. -

JET was possibly going to India from something I read earlier in the month. McGeouch could be a shout as it sounds as if he might be willing to drop a league as he's reportedly "open to anything", although I'm not sure if that rings alarm bells or not. -

With our e-ticket system now in place there is a no reason they couldn't do a points system. I.e. 18 points automatically for anyone that buys a season ticket, 1 point per home ticket bought on PAYG. If they worked on an average over 2 or 3 season and set a bar for events then it would be more inclusive for people who PATG for most if not all of the season.
