  1. His final game had about 650 at it in December, I think that was a protest more than anything else as his position had been made pretty much untenable by Halloween.
  2. There lies the problem of the past few years. That League 1 winners and Championship squad that follows was bursting with players who would get you offer your proverbial seat. It was a young hungry team with points to prove, with a mix of experienced old heads (any one of whom could be club captain) and a couple of thugs for protection. It was never going to be an easy act to follow. However, we have witnessed the same failings in every squad ever since that appear to be glaringly obvious to everyone bar the managers. It has gone from how on earth did we lose that game to how on earth will we win a game. There is still time in this window, we also haven't seen Bangala play yet. Early signs aren't great but, that could all change with our next signing. There is still a month of the ordinary window left and, correct me if I'm wrong, we have until the end of September for loans and free agents?
  3. Great to hear but, still felt like a whole lot of not very much. Certainly sounds like we have had a fair number of knock backs from targets as well. Bangala arriving or a new signing before Saturday would certainly help.
  4. Wouldn't be against it, but as Wattoo says we'd be more than likely punching and he's got no real connection to draw him to Ayrshire either at the age of 34.
  5. I can't remember which game it was exactly, but in our last few there was one where it looks like a real coming of age performance from him. I think it was at home v Inverness. It looked like he had matured overnight and a few things has really started to click. Whilst I don't think anyone is expecting him to lead the line on his own over the next few weeks, by the end of the season I reckon he'll be there with some proper management and coaching. From what I've seen I wonder if parking Bryden in the middle of a 4-3-3 would work with Ashford and Dipo doing the legwork in the wider positions and Bryden more focused on putting them away. Alternatively a 4-4-2 with Bryden slightly further advanced and Dipo acting as playmaker in a Shankland/Moff type arrangement.
  6. He really wasn't outstanding for QotS, certainly not according to my mate who follows them. He really wasn't fussed that he left them and came to us. Have to admit after a relatively bright start I thought he looked generally poor towards the end of the season, very much needed time out in February to refocus.
  7. Coaching methods as well driven by this have really evolved over the past decade or so. England won their first penalty shoot out aided by adopting a pseudo NFL style coaching system with specialists covering narrow remits. I'm not suggesting we suddenly increase our backroom staff 10 fold of course, but, being able to identify our most glaring weaknesses and addressing them could be enough to become a serious contender in this league vs treading water and trying to stay ahead of the rising tide.
  8. That was always going to be an optimistic target after the past 3 seasons or so. On top of that there is the context of increases costs across the board for punters just trying to get by before considering what to spend their spare cash on. A marque signing would help boost sales and alleviate concerns. The names we have heard, so far, have gone elsewhere. There are some pie in the sky names being banded around, but stranger things have happened. I've not made my mind up yet on renewal and probably will end up not doing so because of majors costs on the horizon that will need to take priority. I'm finding it very hard to justify it after being so scunnered last season and having seen nothing so far that suggests I won't be scunnered with it costing an extra 40p a litre for the pleasure of filling my car up to do so.
  9. So again... Who's is that? Jayden Mitchell-Lawson, signed for us a couple of weeks ago.
  10. Was thinking the same with the timing, As it is looked like about a minute into the first half of the game that was going on when I was checking the half time scores.
  11. They probably don't understand how the league cup works and assumed we've drawn 2.
  12. Didn't remember the first being that bad at the time, proper schoolboy stuff all round.
  13. Mostly agree that simple is best but, we also have the option of 451 keeping Murdoch and Dempsey as anchors and a Stephen Kelly type midfielder in behind the striker with two wide men supporting from the flanks.
  14. We aren't there yet. However, the next 6 weeks will tell us a lot about how this season is going to go. I would be astonished if we sign any of the targets named earlier like Gogic etc. However, if we were to land anyone near that calibre it would go a very long way to allaying fears.
  15. Haven't renewed mine either yet. With costs rising everywhere can I really be arsed chucking a season ticket and fuel money every other week at this again. Talked myself back into a Hopkin built squad last year but that was before it cost £110 to fill up the motor.
  16. Bullen starting the campaign with a 3-0 win. Fair play to him. If you can't win, don't lose etc.
  17. Are you still going to be doing the highlights package this season? Always enjoyed (result dependant) your highlights packages.
  18. I agree with about 95% of this. It boils my piss as well. However, it is worth remembering that not all disabilities are visible. People are often granted blue badges for their children for example. All this information should be stored in a database somewhere that could be checked with ANPR cameras, which in turn could pay for themselves through the fines.
  19. The problem is then who follows on as next leader. Best thing that ever happened to the Tories was Tony Blair. He killed off a major part of the socialist element and shifted Labour to the right. The socialists who are left are surrounded by careerists with Oxbridge upbringings and will never garner the support they need. The 2nd Indy ref is a real opportunity for the Scottish branch to reinvent themselves and maybe win back some support, however it will no doubt be a similar uninspiring SNP bad / Too wee argument rather than a here is our vision for Scotland. Lets face it, if Indy goes through the SNP are then at a crossroads as well.
  20. Will most likely be a constitutional issue, I'm genuinely astonished after the nonsense he tried in 2014 with Ayr that anyone was willing to deal with him again.
  21. Pretty sure he continued his being made of chocolate routine with us if I remember correctly. Mind you I was also quite excited by the signing of Chalmers
  22. First game of the season, would assume it will be a bit of a mix and match job given we are playing Elgin. Who, no offence to them, we should be able to see off quite easily and give guys who are on the fringe of Bullen's initial first XI a chance to try earn a place.
  23. O'Connor was done out of atleast 3 or 4 goals last season by Adeloye's poor decision making. Got himself into some great positions where it was literally a case of just squaring the ball to be fired into an empty net. Seems to have the right instincts to grab a half dozen if our new striker is willing to pass.
  24. Sets up a new company every other week it seems. Will never forget Lachlan Cameron chasing him away whilst Restor-a-roof were his front. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/exclusive-roofing-boss-hugh-clarke-4321388
