  1. That's 3 confirmed and 8 maybes That's a better response than I'd hoped for. I'll get a couple of easy challenges set up tonight (private so they are P&B exclusives) and post the details, sending out invites to the usernames that we have so far. I'll make the start date Sunday 17th of Feb (just over a week). Feel free to set more challenging targets.
  2. Not yet. Last night was the first time I tried music (and only for the last 0.5 mile) and you still get distance/time updates whilst the music plays. I've been making up a playlist last night that I should finish tonight. Then I've got to work out what my powersong is going to be. Good to see some more folk getting involved. I'll stick some new challenges up here at the weekend, starting the week after that so everyone is up to speed with the Nike+ stuff?
  3. You get Lance Armstrong or Paula Radcliffe when you acheive a milestone. When I look at my runs the line starts out fairly horizontal then drops right down halfway. Then it rockets back up as I realise I'm never going to make it back home in my target time
  4. You appear to be talking in tongues again I think you've been playing too much mosters and wizards on the computer again. You're allowed a half hour tonight after your dinner, but only if your homework is finished, then it's lights out
  5. Is that before or after deriding something you seemingly have no interest in or knowledge about
  6. The basic run option doesn't give you any updates without music either. Just a round up at the end. Good stuff. Using the challenges is a good motivator.
  7. Nike+ question. So far I've been running without any music (running at night, running beside traffic) but as it get's lighter I'll make up som playlists. Do you still get the distance update voiceovers whilst listening to music? i.e. Does the update play over the music?
  8. I'm really happy for you You'd win if you join in
  9. If you set a distance, time or calorie target it gives you updates. I measure my runs in miles and it updates every half mile. It also tells you that you are at the halfway point. You can choose between a male or female voice. If you acheive a milestone - fastest mile etc Paula Radcliffe or Lance Armstrong congratulates me Tells you your time, distance, pace and calories burned. Sensor and transmitter come in at £20 and there are bargains to be had on the trainers online (from £45 I'm sure I've seen). Or you could buy the little pouches/pods for attaching the transmitter to any shoe.
  10. I'm currently listening to Crap Attack by We Are Scientists. Not a fan of B-side albums, this is doing nothing to change my mind. The new album is out soon, hopefully it's more like their debut.
  11. I'll put back the start date of the P&B challenges until we have more than 2 names down. Middle of Feb OK for everyone to get organised?
  12. It took me a while to work out who you were I thought Reina was a man
  13. Do you have access to an iPod Nano? You need one of those first.
  14. It's the P&B Running Club and if you have Nike+ then it doesn't matter where you are, you can still join in. Since everyone on P&B come from all over the place the Nike+ system enables folk to run 'together' virtually, compete in the same challenges and acheive the same milestones and targets. If you have Nike+ running gear then you can join exclusive P&B running challenges and create your own. All you have to do is post or PM your Nike+ username and I (or whoever has set up the challenge) will sign you up. Then it doesn't matter if you're in Berwick or Dingwall, Gourock or Dundee - you can still run with or against fellow P&Bers.
  15. Just finished my first listen of Made In The Dark by Hot Chip. It's great and I just know that it's going to get better with each listen.
  16. Get your username down so we can get some exclusive P&B challenges up and running. Username: THUNDRMONKEY P&B Sprint Star - fastest mile P&B 100 Club - 1st to 100 miles P&B Group Run - All runners complete 50 miles. If you fancy it post or PM your username and I'll sign you up. This way we avoid guys from the Gambon (3 miles in 16 mins) and Japan (over 29 miles in 2 days) signing up and beating us all
  17. Supersize Me - 7/10 Was expecting him to end up a right fat b*****d. He didn't. Did not expect McDonalds to end up leading to liver failure Just kept thinking - "stop eating this crap". Salty - I guarantee that you will come out of AVP2 thinking "what a piece of crap" if you watch Aliens beforehand.
  18. My Xmas viewing: The Prestige – 8/10. Bale is superb. X-Men 3 – 6/10. Nothing special. Bourne 3 – 8/10. Business as usual. Tangiers is a bit special. Casino Royale – 7/10. A promising re-start. Gets better on a 2nd viewing. Spidey 3 – 6/10. A disappointment. No need for Sandman, Venom underused. Emo-Parker was a joke, what’s with the dancing? Zodiac – 7/10. Pretty decent. Being at true story the principles were never going to be in mortal danger. The Empire Strikes Back – 10/10. Magnificent. Beautiful. Powerful. The most Lucas-less Star Wars is the best and it’s no coincidence.
  19. Well f**k me, I sat through "The Holiday" again. My wife decided she wanted to give it another go to see if she had missed something. She hadn't. Still 2/10 and may I add, isn't Kate Winslet looking old these days?
