  1. I know. When I told a friend who is involved with another East of Scotland Lowland League club the result he told me that Bonnyrigg had a strange starting 11 as a number of players that normally start were on the bench. This person has no axe to grind and wished Talbot well prior to the final. Only thing that matters is the result. Bonnyrigg made a lot of substitutions but the substitutions didn’t alter the pattern of the game. Talbot can’t stand still though. They need to strengthen in certain areas.
  2. This is exactly what happened. The date was fixed. Blantyre wanted the game moved. Glenafton refused. If the league are allowed to move fixtures there would be an argument regarding the circumstances for moving them. Rangers games, Celtic Games, Scotland games whatever. Lots of folk from New Cumnock support Rangers but Glenafton we’re willing to fulfil the fixture as originally scheduled. If there is an issue it is with Blantyre seeking a way not to fulfil the fixture.
  3. Bonnyrigg did have a few players that would normally start on the bench. More fool them if they didn’t take the competition seriously. Wasn’t impressed with Bonnyrigg. Talbot were fitter and quicker. Talbot gave the number 10 too much room apart from the start of the second half when Healy seemed to be assigned to man mark him. When that happened Talbot had their best spell.
  4. If the Constitution states that then that is what happens. I looked for the League rules online but couldn't find them.
  5. The game started with 7 players so there had to be a rule to cover that. The game stopped at 6 players so there had to a rule to cover that scenario as well. There will be a Constitution and Rules of the league that should cover such scenarios.
  6. There are rules in place to deal with things like this. If the rules state that the game is replayed it is replayed. If those rules state that there is a victory awarded then a victory is awarded. You can’t change the rules this far into the season. If the league and member clubs think the rules should be changed then they should be changed going forward.
  7. The fixture secretary stated that both teams had to agree to a change of fixture and Glenafton refused. Glenafton have a right to refuse to change the match. Glenafton had a full squad of players prepared to fulfill the fixture and miss anything happening elsewhere. Blantyre started the game in accordance with the league rules but couldn’t finish it. If anyone is to blame it is Blantyre for not having enough players prepared to play and finish the game. The fixture secretary is blameless in all of this and has explained why he couldn’t unilaterally move the game.
  8. Berwick are going to invest heavily and Cowdenbeath will have a parachute payment. East Kilbride will be pushing at the top of the league as well.
  9. Agreed but in a West of Scotland context they are irrelevant until others get into the LL. I also don’t think they are as relevant to East of Scotland teams or fans as Talbot, Pollok and others. Question is whether John Gall will still be backing them in 5 or 10 years time when he is in his mid to late 60’s as without that backing they are unsustainable.
  10. John Gall is 58 this year. Doubt he’ll be involved when he is 65. Significant key man risk to his involvement. Kennedy is 42. Black Rooster has lots of connected companies. Will be interesting how much time he can commit if those businesses grow of face difficulties.
  11. I think that’s correct. I have only taken any interest in Darvel because they were in the same league as Talbot. Who is going to take any interest next year if Darvel get promoted and are playing Civil Service Strollers, Stirling University, Glasgow University or Berwick. I predict that the biggest crowds and fan and media interest in the West next year will be for games between the larger WOSFL teams. I also predict that Darvel will struggle to get crowds above the low hundreds (apart from the games against the OF Colt teams) if they get promoted. Darvel only became relevant when playing the larger teams in the WOSFL. They will only become relevant to me again if they end up in the same league as Talbot or they play each other in a cup. Apart from that they become irrelevant and I think most fans in the West think the same. As I said it will be interesting to see how Gall, Kennedy and the players cope with the lack of interest in them.
  12. They'll beat Blantyre & Cumbernauld easily. I expect they will. They only need 4 points to be completely safe in any event.
  13. I’ve seen him in action at Killie games talking about Darvel but he fails to realise that most folk don’t care about them. Darvel have only become relevant recently in a West of Scotland context and are most relevant when playing decent supported teams like Talbot, Meadow, Kilwinning etc. They will be irrelevant to fans in the West if they make it into the LL. It will be interesting to see how the egos cope when folk aren’t interested in what they are doing apart from the couple of hundred fans who support them. They will only become relevant again when they lock horns with the larger West teams again.
  14. Glenafton on 49 points with two games to go. Win one and they are level with Benburb on 52 but likely to have a worse goal difference. A win and a draw takes them above Benburb and above Troon on goal difference and completely safe.
  15. Were Killie playing at the same time. If he is a Killie fan he should have been watching the team he has supported all his life. I support Talbot and Killie but I only watch Talbot if Killie aren’t playing. If Talbot played Killie I’d be supporting Killie. If he wants to get involved with Darvel fair enough but I find it odd for a high profile Killie fan.
  16. He’s been a Killie fan all his days yet he might divert money to Darvel. As a Killie fan I want all Killie minded businessmen to be involved at Killie. Which games is he going to attend next year.
  17. If you are a Killie fan you want that money to be going to us and not Darvel. Killie need as many local businesses and businessmen involved with the club as possible to be as successful as they can be. John Gall was a Killie fan long before Darvel and that’s where his money should be going football wise.
  18. Darvel will have to keep spending to get out of the lowland league. Berwick are going to invest in their squad and I assume Cowdenbeath will do likewise if they end up in the LL. Might not be as easy to get promoted as folk think.
  19. I am. I won’t buy any Brownings products including pies at Killie games. All down to John Gall’s recent behaviour.
  20. Spending all that money simply to revel in beating Talbot. They’ll need to keep spending next year to win the LL and the same again if they get promoted to the SPFL. The comments from John Gall and some of the players show a complete lack of class. Which games will John be at next year Killie or Darvel? He was a Killie fan long before Darvel. As I said previously I won’t miss them in the WOSFL and the comments from them after winning the league show why as they completely lack any class. Let’s see what happens long term and where they are in 5 or 10 years time. I won’t be buying any Brownings products going forward including Kilmarnock pies!!
  21. See he has had a run in with Chris Strain as well. I wouldn’t read anything he posts on twitter. Don’t feed his ego.
  22. Just because a player gets a shot away after a foul doesn’t mean there was an advantage. It was a clear foul and the ref should have given it but he didn’t. The only reason we could think of was he thought there was an advantage but there definitely wasn’t. You can pull back for a foul if there was no advantage.
