  1. John Sim is going to clear all Rovers debts, lay a synthetic playing surface, put corporate facilities in or around the railway stand, tart up the main stand/Raith suite I'm sure there are other things in the offer. We as a team are losing £100,000 plus a season there comes a time when this has to be seriously addressed and personally I think this is now the time. There is no-one else out there ready and willing to come to the clubs aid. The man I think (I don't know him personally) is trying to help and we as we are should not close the door on him otherwise it will be part-time football for god knows how long. I think since he has been a board of the football club member he has come to realise that football clubs are not like ordinary businesses and has refined his outlook. I could be way off the mark but let's see.
  2. Yes Mickey Quinn looked like Bob Carolgees or vice versa. Didn't look like a football player but he knew where the back of the net was.
  3. Newcatle against us I think as part of the Paul Sweeney transfer deal and the Newcastle centre forward banging in four goals I seem to recall. For the life of me I can't remember his name age is a funny thing. Beating Chealsea when they had Micky Droy at centre half who according to the press was going to be the next England centre half he was crap 3-2 for the Rovers I think.
  4. I hear the time is four past dunfermline. Also heard big jock was brilliant for Hibs first goal. I hope he keeps it up on Monday ya thieving barstewards.
  5. Jiglin Geordie so you only went for the freebies ok understand where you are coming from now another freeloader. The 200 club is run by volunteers no one takes a wage. As for food Mario would have opened up the pie stall if asked. I forgot that would have cost you money that would have gone to the Rovers sorry. The pie stall might have remained closed then shocking.
  6. Sorry guys have to disagree with you there. This was a Raith night and as such should have been held at Starks Park. Munter if you want dark ages you should have been around when it was terracing behind the goals and there was a tunnel underneath "c" stand in the main stand where there was a toilet. If yoy were brave or stupid you went there if like most supporters in those days you went up to the back and did your business. You want toknock it down and how do you propose to fund this? I doubt if you can come up with a reasonable and sensible reply.
  7. Would it not been better to open the South Stand concourse and the 200 club and held the diplay in the concourse and anyone wanting a drink visit the 200 club. All money going to the Rovers. It's not rocket science you know I dispair about what is running Raith Rovers they seem to go from bad to worse.
  8. Thought he had been released by them. Well wrong again I suppose.
  9. The old Masonic Lodge things are becoming clearer with Mr Sim.
  10. Scottydog there is nothing eletist about the Jim McMillan club we like the 200 club are limited by the space we have and therefore our membership is lmited to 50 all of whom can be accomodated. The reason you can't get in is there are only a limited number of pies, sausage rolls and sandwiches for the members at half-time.
  11. Apparently no hospitality next season the Raith Suite being opened on match days for anyone who wants a pre match pint or three. Regarding Mr Penman he alledgedly offered RRFC £250,000 two board members resigned not sure if true. Regards who owns Starks, yes John Sim is one but there are another one or two in that consortium Mario and the late Turnball's estate not unless it has been sold on. This is getting as interesting as watch a stupid soap. So apparently we will all be enlightened some time in the near future. I don't think I'll hold my breath.
  12. Stevo that reminds me of your mum and sisters, hee haw hee haw hee haw. Now to get back to what I really wanted to say was don't expect silky football cause we will not be allowed time to play that, it's going to be blood and snotters stuff not nice to watch but if you are that wee bit harder than your opponents and more street wise then you have a chance.
  13. Bog standard answer you have no proof that what you say is correct. Football has been played on grass for over 100 years and there has never been a problem with this. If your team had been better supported you wouldn#t have had to go down this route.
  14. Looking forward to going to Wetherstons game will probably be crap on your shity "pitch" football should always be played on grass.
  15. Here's a game I fondly remember it was Wednesday 7th of November 1987. The venue Starks Park, the opposition East Fife. The Rovers line-up that day was :- 1) McAlpine 2) McStay 3) McLeod 4) Fraser 5) Brash 6) Sweeny 7) Simpson 8 Harris 9) Marshall 10) Dalziel 11) Wright Subs :- Lloyd and Harrow both came on in the 78th minute for Simpson and Marshall. The score was 7-1 for the Rovers and the scorers were Dalziel (3), Harris (2), Brash and McStay. Don't know who scored for East Fife not that it really matters. A wonderful mid-week game under the floodlights. Another thing to note about that season was that was the last season that East Fife beat the Rovers in a league or cup game. 5)
  16. Off the topic slightly here guys need a bit of advice, is there any real ale pubs in the vicinity of the ground or anywhere in the Methil/Leven area. Like a few ales before the game and after regardless of the result. Many thanks.
  17. What are you cheating barstewards going to do next season since you have now lost your second biggest gate. Cheat your suppliers and vat and the tax man nothing new there then.
  18. Any of you guys know if St Pauli fifer is still around I used to have a couple of beers with him in the old days but have lost touch. Cheers if you can help
  19. Have ben told that Alec Penman has offered the Rovers £250,000 on condition that certain board members fall on their swords. Don't know how true this maybe but do the said people have the bottle to do this and possible save the team they love if there is any semblance of truth in this.
  20. Steady they didn't offer a farthing to the people they were in debt to. Bunch of theiving barstewards.
  21. Does it tell you how much our CEO is taking in wages and expenses?
