  1. With Rangers in the final its already a great season for Scottish Football in Europe, Hopefully they can finish off the job and win the Europa League

Celtic fans will be hard pressed to support them granted, But there is no reason why there should be ill will towards Rangers from anyone who is Scottish

    COME ON RANGERS

There's merit in exploring the idea, although it will come up against all the obstacles mentioned in the myriad of previous threads. The self-confessed troll OP's idea of scrapping all local and regional cups to implement his scheme is probably bringing him the downvotes.

Seems to be but this would be better to have then local cups where only 10-12 clubs will take part

But it doesn't give them competitive games as the result does not matter and it doesn't help at all.

Why would results not matter in a reserve league?

Because it means nothing to Scottish Football. Celtic being 8th in the reserve league means nothing

What they are playing isn't competitive either. Whether they win or lose makes no difference to them in a league they can't be promoted or relegated from. If they want competitive games they can go on loan.

But it matters to the teams they playing against. Thats the thing its still competitive

Playing in reserve teams allows them to play in their own environment and train with the first team. They can do all that without giving the richest clubs even more of an advantage.

But it doesn't give them competitive games as the result does not matter and it doesn't help at all.

    The 11v4 vote suggests otherwise.

B Teams are a success in Europe, and there's no reason why they can't be a success in Scotland.

Classic: Man City 4 v 3 Real Madrid midweek and  15 of the starting 22 players featured in B teams across 6 countries: Austria, France, Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Spain.  On average they played 30 games each in a pro B team, typically at tier 2 or 3 in the respective league pyramid against other FT professionals.

All of them play for their country.

Benzema the best striker around?  Played 20 times for Lyon B team at 17-18yr old, it was part of his development.

Why not in Scotland? Probably not in the Lowland League, I'd agree - they should be in Tier 2 or 3.

Well said. We are fighting a losing battle on here. But the Clubs have cottoned on and know its the way to go for success everywhere

Would they have developed by going on loan? Or playing in the reserves? Or is it purely because they had a game of shooty-in against some students a coupla times a season they are now in the Rangers first team?

The answer is no one knows but B Team will ensure they play in their own environment train with the first team and Rangers will set a style of play which they will get used too which will ensure their development is much better and allows more time to adapt. Being dismissive of "Student Teams" is pathetic
