  1. It was, and still is, optional. The West junior management have no mandate (or power) to order anyone to move.
  2. "Dream to join Albion Rovers" - Have these people no ambition?
  3. I think you missed "I would say if they call the season off they shouldn't have any promotion or relegation." That suggests his grasp of reality is pretty tenuous
  4. It's not about resignation: rather expulsion. Can they remain members under the current rules? If not, they can't have a vote on changing the rules!
  5. AIUI the SJFA AGM takes place after the end of the season. At that point, the West Region teams who are joining the WOSL are no longer competing in a junior league, and so, under the current rules, can't be SJFA members. No entry to the AGM, no vote. Simples.
  6. Anyone know what "with the support of SJFA" means?
  7. Who is/are "you lot"? While the majority view on this thread has been supportive of the move to the WOSL, most have also emphasised individual clubs' right to choose. There's a big difference between "should join" and "must join". Some might say that any "remaining" clubs represent the true "breakaway", by their deciding to ignore the diktats from the WR management.
  8. Wasn't that vote for an "all in" move for the Junior clubs? Or has their been a vote for the West region to move independently of the rest?
  9. If there wasn't, would that be a bad thing? The present management haven't exactly covered themselves in glory.
  10. The West juniors management are telling all the clubs to apply because there won't be anything left for them to play in. If enough clubs elect to ignore that advice, it won't be too difficult to organise themselves into a league. But not before electing new management!
  11. Depends how many clubs are left in the West Juniors?
  12. Do you have some inside knowledge from the LL? Do they (or you) know there will be 64 teams? Are you aware that is NOT how they did it in the EOSFL?
  13. The WOSFL hasn't even been formed yet. How can you possibly know what the rules about board member re-election will be?
  14. As you say, the LL etc. "will not bat an eyelid". So surely it was a concession made, not to the LL, but to their own members?
  15. Not necessarily the clubs. The rules say "The Committee of the Association shall have the power toadd to these Rules and Cup Competition Rules as they from timeto time may deem expedient, provided they do not annul orconflict with any rule adopted at the Annual General Meeting"
  16. The South Challenge Cup will be mandatory, that was stated at the LL-WoSFL information meeting. But wasn't it also stated that the members would elect their own management committee? AIUI the new league will be independent, with help from - but not run by - the LL. If that's the case, surely they can make up their own minds about cups.
  17. It's a brand new league. There are no mandatory competitions unless the members want them. I think it would be foolish in the first (possibly truncated) season.
  18. The statement said "Clubs currently members of the Scottish Junior FA are fully entitled to retain membership and, if so, will be eligible to continue to play in The Scottish Junior Cup. The Competition Rules of that Cup will be altered to reflect the need to ensure League Fixtures have priority." Absolutely nothing about changing the rules to allow non-members to play in the Cup.
  19. The Junior Rules (Clubs and Players - Rule 4) say "Any person or club that has been, or is, connected with Senior football must declare such an interest. The circumstances will beconsidered by the Management Committee of the Association beforeany permission be granted to take part in Junior Football" 1. Has the Committee agreed to give such permission on a blanket basis? 2. Doesn't altering the Cup rules need the approval of a majority of the membership?
  20. Really? Only a few hours ago Pyramidic asked "Are you proposing to wind up the WRJFA?" You replied "I'm not proposing anything. The LL is proposing that. " Is your short-term memory failing you?
  21. But joining "en masse" is the WRSJFA's proposal, not the LL's. The LL's proposal is for interested clubs to apply. So the only people who want to disband the WRSJFA are the WRSJFA management committee. How is that hard to understand?
