I thought I’d enjoy Les Miserables because it looked amazing but the overwhelming feeling was “this would be much better if they were talking instead of singing about nicking bread”. I did enjoy The Book of Mormon though. I think that worked for me because the whole thing was ridiculous so the fact that they were singing made it funny rather than jarring. I do appreciate that my inability to like any serious or semi-serious musical for what it is is my own disability so I try to avoid rating them at all.

Watching the Gladbach game and definitely on the side of the fake crowd noise rather than against it.

Yup. I live in what is probably the second most ethnically diverse part of the country after Pollokshields and it’s still not very ethnically diverse. No commentary is attached to this fact other than people perceive immigration to be far higher than it actually is for some reason.

I’m not digging I’m being accurate. I have done my diversity training and Scottish people consistently overestimate the number of Muslims, black people etc. I also didn’t make any assumptions, I made a joke about Rab the Bruce.

Aye that Stirlingshire afro Caribbean community is famously significant. Perhaps at the uni but I’d wager the vast majority of black people in Scotland live in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen and even then it’s a tiny proportion of the overall population.
