  1. I’ve been posing as throbber for years just for the purposes of this thread, really hope I’ve not been rumbled. I did use two email addresses to fox the mods philomenamccann@hotmail.com and philomenamccann1@hotmail.com so it was an excellent coverup, worthy of the family name.
  2. Are you actually saying I’m related to the McCanns despite posting infrequently on this thread and being mainly concerned with people needing evidence before accusing parents of a crime? Then you’re pretending not to be a conspiraloon? This has jumped the shark. You have no admissible evidence supporting your theory and you seem totally obsessive in the way certain people are - starting with a belief, looking for facts to fit and not questioning sources. I think if you look through my posting history I also sometimes argue Al Qaeda perpetrated 9/11 and Steven Avery probably killed that woman, despite not being related to Osama or any inbred from Wisconsin.
  3. No I completely agree with this, when one famous actor shoots another instead of shaking his hand (trying not to spoiler despite the fact it came out in 2012) it really falls off a cliff. Had been gripping up until that point. I also think that Inglorious Basterds was mainly superb but Brad Pitt and the Basterds are chronic (aside from the Basterds in the basement without Pitt). I also think Landa’s character was made very stupid to justify a blood bath at the end. It’s like there’s one sensible and taut film called Shoshanna’s revenge going on and another ridiculous and hammy one called the Inglourious Basterds (again, except for the basement scene which was first class). Hateful Eight seemed like an intriguing whodunnit then everyone starts vomiting blood and it goes downhill. I need to watch Once Upon a Time in Hollywood again to reassess the ending of that, but it was another descent into fantastical violence to resolve the plot. It’s a definite theme with Tarantino’s 21st century works. Although I would say that even accounting for all the parts which don’t work his films are far more interesting than most of the shit hollywood generally churns out, mainly about superheroes. As a final point, a film like Kill Bill will never be my cup of tea so I wouldn’t call it overrated because I’ll never like anything in the non-stop kung fu fighting and wafer thin characters milieu.
  4. Translated by English c***s who read The Express and who have a clear agenda. Are you familiar with holocaust denial and the way they misinterpret certain German words? There is literally no evidence the McCanns did it, that remains a fact. The idea they managed it in the circumstances seems extremely fanciful. Now 13 years later they are struggling to find sufficient evidence that a German paedophile who actually looks increasingly likely for this and a number of disappearances did it.
  5. Peter Tobin not being convicted of being Bible John /=/ Peter Tobin is not Bible John.
  6. Yes and they all look like cheap trash run by nutbars. Not a credible site among them. It’s like when you google a scientology defector and get www.thetruthaboutleahremini.org.
  7. I also think that Neil seems like more of a dick in the Christmas Specials but at that stage he’s supposed to have seen David lying to Tim and Gareth about Neil slagging them off etc and is probably totally fed up of David hanging around the office post sacking and post compensation claim!
  8. When I say sketchy I mean www.themccannsdiditilluminati@freewebs.com
  9. When you google “PJ files” some extremely sketchy looking websites come up.
  10. I remember the Saddam statue coming down live on TV and the Bristolians do seem better than the US military at the operation. Good God that ended up being a tedious bit of TV.
  11. Shite tache, I grew a better Hitler (formerly known as a Chaplin) in the earlier stages of lockdown to maintain effective social distancing.
  12. They’ve fallen out. Also clear for a Karl Pilkington statue in Manchester.
  13. Stephen Merchant. And you wouldn’t even need a plinth to make it stand out.
  14. Did he actually give away “most of” his fortune? It’s just that all of the mega rich philanthropists you hear of past and present manage to stay mega rich despite their philanthropy and I would suspect Eddie the slaver would be the same.
  15. I’m trying to remember what my parents did in the 90s but the drugs they gave us to help us sleep clouds the memory of whether they went out or not.
  16. Mr Spock is half vulcan, half human. Anyway, discussion time - is Neil a good guy or a w**k? I generally lean towards good guy who is a dick to David because David is generally a dick and an irritant towards him, however his friendship with Finchy suggests w**k.
  17. Yeah I’d say it’s the most grown up of them all and most of his recent outings have been full of good stuff but marred by daft bloodbath endings (Django, Inglourious, Hateful Eight and Once Upon A Time). I would acknowledge Pulp Fiction is possibly better than Jackie Brown overall for me but I’ve over-watched it. The only two/three I’ve not particularly liked at all were the Kill Bills and Death Proof.
  18. Wrong, Reservoir Dogs is his best film. You spelled Jackie Brown* incorrectly. *Underrated movies thread for this pish
  19. Ok, keep fighting the good fight for justice.
  20. If you think that this is an egregious piece of negligent parenting you obviously haven’t worked in social work, family law or the criminal law.
  21. What do you think is the point of the criminal justice system? Simply punishment, particularly to give the public a petty sense of vengeance? If so, you’re around 200 years behind the times and (in any event) I’m guessing they have suffered pretty badly emotionally for having dinner near but outwith their apartment and checking regularly or irregularly, depending on who you believe. If you have moved out of the 1800s and think the point might be (1) rehabilitation - I’m guessing they have learned a lesson and won’t do it again (2) public protection - I reckon there is little threat to their other children or the wider population (3) serving an example/deterrent - I’m pretty sure seeing the disappearance of one of their children as a result of their actions more publicised than the Pistorius and OJ trials combined provides a greater deterrent to other tourists than criminal proceedings. What you have here is a borderline case of negligence where no public purpose would be served by seeking punishment and it would severely distract from the search for the truth of what happened. The impression would be “parents to blame, job done and don’t wear a short skirt if you don’t wanna be raped”. And yes, the victim being known to the driver is a mitigating factor in death by dangerous driving. Also in those cases there is a more direct connection between your negligence and the fatal act. A better analogy would appear now to be where you fail to put your child’s seatbelt on and a German paedophile causes death by dangerous driving.
  22. Yeah I assumed it was coincidence, was also an odd coincidence that I was short enough of things to do WFH today that I read the first 6 or so pages and saw all the initial speculation and arguments about parenting.
