  1. You’re right. Little Kerse wasn’t deemed suitable by the EOS so Syngenta did a last minute deal with dunipave which only became apparent on the night of the AGM.
  2. So this statement indicates that the Midland league will come under SJFA jurisdiction?
  3. Is this a mixed message or are Tayport still planning on going to the EOS? Have we seen anything official to say they are no longer interested in applying? We are guilty of believing everything in this forum but so much of it is speculation. Until the EOS tell us how many applications they have received (and that isn’t usually on the 1st April) we’re just guessing.
  4. Can we please refrain from putting up any more maps on here. The whole Luncarty debate provided enough grid references and maps to last a lifetime. If there are discussions taking place to form a Midland League then I am sure there will be boundaries set in the same way as the WOS and EOS have done recently. Tayport and Scone will fall into either the ML or EOS. We’ll find out which soon enough.
  5. I’ve not heard anything with regards to Cupar Hearts applying. It would be nice to have a couple of local rivals with Tayport but I’d be surprised.
  6. Absolutely. Really annoys me when people assume we’d be happy if a midland league was formed. I’m just frustrated that three years in and we still haven’t had a trip to Tweedmouth.
  7. You’re spot on BSSB. Maybe someone will correct me but I haven’t heard anyone from Coldstream, Tweedmouth or Peebles complaining about long journeys and they have to make one every fortnight. If you want to play in a local league go amateur.
  8. It was a red herring because it only applies to relegation from the SPFL to tier 5. At no point have the EOS said the line applies to them. It’s only on here that we’ve decided it does. The Orkney scenario still applies with the caveat that the EOS and WOS have agreed their respective borders. As I have said several times I don’t care whether the Tayside teams go the HL or LL route as long as they are in the pyramid. However if the EOS clubs are going to decline the Tayside applications it had better be because they don’t want a lopsided pyramid rather than because they can’t be arsed travelling to Tayside a few times a year.
  9. If this application is indicative of a lack of joint action from the Tayside clubs then I would fully expect Tayport to apply. It will be interesting to see how many more applications are received from North of the Tay. If these clubs genuinely don’t want to join a Highland feeder than they have two weeks to avoid being left in no mans land for another twelve months.
  10. So unless the EOS throw out Forfars application on the grounds they are above the HL/LL dividing line then it appears that Luncarty were a red herring and the pages and pages of pictures of maps and debates over lines of latitude on here a couple of years were a complete waste of time. Well, who knew?!?
  11. Personally, having always been in favour of playing this year in order to maintain the integrity of the pyramid I am now at the stage where I would be quite happy to see the season null and void and concentrate on having a full season next year.
  12. Every team needs to play 50% of their games for PPG to take effect. The most any team still needs to play to reach halfway is 7. At two games a week that is only four weeks. With three weeks for players to get fit to play that means we could resume training in the middle of May and still be finished for end of June.
  13. The Strollers application was a defensive one. They only applied because Glenrothes juniors had. I believe there was an issue because the juniors were trying to set up a youth set up in competition with the Strollers. I doubt they would try again.
  14. So are the EOS or HL actually engaging in dialogue with the Tayside clubs at the moment?

  16. Lateral flow tests can pick up other viruses as well. That’s why if you have a positive LTF test then you have to take a PCR test to confirm if you definitely have Covid. That’s why the SG are re hiring PCRs and not LTFs for football to restart:
  17. The SG are going to review the situation on Monday, speak to the leagues then hopefully issue a joint statement during the week.
  18. You’re right up to a point. Although Orkney was the given example this was in the context of the “Tayside question”. Obviously the Tayside teams are a different case to the WL sides. However this wasn’t an off the cuff remark. It has been made on more than one occasion. It is possible that the boundary discussions will lead to the EOS and WOS stating their definitive catchment areas which may or may not include Tayside. Again Burnie, you are right, even if Tayside applications are entertained the existing EOS clubs may vote to reject all of some of them.
  19. It would be good to be a fly on the wall at the EOS/WOS meeting as the quotes from Colin Boyd appear to encourage the interest from the East. Having said that, if the EOS are happy to accept applications from anywhere in Scotland then I suppose the WOS should be as well.
  20. As I said I doubt any applications have gone in this far in advance of the deadline. But who knows, maybe the Tayside teams are happy where they are. We’ll know more in April.
  21. It's long overdue that league boundaries are defined to remove any sort of ambiguity. The EoS board should have had a position on this without needing to go to members at AGM for each individual application. Same with WoS. You are spot on Burnie. Some Tayside teams have been under the misapprehension that they couldn’t apply to the EOS which has probably led to them being in limbo. Both the Tayside and West Lothian situations should be resolved by the leagues. Clubs should be asked their opinions on boundaries rather than voting on individual applications.
  22. The question is historic rather than current as it asks if any Dundee team had applied and been denied. As the deadline isn’t for another seven weeks I wouldn’t expect any applications to have gone in yet and don’t remember in each of the last three years the EOS haven’t commented on applications until after the deadline.
  23. That’s not new news. We all know which teams have applied and been rejected at previous AGMs. As has been said before we need some Tayside teams to apply to the EOS to put this subject to bed. I wouldn’t share Broughtys confidence of a successful application. If some of the posts on here are anything to go by it appears the Lothian teams won’t be backing any applications as it involves driving to games. Wasn’t a problem five years ago though.
  24. I'm not going to give away my identity or reveal my sources but it WAS stated at last year's AGM that any team in Scotland could apply to the EOS and that the HL/LL line only applies at tier 5. At no point have the EOS said that Luncarty were a special case. It's only on this forum that the whole "the ground is just over the dividing line" debate has taken place. That was a complete red herring and yet we are still debating it on here. I have no strong opinion on whether Tayside teams should be in the HL or LL catchment area. All I want is for all teams to be in the same pyramid system. You would think that I would want St Andrews to be in with the Tayside teams from a travelling point of view but as I have said many times in this forum I get really annoyed at everyone wanting to minimise travelling. We are professional football clubs who should accept that we need to drive for a couple of hours for games.
