  1. I believe Rod Petrie stated outright that the juniors would not be joining tier 6 this season due to the discipline issue and the fact that the East Region can not have a spilt superleague. HOWEVER. He also said that next season Ian Maxwell will have the final say on who gets to take part in the LL playoffs and apparently refused to rule out the winners of the junior leagues being selected to take part. So the juniors aren't in tier 6 next season but they may be!?!
  2. The EOS said months ago that they planned on conferences for next season with a hierarchical set up from the 2020/2021 season. I don't see how you can change the set up at the end of the season given that teams weren't aware that they if they finished in the bottom four this season they would end up in tier 8. For that reason we have to stick with the intended set up. The invitation to tonight's meeting states that there are three applications to consider, Glenrothes, the Strollers and Syngenta. Bar any last minute changes that will be it.
  3. I've said it before and I'll say it again. St Andrews do not have a problem with travelling to play a game of football. There's no point us slagging off the East region juniors for going back to local leagues and then doing the same with the EOS. Leagues should be selected on merit not location.
  4. Well done Broxburn. Good luck in the playoffs. Blackburn were outsiders a few weeks ago but over 30 games deserve their spot in the premier.
  5. There's no indication of any teams other than the three we know about applying. Although I would like to see all the east region juniors joining us I'm happy with the quality we already have in the EOS.
  6. St Andrews 1 Ormiston 1. We huffed and we puffed but needed a late equaliser to save a point. Just about over now.
  7. My understanding is that it is the other way around. I believe the Strollers are about to lose their oldest youth team to Glenrothes. With the Strollers amateur side disbanding we may need some sort of commitment from the Strollers that they are going to last in the EOS.
  8. I've spoken to David Baxter on a couple of occasions and he seems a very capable guy. Is this the Rod Petrie who sold off the Hibs team that demolished Kilmarnock in the League cup final, watched his side be relegated and kept boasting about how much money the club had?
  9. Disaster. St Andrews one up midway through the 2nd half when our keeper dropped a cross straight at the feet of a Preston player. It's going to be hard for Saints now.
  10. I should say that the Tayside question is completely blanked in this document. Si I assume if a Tayside team wins the East Region super League they would enter the LL playoff.
  11. It's official. SFA have proposed that there is a four way playoff for access to the Lowland League starting next season. The boards of the EOS AND Lowland League have proposed rejecting this proposal. They are consulting their clubs.
  12. That's a huge point for Preston. One win in their last two games could well be enough.
  13. St Andrews 0 Broxburn 1. Awful attempt at a clearance presents Broxburn with the opener.
  14. If the Tayside clubs are unwilling to be in the pyramid with the HFL then any move to cast them adrift under ERSJFA control is doomed to failure. Don't forget the Tayside teams have 19 votes to everyone else's 16. This is only a first meeting which could easily break up with no deal. For me I would like to see any changes made for the 20/21 season as there have been a few years recently where clubs have spent all season fighting for promotion/against relegation only for the set up to be changed due to reconstruction. Hopefully this season won't be the same.
  15. I still think only one guaranteed promotion spot from a 16 team premier isn't enough. And I can't see the SJFA allowing an amalgamation to happen. Hopefully I'm wrong.
  16. The question with that set up is do you have 4 teams relegated from 16(too much in my opinion) or do you only have one guaranteed promotion spot from the north and south(too little). I would only split the bottom tier.
  17. If the Tayside clubs don't want to join the north then the ERSJFA won't agree to it next week. Ideally they should move the boundary line and amalgamate the EOS and juniors. If the Lothian teams have three trips a year to Tayside and vice versa so be it. But how much pressure will TJ be putting on the East region before next week?
  18. I am a committed pyramid supporter and I have said before that I would like to see ALL clubs in the pyramid with a clear path of progression. But this obsession with not having to travel further than the end of the road really annoys me. Even with Glenrothes in the EOS St Andrews will have a minimum 20 mile journey for every game next season but we don't make a song and dance about it. Clubs should be looking to progress on and off the pitch as we are trying to do and creating a couple of wee local leagues isn't progression. But clubs shouldn't be moving to the EOS just to avoid travelling a few miles. JC1, any answers to the questions re 2nd new team, pyramid and Breadalbane?
  19. Who is the second new team in the South Premier? Any word on Breadalbane? Any word last night on the pyramid? Are teams playing each other four times a season? And finally how many cup competition s will there be? You could be playing the same side six times in a year.
  20. If that's right then the 31st March deadline for the EOS winner to be licensed will have to be put back.
