  1. I've heard good things about it but I object to Hollywood remaking great foreign films to accommodate those who are too lazy to read subtitles. Let The Right One In should have had a much wider release in the US instead.
  2. I watched Let The Right One In for the second time and still think it's fantastic. It's the most touching horror film I've ever seen.
  3. Interesting to see that Netflix have bought the new jungle book film, Mowgli from Warner Brothers. Surely they have to release it in cinemas, especially as there will be a 3D version.
  4. I appreciate there may be some teams in the Lower reaches of the pyramid and juniors who don't pay wages but if the amateurs join the pyramid en masse at some point you are going to have teams that pay their players directly above amateur divisions. So what happens if a professional side is relegated to an amateur league? For me there should be no more labels within the pyramid. Senior, junior, amateur should all go. We're all football teams. If some clubs don't want to pay players so be it but they don't need their own leagues. Those who want to remain in their own labelled set ups should do so out with the pyramid.
  5. So if a professional team is relegated from tier 10 into an amateur division in tier 11 will they have to become an amateur side?
  6. Just seen an interview with Tayport boss Charlie King in which he admits that his side have missed out on several signings as they wanted to give the EOS a try. He also says that Tayport had a few chats about moving but didn't seriously consider it.
  7. True. If our cup form is the same as last season's we won't have to worry about any further trips. But had we found ourselves in the same conference as three borders teams I would have welcomed the adventures to new grounds, not whinged about the cost of buses. If the Super League set up remains for at least a further season and Bathgate or Pumpherston win the South this year will they decline promotion?
  8. Am I missing something? Are we playing football in Russia or China? Then we could be worrying about distances to travel. Bathgate choosing to play in the bottom division because they're unwilling to travel 60 miles to play a football game?!? Regionalisation should only be in the bottom division of the pyramid. One of the reasons I am happy to leave the juniors is this obsession with avoiding travelling reasonable distances. I'm looking forward to trips to the Borders, not stressing about them.
  9. Cheers. But could you not have told me at the start of the series:)
  10. It's got to be Stranger Things. The 80s vibe, the kids and Winona Ryder's acting make this a must see. Series 1 of Dark was really good(Netflix's first German drama) but I hate dubbing. And I need to watch more of Samurai Gourmet, completely different but every episode makes my mouth water.
  11. Rams An Icelandic film in which two brothers who run neighbouring sheep farms haven't spoken to each other for decades fall out even further when their sheep contract scabies. Different.
  12. They have so effectively it's been a takeover of a well run amateur team. Although at least it's been to our benefit because our pitch is being superbly looked after by Star's former groundsman. And I believe the rental figure for Bayview was the problem. I don't know if that's the end of the matter but I hope so as Treaton Park is a cracking ground.
  13. Yes. And it's also interesting that all the talk is of Kennoway and not Star.
  14. You're right Mark did move to Carnoustie. However we have a new volunteer taking over so the programmes will be back for this season.
  15. Is it possible the five South Challenge cup first round ties will be played that day as well? The second round is on15th September.
  16. So I'm assuming our new dawn won't start until the 31st July sob!!
  17. That only gives you 15 teams in the first round. Six best runners up makes more sense.
  18. Missing four I think. Hawick, Leith, Peebles and Tweedmouth from Pot 1 not accounted for yet. Which group are St Andrews in???
  19. Does anyone know if the League Cup is being drawn tonight?
  20. Well I had hoped for an away trip in one of the cups to a ground I hadn't been to. Instead we come out the hat four times all at home. But at least I'll be visiting seven new grounds in the league. I can't wait for the fixtures to come out.
  21. I take it the second round is due to be played on the 15th September. So the first round should be August.
  22. Lothian Thistle and then Spartans!! I hope our luck improves as the draws go on.
  23. I agree. Until the East Region know how many teams are left there's not much they can do with regards to league set ups for next season and I'm sure that any lobbying of clubs thinking about leaving would have been done in private.
  24. I'm not sure what you mean. Are you upset because saints reversed their decision to stay with the juniors and have applied to the EOS? As for finding out on the grapevine the decision was on here and our Facebook on Wednesday evening within hours of the meeting ending.
