  1. Lochar v. Stranraer was sometime after Feb 6th 2016 if it happened as it was further postponed.
  2. https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/sport/football/highland-league/highland-league-secretary-rod-houston-explains-new-format-of-competitions-as-teams-gear-up-for-return/ Some idea on how they're looking to arrange the League Cup groups for the season ahead.
  3. How they handle the draws will impact things as well. The last few years they've drawn the next round before the current one has completed. That's seen unseeded teams take on the higher seeding. If that stays in place then the SC winner/3rd placed could take on seeding of their ELQ3 opponenet for the ECL playoff. Since ELQ3 is 3x Cup Winners/3rd place teams and 3x losers from the CL league path they'd likely be higher seeds than whoever Scotland produces for the spot. It'd likely be a very small advantage if it happened by that point though.
  4. No clue where Glasgow University will ultimately place. With them being 9/16 there's not much room to fall. They usually fair reasonably against the lower level teams in the cups, so I don't see them finishing bottom that's for sure. I don't see why they won't settle into a similar sort of performance as the unis in the EoSFL.
  5. On the https://www.eosfl.com/ homepage. RESTART UPDATE - 30 August " The Return to Playing process is on -going. We expect to get the agreed Scottish FA protocols next midweek. These are hopefully now being signed off with the Scottish Government. This is all a matter of timing between giving clubs the detail and time to implement, and using the most up to date versions. If we had been asked to use the version before those now being negotiated, they would have been prohibitive at our level of the game. There will still be challenges to face, particularly around changing rooms/spaces. As we did with Return to Training, we will send you a Checklist to sign off that you have put the necessary protocols in place. We will get this to you as soon as we know the detail of what is required. Permissions for any friendly games will be given only on completion and return of the Checklist. That is for everybody's benefit, including the Leagues who need to be confident they are giving permission safely. We have been told by Scottish FA to use a common-sense approach to what constitutes " local friendlies ". This will differ from area to area so we are advising ; ANY GAMES WITH UP TO 25 MILES ONE WAY TRAVEL FINE, BETWEEN 25 AND 50 BASED ON BRIEF EXPLANATION AND OVER 50 ONLY IF JUSTIFIED The various Zoom meetings organised over next few days will only be able to give high level information, however this will be invaluable in getting you ready to put in place what you will need. Most likely further Zoom meetings will be needed once detail of protocols known. Pyramid Restart Group. "
  6. I was going to mention some of the others. Not sure how much Drumchapel United count, since it was Drumchapel United PYM and they're still keeping the amateur side going. Does that mean it's kind of a new team entirely? And then do you add Linlithgow Rose Community's amateur results? Bo'ness United Juniors under the Linlithgow Thistle amateur name?
  7. Up for me. Possibly being rejigged. http://scotscores.theroonba.com/
  8. If this is going to be a 'live' table once the season starts, then Glasgow University will sort itself. I doubt anyone is gaining a larger enough advantage/disadvantage by their current standing. Going down the amatuer rabbit hole, would mean adding Rothie Rovers amatuer games as well
  9. Some of them have went with the "if it's good enough for Boca Juniors, it's good enough for us" approach. Typically, I try to go with whatever the official league website go with. Since they're meant to know these things.
  10. This is the important thing about the erasure of different "grades". At the lowest level of Junior/Senior leagues the clubs are basically amateurs in all but name. Its just a case of getting decent facilities in place.
  11. I don't think those lights at St Andrews work, certainly not suitable for games at any rate. St Andrews were one of those clubs that met all the SFA Licencing criteria at back in 2018-19. but failed on the late introduction of the floodlight requirement. EDIT: Whitehill are working on getting there's up. Should be up in time for the new season. Not sure how far long in the process they are. Last update I remember was putting in the concrete foundations.
  12. Plenty of clubs have gone into a form of abeyance/non playing membership over the years. For some that's potentially what this time period will be.
  13. I think the couple of tweaks have improved things. Major problem at this point is just the incomplete season with recent form being so important. Like Queen of the South shouldn't be as low as 28th but they hadn't won since 28th December 2019. If the season had been completed I imagine they would have climbed. From a quick glance it's gotten to a point where maybe the lower division team chasing for the championship/promotion will be favoured over the team above battling relegation for the most part. Which is fair enough. The one real anomaly to me at this point is Glasgow University. Now they're in a senior league that'll resolve itself once the season starts.
  14. In a league body like the West Region which has divisions, historical ranking is relevant to current strength. As the divisional opponents will be tougher the higher the division gets. So you are unlikely to get the same level of consistency the higher the division. If you had Irvine Meadow and Blantyre Victoria of 2019-20 switch their last 10 fixtures. On paper you would expect Irvine to do better than Blantyre did and Blantyre to do worse than what Irvine did.
  15. SoSFL also saying they hope to announce their fixture list by 12th September, but the Lowland League have to go first. Should be hearing something in the next couple of weeks.
  16. It'll be easier for the SoSFL to get done certainly. 26 league games. Only 12 of the 14 play in the South Region Challenge Cup and most will be expected to get knocked out in their first game unless they get a favourable draw. The Southern Counties only amounts to 4-5 games max. If any of the teams break 30+ games from those 3 compettions they'll be doing well. Disappointeed and totally understandable there's no Alex Jack Cup or Alba Cup. Would be a nightmare to organise around non-SFA members while maximising league games, but its also another sign that the Scottish Cup will be a condensed format with limited non-league participation.
  17. I think most people would agree to the basic summary. Not sure what it would take to finesse out some of the small issues that pop when some clubs have been part of the same structure. In which case there's actual practical evidence that a club should be higher than another. Like 53. Blantyre Victoria and 54. Irvine Meadow. They're in the same league now, but Irvine Meadow have been playing at a higher level the last 3 years than Blantyre. It's also not like Meadow were in relegation battle in the West Premiership while Blantyre in a promotion fight from the Championship that would suggest the two would be so close.
  18. I looked up ELO once it was mentioned to try and figure out how it might of been done, and it went right over my head. So its not nitpicking not criticising. Having followed College Football over the years I was relatively happy over the switch to a committee for the Playoffs over the BCS system used. Although I would say a committee has a different set of flaws by favouring established teams reputation. The .1% of a difference on 2487 for Montrose and .1% of a difference on 2483 for Raith Rovers. Could be enough to swing it back in Raith's favour.
  19. They've been in the same league for the past two seasons and Raith finished above on both occasions. The other two seasons Raith were a Championship/League One side while Montrose were in League Two. Which also means they've played each other the last two years. With the record favouring Raith with 4 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss. Don't remember either being particularly great in cups in the last 4 seasons but at least Raith have made the Challenge Cup final for 2019-20. With only 4 points between them to me it looks like a playoff season in 2016-17 in League Two for Montrose swings things compared to Raith's relegation season 2016-17 from the Championship.
  20. By the time I clocked 25. Montrose 26. Raith Rovers I gave up.
  21. Think its more about ensuring a complete league season over anything else.
  22. Brora are only one club and that's the price of being the League champion. At least Betfred Cup brings prize money. SPFL Challenge Cup & Scottish Cup are possible and again bring in prize money. That just leaves the Highland League Cup with a group stage that hasn't been confirmed publicly how many games will be played in the groups and the North of Scotland Cup is typically a midweek filler for local clubs. The Highland League also has to have their champion determined in time for the SPFL playoff which isn't the same concern for the EoSFL. The Lowland League Playoff will likely be scheduled a few weeks later than the SPFL playoff.
  23. What the EoSFL are saying about the restart at the moment. Main takeaways at the moment is that the South Challenge Cup and King Cup are the only cups planned for right now.
  24. 17th October start. For their champion to finished in time for the SPFL playoff they'd be targeting a 17th April finish. Gives them 27 weekends to work with.
