  1. That was a cracker, really nice guy too. I recall a bullet diving header from Graeme Sharp, off an Ally Brown cross, at Annfield and a perfect route1 goal by Owen Coyle vs Clyde at Firhill - goalie kick out, Gerry McCoy header and Coyle volley without the ball touching the ground. Hoof's own half free kick v Arbroath wasn't a thing of beauty but the elation of the crowd was unreal
  2. Absolutely, still failed the audition for Masterchef though
  3. Walking across the Common was like walking on lasagne with crisps on top
  4. I didn' t - not sure I could have coped with that! Totally agree about Eels - so many good songs but the last 2 times I've seen them they've been crap. Only caught firstfew Walkmen numbers - good but painfully loud for an old geezer like me. John Murry was shambolic - I love him but am genuinely fearful for him. B&S were a good way to end the festival, sending folk away happy - that stage wasn't there the last time I was at EotR so its growing bigger - was that your 6th EotR or 6th festival?
  5. Just back from End of the Road - glorious weather and a really enjoyable festival. David Byrne & St Vincent was the best show I saw. Dawes the best band and honourable mentions to Allo Darlin', Mark Mulcahey, RM Hubbert, Frontier Ruckus and Palma Violets
  6. John Murry, you know it makes sense! Don't know many of the bands at all, I suspect we'll spend most of Saturday at the main stage, although the Garden Stage is probably my favourite area.
  7. Aye, looks like most of what I want to see will be clashing on Sunday evening!! Went to Green Man a couple of years ago - it was really good (but apparently we were lucky with hardly any rain - very unusual). Bigger than EotR, but still a very laid back atmosphere, and line-up looks good this year. We went Bristol (air) -> Cardiff (train) -> Abergavenny (train) with hardly any delay with connections (but luck to get on final train which was mobbed). You could train it all the way via Manchester Picadilly. I'd certainly recommend Green Man to anyone
  8. Thanks for the offer, a cup of vodka would leave me unconscious for the weekend! We're not getting there until Friday afternoon, so hope I don't miss John Murry.
  9. Aye, crackin venue, not excited by lineup, but there's always something good that you haven't seen before. Really nice vibe to it though!
