  1. I don't know who makes the decisions re the design of our kit but someone needs to have a word with them, especially about the away kit. I personally have always considered yellow to be our away colour and agree it would also have been the sensible choice from the POV of colour clashes. The grey thing is horrible imho. Ok as a casual top for those who like that sort of thing but never a football top. At least it isn't red though.
  2. He was indeed. Great to see him performing so well. Great control and movement, passed the ball well. Hope he stays injury free. We were good today. At risk of sounding negative on such a positive day I thought Falkirk would be a real test but they were woeful. Hugely encouraging though. Dobbie's two goals from open play were great. One great move and a superb solo effort. Great day out!
  3. I wonder how much or often our guys practice them.
  4. Good communication and quick thinking pays dividends I guess.
  5. Totally agree re throw-ins. Isn't it the case that you can't be offside from a shy? Sure it used to be the case unless I'm suffering from false memory syndrome. Quick, long throws are a tactic we don't see enough of imho and like you Mr X I've been frustrated by the quality of ours in recent seasons.
  6. Felt Kane looked a bit off the pace at Tannadice. Hardly surprising though given his lack of game time.
  7. Have to also say though that when Stirling came on I'd have been expecting him to visibly be doing some reorganising. Makes me wonder.
  8. Didn't think we looked so bad today despite losing to 10 men. Life goes on. Sad to say that Stephen looked off the pace and I had a sinking feeling when they took Lyle off and left him on. Not often I'd say it but I'd have left Lyle on and taken Dobbie off. For me the whole way the game went gives some credence to those who say we need another creative midfielder. No-one, on a Dobbie off day, looked like unpicking that defence today. On the bright side, I thought Rankin played well and given we have a youthful defence both Fordyce and Brownlie deserve some credit for their performances. Jacobs continues to be solid too. There's a gap between midfield and the front though that needs filled and I'm not convinced Danny's the man to do it. Guess that's what everyone's been saying.
  9. Stop that right now SD. It makes me queasy even said in jest.
  10. I'm aghast at the mentality of 'fans' who boo players that way. Inexcusable really. I wonder how they'd feel if I followed them around at their work telling them what a shite job they're doing. Great for morale, that.
  11. Can't say I'm sorry to hear that. McLean looked way off the pace on Saturday. So did Faddy right enough but at least we know there's a player in there, albeit an elderly one!
  12. Well that today did little for my confidence. On the bright side I thought both Stirling and Rooney looked decent.
  13. Do we know yet if the EK game will be home or away?
  14. On the few occasions I've seen Atkinson play I've been very taken with his distribution. Would indeed be interesting to see him give a chance if only to see how he compares to Lee in that department.
  15. I think it's Danny's last touch that needs working on.
  16. For what it's worth I've always found the staff at Dumbarton a very personable bunch and the 50/50 included in parking costs is a good thing. If that's a reflection of fan involvement then I approve.
