  1. Thanks for the message, but it wasnt my birthday recently, but the birthday of our President.
  2. Defo,I thought we played not too bad last week, the signs are there that we are improving bit by bit Daring to hope worst is past.
  3. You've changed your tune Wouldve been great to measure progress today
  4. Gordon Strachan named George Dickson as the hardest player he had ever seen. Gerry was the best midfielder going at the time. How the mighty have fallen, no disrespect to lads trying so hard just now,
  5. 12/1 at home against Darvel. I sincerely hope Im wrong, but I dont think youve much to fear. 3 months now, see how things go tomorrow, clock ticking, need some light at the end of a long tunnel.
  6. Ill need to ensure my affairs are in order. Another big dunt on Saturday. Cotter in a comment above said some clubs never recover- impossible to imagine such a fate happening to us, but this experience is way beyond anything weve ever experienced before and reminiscing about past glories and history isnt really cutting it. Hoped to have seen at least some light by now. How long?
  7. Tremendously saddened to hear of the passing of our ex-player Davy Booth. If memory serves me correctly, I think we got him from Baillieston. Great player and a lovely guy.
  8. Maybe Ill wake up and it was all a dream. It worked for Bobby Ewing. Or, I may have died without realising it and am in fact in purgatory. 100 years coming of getting thrashed every week
  9. Ha Ha. Wife would be first up to watch. Then the Albert committee
  10. Impossible to be remotely positive. Big difference from competing and losing by a goal to being hopelessly uncompetitive and getting hammered every week- with no end in sight.
  11. A first-ever win for St Rochs at the Gasworks and Id be jumping off the viaduct
  12. Its happening to us EVERY WEEK, with no end in sight, despite the praise for "effort ". BTW WE ARE the oldest team.
  13. Very well said,it's a sad day when junior clubs can pay more than the seniors, but that's the way football is going sad imo Thats not what is being claimed, the amount is irrelevant. What is being claimed is that the players were not being paid, at least until the season end. What is beyond dispute is that a serious chasm developed between the officials and the playing staff / management. Because of the situation we now have sides taking a pop at one another- see our website & social media. Totally unheard of in our history, we now have a group of ex-players who unlike their predecessors ( many distinguished names amongst them ) do not revere our cherished colours. All ex-players and mangers should be thanked & praised. Terrible.
  14. Now see players having a pop back. Sad. Hardly likely to help enticing new players to the club
  15. The club website clearly states dissatisfaction with the effort shown by the previous squad in the last game of last season , following issues. Really sad it came to that, clearly a massive breakdown- to lose a whole playing staff and management.
  16. Interesting if belated statement on the Club website tonight. Seems to answer some questions but raises others; what seems clear is a breakdown in relationships between the officials and the playing staff. Should have been issued at the start of the season.
  17. We are not in ruins, remember that Yes we most certainly are. How bad does is have to get?
  18. Not going to disagree with that,on your last point Derek knew at interview what he was getting into Conundrum here- is it true he belatedly tried to contact some of last seasons squad? If the Club knew , why wasnt an experienced Junior manager whose immediate contacts could have steadied the ship appointed? Bobby Crilly for example wasnt everyones cup of tea, but we were a force then, regularly in finals and established in the top league. Plenty candidates out there. Larkhall Thistle used to be a " name ". Tomorrow we play the Glens. Prior to this season, I can recall few , if any, clashes that were not settled by 1 goal margins either way. Now after the fixture we could have possibly lost 16 goals ( or more ) if we go down by another 7. I am very uneasy, this downward spiral is way beyond any Larkie experience, am I the only one who think this? One of the greatest clubs is in ruins.
  19. A reaistic answer to my question. To lose a whole team, there HAS to be a really fundamental reason , rather than only playing for the manager, which , if true, is a totally damning admission of the situation in itself. Some clarity from the Club would help
  20. If you are a season ticket holder these questions can be asked at the AGM,hopefully the committee will gladly provide you with these answers Given the extent of the crisis, shouldnt the Club be communicating how we got here, and what the plan is? Pretty basic stuff
  21. Questions still remain- why did we lose a full team? Something very, very wrong. The Gow signed 5 of them and ae in the Sectional Cup Final. In years past, we were in that final frequently. I believe the pool of players we had were better than showed. Given their loss, what plan was put in place? Why are we persevering with a failed poiicy? Are we really prepared for weekly hammerings ? Does nobody comprehend the dangers? A 140 -year history reduced to a laughing stock?
  22. The young players ( not their fault ) are way short at this level. One or two might come through, but to expect otherwise is simply delusional. More humiliations ae going to kill their careers.
