  1. I said "strongest". As in it's better than the defence we're severely lacking in, and the forwards that we don't really have either. You do get the concept of relativity in that sense, don't you? If Gauld turns out to be the creative midfielder he has the potential to be, then he could easily fit into the system we play. I know that doesn't fit your admittedly well structured agenda, but them's the breaks Kenny doll.
  2. Ryan Gauld - the creative midfielder - will not fit into the system that gets the most out of our strongest area. The midfielders. Swing and a miss.
  3. I'm on the fence about that. In a way, I like that the things that change the story aren't overtly signposted. It feels a bit more organic that way, rather than showing in big flashing lights that this is a big branch in the story. Ending wise, I've had the same one in both playthroughs... I've not really gotten into Blood and Wine in great detail yet, but good lord it looks good. A nice bit of humour in the story too. Writing continues to be fantastic.
  4. We pick older players because, and I'll try and make this clear, we do not have younger players good enough to displace them. How can some people not see that? If there was the talent, they would be picked. He doesn't pick Gordon Greer because he fancies him and dreams about long walks down the beach at Largs, he picks him because he's one of the best options we have in his position. He'd love to have someone better. The "setting up not to lose" argument is a fallacy too. Levein was setting us up not to lose when he put us out 4-6-0. Strachan puts us out more positively than that, we're just not good enough generally. Funnily enough, had we set ourselves up not to lose against Georgia, we may well have actually won.
  5. Just finished Hearts of Stone. No spoilers, but apart from the slightly weak ending, think it gives you the best quest-line they've ever done in the Olgierd one. Got pretty dark towards the end too, towards Dark Souls/Silent Hill territory. Bought Blood and Wine last night, and probably managed to download about half a gig of it. Just going to work through the quests I have left to give a clean slate, then maybe make a dent in the hundreds of undiscovered locations (seriously, there's so many), then looking forward to getting started on it.
  6. When it's comments like this flying around, sensible discussion has clearly beaten a hasty retreat. Jesus... Actually, I'll humour this, and show exactly what we do have to lose. For the current World Cup qualifying, we were in pot 3 after narrowly missing out on pot 2. Say we went along your plan of just playing the youth instead of all others for the past four years, since we failed to qualify for World Cup 2014. We've lost a lot, and we've slipped to 78th in the World. We're now at a record low (previous was 77th) and with a final defeat in a qualifier before the draw, we're confirmed to be in pot 4 for the World Cup qualifying. We then draw Germany, France, Sweden, Cyprus and Kazakhstan (or some other similar nightmarish draw). The youths aren't coming on as you hoped they would, and we pick up 8 points out of a possible 30, only beating Cyprus and Kazakhstan at home, and drawing the two away games. We lose to everyone else, and slip further down the rankings. The Euros don't use rankings, but our previous youth-only policy has hurt our coefficient there too. We find ourselves in pot 5, and with only the top 2 qualifying, we find ourselves in another nightmare draw. We lose every match against pot 1, 2 and 3, scrape two draws against pot 4, then get turned over by new bottom pot side Kosovo. Twice. We finish bottom of the group, which sees us drop out of the top 100 in the rankings, and sit comfortably in the middle of pot 5. Another terrible draw sees us with Georgia as out pot 6 side, and they make it a hat-trick of wins in Tbilisi. We finish bottom of our 2022 qualifying group, winning only once, and find ourselves staring the bottom pot in the face. But aye, right enough, we have absolutely nothing to lose.
  7. Yeah, not like he was comfortably one of the best possible talents in a generation for Wales or anything. It's just because they were one short from their Teamer list. Ryan Gauld is not as talented as Gareth Bale was. He could still be a very important player for Scotland, but not important enough to do what they did with him. And they haven't. Quite rightly.

  9. You say that, but rumours are circling about Liberty City being rendered in the GTA V engine. Screenshots surfaced of one area (pretty boring ones to be honest) being done in the new engine, so maybe they're planning on doing something with that. I'd doubt it though to be honest, GTA Online is too much of a cash cow I imagine.
  10. Would there be an argument for re-signing Miller as a center back? I don't remember him being that bad when he deputised there, but I guess we would be wanting a natural center back to replace Seabourne, and then he'd probably end up stuck behind him.
  11. Ah, good news. Thought I'd missed the early bird. And good on the league cup game too, at least we get something. I don't imagine they'll be charging full price for any other games either.
  12. Just renewed for 308 - did I miss the early bird price? Also, have they said what's happening around the League Cup games? I know we've still no idea which ones will be at home, and assume no games will be on the ticket, but wondered if they'd mentioned.
  13. For the full game? Pretty good. It's like FM in terms of value - you're paying 20 quid for a lot of hours of play. Definitely worth it compared to what you might pay for other games.
  14. Last basketball game I had was on the Game Gear.
  15. Imagine being such an unbalanced VL that your reaction to being told a game is being delayed is to threaten to kill the guy who told you... It's by no means only this game - a lot of the gaming community is like that - but there definitely seems to be more of it around this. If it does flop, it's going to be hilarious and terrifying at the same time.
  16. I imagine Styles will get a win at MITB, maybe clean, maybe through shenanigans, then the Big Match John Express will roll through him at Battleground and Summerslam. Of course, they could set it up to really put Styles over as a heel if he gets the opener, then Cena gets back, and then Styles goes over at Summerslam in a high profile match. Or a double turn at SS. Lol.
  17. Yeah, what is this Hatch thing? The way they were talking, it was going to be revealed on RAW. Then nothing was, unless I've missed it.
  18. I switched it on yesterday (post-update, pre-B&W) and it's like playing a different game. Projekt Red really deserve credit for consistently amending their game post release. A lot of companies release bug fixes (although not enough) but not a lot take on-board issues with how they've presented things and make fixes there. I think the menu and inventory screens have changed pretty drastically on every single update. It's much easier to use now, and a lot of the tiny text has been enlarged. Didn't think I could love this game any more. I just completed the main quest again a couple of days ago, and then started Hearts of Stone last night. Will try and get through that, then add Blood and Wine once I'm done.
  19. It begins I want it to be good, I really do, but nothing I'm seeing has put me off the opinion that this is going to be a massively hyped flop.
  20. I'm surprised they're announcing it like this. A brand split could have been a brilliant storyline if it was treated as one. Now it seems to be treated more like a business decision. It's going to be a good thing though. At the moment it's just RAW-lite, with a number of rematches, but the brand split is going to make sure there is little chance of that. It's going to be the only place you see certain wrestlers, and probably end up being a more focused show given they'll - presumably - only have two hours to fill. I don't think it can really be a bad thing for Smackdown, but could be a knock to RAW. In terms of titles, I wouldn't bring back the WHC, but I would look at the mid-card titles. Split the United States and Intercontinental Titles across the two shows (give Smackdown the IC), then give one show the tag titles, the other one the Womens. That gives each show two titles to have regular feuds over, and lets them build up an identity. You want to see Tag Team wrestling? Go to RAW. You want to see the Indy Darlings and their high flying offence? Go to Smackdown. Then have the WWE title sit across both shows. Ideally you've got the champion on one show and the number one contender on the other, but it can shift around. I'd probably like the Womens title to do the same, but not sure they've got the depth to split the women across two shows. One out-there suggestion, why not bring back a title or two? Maybe bring back the Cruiserweight title after their tournament, then - just as an example - the European title. Or anything, even a new one. You can then take out the two main titles (WWE and Womens), maybe even the same with the tag titles, and split the new across the shows. I just feel like the way they treat the midcard titles currently, they wouldn't be able to sustain much interest in a show that only really had that title as an exclusive. It all depends on who goes where though. I'm looking forward to it.
  21. It would if he was instead going after the US Title, which he did so well with last time.
  22. I had hoped that Rollins would come back and claim he deserved a shot, which would lead to a number one contenders match at some point over the next few weeks. That would've been a brilliant match, and you can have Rollins go over (or go dusty and have a triple threat if they really must). Looks like he's out though. I hope it'll be Balor, have the Club turn on him and Balor appear. It'd be a great feud. The next Takeover is June 8th, with MITB on the 19th, so definitely potential for him to lose to Joe and move up. Cena is probably going after Rusev to pants him again. Wyatt could be an outside shot. He needs another random attack on a face that he ends up losing to in the long run. I really doubt they would, but Wyatt could learn a lot from a veteran like him, and I don't think it'd be that bad if Styles was to come in and put him over.
