Such is the fabulous success of His Majesty's Government's handling of the economy, and the commitment to world leading public services, one find one's self amazed that no countries are publicly stating their desire to leave the EU and take advantage of the boundless opportunities offered by being run from Westminster. Ireland will obviously be first, but it's only a matter of time before others like France and Germany join the queue.

IIRC correctly, dross is what is left at the bottom of a sack of coal. She'll probably want him to get fracked.

The economy is unstable and the markets and Bank of England are not going along with HMG's plan. The party of Government appears to be in open rebellion and 'no confidence' letters are seemingly pouring into the 1922 Committee. The main headline on the website of what I understand is Britain's top selling paper is about Willoughby and Schofield being booed at an awards ceremony. Never underestimate the tactics that will be used by the Tory/Unionist press to play the 'don't look over here, look over there' cards.

I think it's worse than that. If His Majesty's Government loses in the Supreme Court, the slimy b*****ds in Westminster will just change the legislation.

Rangers' Wee Spot in Europe - Season 2023/24

All things considered, I'd rather have watched a Trump rally - at least I'd have had a laugh. Come to think of it, there were times tonight I did laugh. -
Rangers' Wee Spot in Europe - Season 2023/24

18/1... Sounds fair... I'll take a scrappy, sclaffed, own goal in the 90+4 minute for a 1-0 home win. -
To me the key issue is summed up in my signature. It's not a complicated point. If it's claimed to be a voluntary union, but the Scottish Government can't ask the population at a time of its choosing, based on an electoral mandate, if they want to leave that union, it simply isn't voluntary and those claiming it IS voluntary are simply liars with their undergarments aflame. Thankfully I can't recall seeing that ludicrous "it's voluntary" BS around this forum (feel free) but the attitude of the Government and the non-nationalist parties seems to be full of it.

I don't have a quote of what she said, but I was a bit uneasy when she talked about the support for energy bills being public expenditure. That being the case, "public expenditure" levels might well be maintained, but the energy cap costs included in that total would need to be met from other unprotected budgets. The axe is going to fall somewhere and I don't think it's going to be pretty.

I have suspected for a while that ET isn't the brightest star in the Commons, but it was a bit worrying that she seemed to think "Prime Ministers Questions" is about the Prime Minister ASKING questions. Apart from asking questions in response to questions she was asked, her "go-to" response appear to be 'energy crisis'.

I've been wondering about the approach the anti-Truss MPs will take. Should they go for the straight in, sliding tackle, studs up into the shin brutal approach? Or, rather, should they take the the pish-ripping, couldn't get laid in a brothel, you don't know what you're doing, laugh in her face, route? I've had a thought for a while that the powerful (even if it's in a "name only" sense) are used to the so-called tough questioning by journalists and are trained in how to deal with it, but they just can't take being laughed at. Maybe just start with laughing and pointing and take it from there?

Will we see headlines like this? "HORROR AS MILITANT UNION SMASHES DECENCY IN PAY NEGOTIATIONS BY STRIKING, HOLDING COUNTRY TO RANSOM BY FORCING 15% PAY OFFER!" https://www.theguardian.com/law/2022/oct/10/barristers-in-england-and-wales-vote-to-end-strike-action Can't wait to hear Westminster Government ministers condemning the unmitigated greed of such a militant bunch of troublemakers. Just take the words used to describe railway workers and see if they appear in Government comments on the Barristers.

Should make the next PMQ's and FMQ's a bit feisty, eh? Be interesting to hear the Tories explain why everyone ought to love them instead.
