Anyone from “the rangers” that were there to do their homework on us must still be laughing as they drive back up the 74. They’ll be looking to take a barrow load off us.

Rrrrright ok, a lot (me included) have been calling for us to go back to a 4-4-2 which we finally did today but what's with playing FOUR centre halves as our back line and a right back as right mid. Then there was Danny on the left and Paton on the bench. What is McIntyre thinking about our good team from last year is pressing the self destruct button big time. I fear for Tuesday, heaven knows what team or formation he'll play.

I wish a few of ours had bet on themselves beating Alloa the other week. We might have at least tried a bit harder.

IF the manager uses the full squad at his disposal I don't see it being a problem!

That's the difference between pre-season friendly’s and competitive league games.

McShane and Splatters are at least 2 years younger than Kev, Time will tell.

I'm not suggesting he walks straight into the team, in fact I'd go as far as to say McShane could be a better prospect.

My take on things after yesterday is that Durnan must play, he offers us a far better physical presence both while we defend and when we attack at set pieces. As for the midfield, to start with yesterday our central three were not at the races. When young was introduced and we went to 4-4-2 we looked so much better. My preferred central pairing would be the same as last season with Young and McKenna. Kevin, as and when his clearance comes through would be a straight swap for either Young or McKenna. The wide players, well it's 2 from three between Danny, Paton and Burns. With the strikers again I think it's any 2 from 3. I think so far the manager has been a little unfair on Russell as he's never been played through the middle which is where he's made his name. With Reilly, we saw yesterday he brings the energy and speed that allows us to press further up the park. Lyle has lots of experience to offer but yesterday he was so isolated and more often than not when the ball went up to him it just came straight back. There's no doubt we have goals in the team I think the manager just needs to get us solid and settled at the back to give us a platform to push on from. In this league we’ve already seen that mistakes will be punished and it’s difficult to chase a game when you go behind. Hopefully McIntyre will have learned a lot yesterday and we will see the benefits starting on Tuesday.

Aye you're right. He should have just said it as it was on the day. We defended atrociously, our midfield struggled against a youthful energetic Livi one and up front although we scored three we were sluggish! Work in progress as far that display goes.

On tuesday I would be looking to start all those on the bench yeasterday and play McGuffie and Durnan at the back as neither Dowie or Higgins seem to have any confidence at the moment.

Nicholson will sign for Killie, he's the type of player they're looking for, lots of experience and FREE.

Impressive and long may it continue.

On Saturday McGuffie should have played there or McShane who played the role well in the pre-season friendly at Annan. Both MuGuffie and Burns played in positions they've probably never played in before, during their careers

A win is a win and we're through to the next round but yesterday we were well below the standard of our last two performances against Hearts and St Mirren. With a number of players below the standards we've come to expect. Best for us were McKenna,Mitchell,Young and Holt. I know we kept a clean sheet but our defensive display fills me with fear for the season ahead

So who's our first choice 11?
