I think it's you that needs to explain yourself! I stated that at Annan we played one formation which was different to the one we used yesterday. I asked you to show me were I said Danny and Paton were not playing as wingers and you haven't. I've never mentioned that the squad did or didn't need strengthened.

Can you point out where I said Paton and Danny weren't playing as wingers? The difference between the Annan game and yesterday was that at Annan we played 4-3-3 and yesterday we played 4-1-4-1. But hey you're right we had 11 players on the park in both games.

Yesterday I(and those around me) on a number of occasions saw a back line of 4 with the mystery no 4 just in front of them then another line of 4 of Paton McKenna, Burns and Danny then Lyle up front. It couldn't have been any clearer.

Last week was 4-3-3 and yesterday was 4-1-4-1

I'm so pleased we have not gone down the route of summer football. With the way the weather has been the last couple of weeks those in control would have to have had a serious look at the safety implications for both players and supporters in these extreme conditions. People's health and safety is at serious risk with surfaces as hard as concrete and sunstroke and dehydration as real possibility for players and supporters alike.

As for the first bit, get used to it it's supposed to last another week. The second, how true and your comment regarding Queens, well I hope to hear a lot of that this season.

I thought without ever being put under a lot of pressure we looked solid at the back but having said that I would prefer Higgins in alongside Durnan. Couldn't quite work out what formation we were playing at times but I though Young and McShane did well along with Paton. On today's performance not sure about Lyle up front on his own and Russell wide left, although a few times he took the ball off Mitchel at right back! I thought Reilly look sharp when he came on as did Danny, Burns and McKenna. I hope they aren't thinking of Higgins as a left back, nowhere nerearly as eveffective a s Holt was today. I felt sorry for Steven Black, didn't look anwhere near the player he was for us last season. As easy a 2 nil as you would hope to see.

Any news on who'll be in between the posts for us tomorrow?

Yep, but it was just to illustrate that he "shit it" for a 6.2" keeper and only 5 yards off his line , he didn't cover himself in glory. The second header was from about a yard out and was arguably just as bad. Edited to say, for what it's worth in the 3 game he played against us I think he made a few really good saves, but on crosses he looked very weak.

Any news on any keepers, the Annan game is only a few days away and we only seem to have young Jim?

It was noticeable last season that he always did warm down's with those that had been substituted. I would imagine that injuries where low last season not just due to luck but a lot of hard work on his behalf. Nice of him to come across and watch.

The Spiders already have Amateur internationalist Buchanan’s team-mate Joao Pereira Victoria on trial and the duo could feature in a closed doors game with Queen of the South this Saturday. Hampden Head Coach Gardner Speirs said: “Both players have been recommended to us and we had a look at Joao in a Reserve game last season. Craig has been on holiday but he will join us on Thursday and we will take things from there.” First pre season game this weekend, where's it being played?

The same could be said about Gibson, on their day they are match winners. It's sad to say but these guy's are never gonna change

I was quite impressed by him when he first broke onto the scene under KB. If he's now back to full fitness I would like to see him in the pre-season games and see how he does.
