Can I ask the question then, do you think Nicky would have been offered a new contract if his father hadn't joined the management staff?

Having watch Nicky all last season and noting his goals return, do you seriously think he merits a start as a striker? Dumbarton was another example and I can see exactly why Peterhead released him. I was surprised at last weekend's substitution as were a few others judging by the shouts from the crowd. I'm sure it makes for some awkward discussions.

As you say a very impressive turn out considering. MrGoo crew are an entertaining bunch and the video on the Mad site is quality. Irrespective of who they are, all players in the team should be there on merit. We can't afford to be carrying any passengers this season. That's what put us in the division we are in, thanks to our last manager.

Goals win games and Clark missed a number of glorious chances, which as a striker he should be scoring. We released two youngsters at the end of last season that would have netted a couple of those each. Going by the law of averages Clark was eventually going to score but in most games we won't be afforded that luxury. Sorry but there should be no room for family sentiment in the team. I know it's all hypothetical but if Danny hadn't created another chance for him and we had ended up losing the game, what would everyone be saying today?

Smith was our best player yesterday with McKenna having his best game for a while. I thought Workington were disappointingly poor.

Well you're going to have to get used to him with daddy taking the team! Comfortable win overall. There was nothing in it in the first 25 mins with the best chance falling to Gretna when they were right through and Lee pulled off a good save.Thereafter it was mainly Queens with goals from Clark, a well taken goal from Holt and a back post header from Smith. 3 nil halftime. Secondhalf was basically one way traffic without actually testing the Gretna keeper much. Thought Gav's first touch was excellent followed by a good finish for his goal. Was slightly disappointed with Willie's performance, he should have scored in the second half and also thought Smith was quite poor. Couldn't understand why in a preseason friendly we waited so long to make changes and then 2 players didn't even get on!

Does anyone know how many we need through the gates at home games this season to balance the books? because I don't think there'll be many!

Agree entirely with what you say above, but don't think Holmer would be a good signing.

This is only my opinion, but I thought apart from 45mins against Aberdeen he offered nothing. Unlike some of the other dross Gus brought in he looked as though he was trying but there was never actually an end product. This season under the guidance of his father, well who knows?
