  1. Can't see this working. All it would lead to is every other club in the SPL with a sizeable debt problem looking to do something similar. If it's a new co then they have to be treated as such, which means reapplying to the SFA and starting from the bottom up. While this is something that the media do not want to consider, it is the only way to get through this without doing far more damage to the game here than has already been done.
  2. I don't expect it myself, but it was all I could come up with when trying to think of a way out that could be in anyway considered palatable if the club are to be readmitted, as most folk expect.
  3. One scenario that came to mind last night. Pre pack and sold to a phoenix. Phoenix readmitted to the SPL but on the basis that the old teams points are cancelled. Phoenix has 10 or so games to pick up enough points to survive.
  4. I expect that in a few years time there will be a fan owned entity running a Rangers of some sort and challenging at the top of the SPL. The figures involved here simply don't add up to me and I can't see how Rangers in their current form can continue. I think HMRC will block a CVA, and if Whyte tries the pre pack route then I can't see the SPL transferring the league position to any entity that is run by him, as in light of all they have since found out about the guy there is no way he would pass the fit and proper persons test. Interesting times ahead. The only thing I'm certain about is that a lot of folk will get royally shafted, and Craig Whyte won't be one of them. That was always his intention though.
  5. If we're onto the Garage, i'll need to start boycotting this thread
  6. I took 11 minutes off my 10k time between my first and second one, there was a year in between but for the 6 months after my first run I didn't do anything at all. Hoping that by not doing the same this time (Only took 4 or 5 weeks off at most this time) I'll go below the 45 minute mark. Other than the 2 10k races, I've only went that distance on a handful of occasions. Normally I'll run 6k a couple of times a week, then 8.5k to 9k on my third run. Not sure what your time is at the moment but it shouldn't be beyond you to take a couple of minutes off at least in 5 months.
  7. Went out yesterday morning for the first time in 5 or 6 weeks, managed 4.5k in just over 22 minutes, which is pretty good by my standards. Will be back out tomorrow morning, see if I can add another street to my route and have a go at 5k for a few weeks before adding a bit more distance.
  8. Recently read the published version of Neil Olivers "History of Scotland". Interesting reading on a subject I knew a lot less about than I probably should have. Certainly changed my views on a lot of aspects of Scotlands history and heritage. Regarding Irvine Welsh and Porno, the book was ok but far poorer than Trainspotting as has already been said. The only bit that stood out was the part early on that see's Sick Boy sending gay porn to Begbie while he's in jail. That was laugh out loud funny, the rest was just ok at best. Filth is probably my favourite effort by Welsh, although Maribou Stork Nightmares was also very good.
  9. Best - Ashoka Worst - Filling Station By and large though, I always find you get what you should expect to when you go to a chain pub/restaurant.
  10. Not sure if the last one I read was "Lights Out in Wonderland" by DBC Pierre, or "Marabou Stork Nightmares" by Irvine Welsh. Both were thoroughly enjoyable, although the ending to the first one i mentioned was a bit of a disappointment compared to the rest of the book. As for reading a book again and not enjoying it as much the second time, I've had the opposite effect from a few books, 1984 springs to mind straight away, although that's probably as I was 13 or 14 when I first read it and 27 or 28 when I read it again. The second time I read it, it f**king terrified me.
