I don’t see it happening but if KVV was to be available on sensible wages I think we’d jump at the chance. He wouldn’t score nearly 30 goals but he’d get double figures and you can’t turn that down.

I dunno - Kev is the definition of mercurial and I have the fear that after a nondescript loan spell with Killie, and being punted by Groningen after effectively half a season, he’ll be even less interested than he seemed before.

Although if he decides to score some worldies just for patter I’d be all for it.

    f**k it, bring him home.

Mine too, I grew up living 5 doors up from him, if I was playing kirby and he walked by with his dog "Blue" I'd always throw it that wee bit too hard by mistake. Can't convey how 3 keepy uppies and launched back to me made my day.

The Pony home and away were classics, the away especially.

The untouchables is travesty, a tiny tiny badge, fuchsia and yellow doesn't have the same ring to it.

That Untouchables kit was made of a really weird material too, it was like a sponge, absolutely boiling trying to play fives in it way back when.

It’s taken me a couple of days to catch up on all the posts.

WS/Investment - WS to have majority shareholding. We need external investment by it must suit the club. Admittedly that may be the stumbling block.

Kettlewell subs - Got them badly wrong against Celtic. Got them right against Livi.

    Thoughts on OOC players above.

Jili Buyabu - Still none the wiser on alleged reasons for being sent back to Sheffield.

    Think that’s it?

Currently appearing as The Unknown at that Wonka experience.  Or hiding out with Kate Middleton, depending on which rumour mill you subscribe to.

Not sure he meets all the criteria because he was actually a very good goalkeeper, but for me Sieb Dijkstra is one of the biggest cult heroes in my time supporting Motherwell.

The Pornstar moustache, gareish paintsplash jersey, catching cross balls out by the penalty spot and his mazy runs around defenders that used to send Wee Tommy mad, made him a huge fans favourite.

Unlike the current Motherwell team, corners and freekicks were nothing to worry about.

    Seeeeeeeeiiiiiibbbbbb!!!!!!

    certainly gets my vote!

Big Sieb has to be up there - a very good player and excellently hirsute to boot.

    I would like to add:

    Colin O’Neill

    Steve ‘Supersub’ Kirk

    Said Chiba

    Daniel Sengewald

    Abel Thermeus - The Flask

    Holm Kraska

  5. The problem with Kelly’s current state is that it clearly gives the folk in front of him zero confidence whatsoever.  You add that to a defence that is full of players who aren’t naturals in the role they’re being asked to play, and it’s no wonder we are conceding soft goals most weeks.

In patches last night (the first 20 mins or so, and when Vale and Devine came on) I actually thought we looked quite useful - some decent passing moves and everything looked quite fluid.  We seemed to resort far to quickly to shelling long balls at Bair who only got more isolated as the game went on, you had Spittal and Paton dropping further and further back to try and force things rather than just concentrating on our own game.

As many have said, we seemed to shite it from Morton and just couldn’t get over that.

    In terms of individuals:

    - Buyabu has a touch of the Gbolys about him

    - Vale and Devine deserve a start

    - Butcher is honking

    - Bair tried hard enough but needs support.

That fucking Dougie Imrie song was doing my nut too, I should have stayed in and watched Seinfeld.

  6. The worst thing is those daft wee socks footballers wear now.

Theres a definite period that for me lasted from the 1990 WC through to about 2010 or so that just feels like a different world.  So much opening up of football with the likes of the Serie A stuff on C4, the start of the Champs League, and that’s before you get started on stuff like Champ Man.

The latter is I think part of the problem now tho, too much focus on stats and ‘data’ which I get have a place but it’s the way that this seems to be (essentially) the only type of reporting or discussion around football these days.

All the chat about xG or ‘duels won’ sucks all the enjoyment out of it.  It’s still 22 guys running about a grass rectangle trying to hoof a ball into a net.  Doesn’t need to be over complicated.

I reckon we need 6 in to stand still.

    A right wing back.

2 midfielders one as a starter with one for our inevitable injury to said starter

2 strikers one as a starter and one as cover for either said starter getting injured or Obika depending on what day of the week it is.

    A dominant centre half .

We will probably sign two goalies

What’s Russell Griffiths up to these days?
