  1. Remind me how much Celtic offered for James McCarthy. Oh hang on, I remember now - but were they salted or dry roasted? And finally....FTOF.
  2. ""bob mckay, glasgowCollapse"Och, can we not all move on? For the good of scottish football its time for closure and a new chapter in realism in football finance. " Eh? It's a bit late for that, sunshine.
  3. The recent poorly-attended cup tie against Dundee Utd shows what happens when OF homes games are on TV.
  4. Way back in the day Celtic and Rangers colluded to fix draws in cup games between them meaning more money from replays - hence the 'Old Firm'. They conned their own fans for money.
  5. Unlikely that any clubs would go bust but if any did then they'd be relegated too and replaced by one of Scotland's many clubs who live within their means.
  6. Googled 'Gang Green' on a whim and uncovered this strangely apt song - http://www.last.fm/music/Gang+Green/_/Time+to+Pay Time to Pay indeed...
  7. What happened to this hare brained scheme? http://news.bbc.co.u...and/4264114.stm Better put that hover-pitch on hold...
  8. This wonderful story stands as a shining light and beacon of hope for all mankind.
  9. Once this is all over - soon hopefully - can P&B perhaps pick 300 pages of the best posts and publish it in book form? I'd buy a copy. Maybe even a few thousand and leave them lying around like Gideon's bibles, except 'The Rangers Administration saga" book would cheer folk up and show them that life IS worthwhile and suicide is not the answer (unless you're a fan of the club they used to call The Rangerz).
  10. 'I don't get the Blue Knights and their posturing as wannabe saviours of Rangers. Kennedy is worth about £250 million and Douglas Park £80 million. Not sure what wealth Ian Hart, Paul Murray and Scott Murdoch have (or to be honest what they do). Wouldn't have been hard for them to have matched the bid which Miller had accepted if they had wanted to. Murray (Sir David), like him or loathe him, during his time at Ibrox poured a large amount of his (well BOS's) money into the place. When it came to share issues that, unlike those across the city, were poorly supported by regular fans he ended up buying most of the shares himself. It strikes me that the Blue Knights are just like those regular fans happy to buy a ticket, happy to bask in the glory but not willing to actually invest in their club. ' Douglas Park is one of the SFA's sponsors (Parks of Hamilton) so maybe the Rangers' fans massive boycott has diminished his wealth...
  11. "The argument is if the other half of the Old Firm are in disarray and a pale imitation of their former selves the less likely it is the Celtic fans will turn out in the same numbers." This isn't correct surely - what it should say is "Celtic fans are holding off buying season tickets until they are sure Rangers have been punished appropriately." No?
  12. If Ally could just say "Sorry." Just one word - "Sorry." If he doesn't apologise for his vindictiveness then his reputation will always be soiled.
  13. Rangers have been up for sale since 2007 - where were all these bidders then?
  14. Big Kenny Mac Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 03:10 PMBrian Kennedy travels by helicopter - and has the kind of wealth that could really kick start the Ibrox revival. If you add his cash to our world class infrastructure - 5 star stadium, world class youth setup and luxurious training hq, then the Gers would be in a position to quickly get back on top of the pile of chaff that exisits in this league. I heard that at Sale Sharks he flys players in for signing talks the same way sir david used to jet them in on his private plane. this guy is UNDOUBTEDLY the real deal - especially compared to the cowboy from Missouri who walked away. We have told you already - WE DON'T DO WALKING AWAY.----------- Big Kenny Bluenose An interesting insight into the mind of a tru-blu from The Scotsman blog. Sounds like the type of guy who dreams of a white Range Rover Sport on 21" alloys with a private reg, holidaying in Dubai and installing gold taps in his bathroom.
  15. This is why I left Hamilton. We once had a 'family day' at NDP - wife and kids get in free sort of thing - one family, 2 parents and 2 kids, turned up decked from head to toe in matching Rangers away kits (right down to the socks). I mean, for thucks sake. The fact there were 2 parents was the only silver (and surprising) lining to that episode.
  16. Call Kaye is hilarious this morning - one Rangers fan talking about 'going nuclear' - tune in if you can.
  17. Joint administrator David Whitehouse said: "In this case, with time and money for Rangers running out quickly, it was essential to move the process forward with urgency. And all this time I thought they'd been dragging their feet. Well, I know thuck all...
  18. Crowds wil flock back to football if they believe their team might win something. The highest attendances at NDP were against Aberdeen and Dundee - games both sets of fans attended in numbers because of the chance of seeing a victory. Old Firm games at NDP were less well attended, mainly due to Accies fans seeing the outcome as, more or less, a forgone conclusion. The idea that other team's fans somehow want to see the Old Firm is rubbish - fans want to see competitive football. Would be great to have an OF-free league with a 14 or 16 team top division.
  19. Sad that the Killie chairman (and probably most SPL chairmen for that matter) doesn't see the chance of his team finishing a bit higher up the league as being more important than some tainted cash from a bunch of cheats. Sure the fans of most SPL clubs would be exited at the chance of finishing 2nd and getting a bit of European football. What the fans want and what the chairmen want are two different things. If I was an SPL chairman, I'd have tried to take a poll of season ticket holders on this matter and agreed to abide by the fans wishes. Then again, I live in cloud cuckoo land....
  20. RM - "the Club that our families have supported for 140 years" add except for a while in the early '80s when we watched snooker and went shopping instead.
