I suppose it’s trying to pick through the bones of why Rose was so ineffective on Saturday. Was it because Smith and Musonda were so hopeless in the middle of the park? Did that stop Amartey and McGeady stretching Dundee Utd or having any real influence at all in the attacking third? Was it because McKenzie was dreadful at holding the ball up or linking the play with anyone? All that being said, could Rose have done more to affect the play?
It was all of the above, perfect storm of shiteness.

If we play this team then we’ll have the best possible chance of winning imo.
Albinson
Ahui
Stanger
Musonda
Reading
Pendlebury
Young
Smith
Chalmers
Rose
McGeady
You’ll get 3 Micks, Mckenzie, Mcallister and Mcginty and you’ll like it.

You can argue that to a degree, but Baird wasn't good under Kerr either when McGinty wasn't at Ayr.
That’s why I said half!

For the record, McGinty didn't get himself sent off on purpose up at Arbroath... he just suffers from a rare syndrome which means he occasionally loses all control of his body (which is a bit of a problem for a professional footballer, so fair play to him for doing as well as he has in overcoming adversity).
Also for the record, comparing Baird and McGinty is (mainly for the above reason) totally absurd: Baird has in fact settled down to be the opposite of McGinty, that is, a guy you can rely on at the heart of the defence week in, week out, totally focused on the fundmentals of his role (and, as far as I can see, in better physical condition than he's ever been in).
He's never going to be Beckenbauer, but (we hope and believe) he isn't going to make catastrophic, match-losing errors two or three times a season for the rest of his career.
Always felt that half the issue with Baird when at Ayr he was having to play alongside McGinty. Playing hoppyball meant the ball was constantly coming straight back at the defence and big Sean had a mistake or 2 in him at that time which was probably unsettling for Baird. Sean’s better than he was and obviously it’s helped Baird playing at another club. Common denominator, David fckin Hopkin.

Yes it also said McAllister would probably be OK to play too.
No sure if that’s good or bad tbf. If he isn’t fit then it’d probably be Ahui starting and he’s probably still reeling from Saturday

Any mention of McAllister? Seen him holding an ice pack on his calf on Saturday

Bit ironic as you’ve got a thousand hardcore fans and the rest of your town supports Sevco. Half and half scarves
Resorts to crowd wanking but doesn’t deny the wee team/big team mash up. And the scarf thing is a yawn

5000 season ticket holders and an opening day win against Rangers. It must be so fucking demoralising to be an Ayr fan……..
You must have had mixed feelings about beating your big team? How was the atmosphere down at the lodge after?

He was chasing after Crawford to have a go at him for playing on.
Thought he was after the ref tbh. Not that it really matters as the ref or Crawford did nothing wrong anyway.

Where is Albinson sprinting away to at the Crawford goal?
To have a go at the referee or Pendlebury…
Think he was complaining to the ref for not stopping the game as pendlebury was down injured. Don’t think the ref has to stop as it’s not a head injury so he was wasting his time.

It’s going to be funny when we line up next week with Bryden and McKenzie up front, and the same full backs as last season again.
Thought McAllister was injured? Pretty sure I saw him with an ice pack on his calf. Could be wrong.

Mcgeady didn’t even look fit from afar never mind far from fit.

Was it just me or did anyone else think Ahui looked a bit like Bangala MK2? Ball bounced off him, crosses went wayward and his dreadful control and challenge that lead to the yellow. He looked way out his depth
Yes to all of that.

Think season ticket sales will probably only ever be incremental increases season on season for Ayr while still in the championship. Don’t think they’d ever be a substantial uplift unless we got promoted. Still could be up on sales of last season though as I’m sure there is always a late surge just before season starts and to be fair our first game is away so still time.
