  1. I feel your pain - but nothing worse than being having your comments twisted and taken out of context.
  2. So, not one post from any Arbroath fan who has said we have one of the best teams in the league - as expected. I will give you 7/10 for your efforts of trawling these these old posts - but 0/10 for trying to twist comments.
  3. Absolute drivel - show me one post where this has been said ? Have not read any posts from any Arbroath fans which have suggested we have one of the best squads in the league - prove me wrong and produce the quote or otherwise put a lid on it.
  4. Another 90th minute poster - anyone can post negative comments after the match - nothing clever about that. Maybe if you had actually seen Arbroath playing over the past 4 games you might know what you were talking about .............
  5. At the time of posting that comment there was very little between teams - are you suggesting otherwise ? Obviously Arbroath collapsed in the 2nd half - but at the time of that post, it was a close game with Thistle taking advantage of a defensive error. Anyone can copy and paste a fans comment from early into the match then post sarcastic comments once they know the final result after the full time whistle - but if that rocks your boat, then hey ho.
  6. Arbroath’s weakest performance since MacIntyre came in - defence too slow and all over the place. Shambles in terms of defending.
  7. New signing Walker liability for that goal, firstly slowing down to claim off side and then failing to close down the player and block the shot - two defensive errors, two goals.
  8. Besides the goal, not much between the teams. Bird is looking sharp and getting stuck in - but we need to be creating better chances. Still in the game and in fairness to Gaston, he has also pullled off a couple of good saves. Maybe playing a little too high up with the off side trap - but seems to be working.
  9. So annoying, on top of the game and then a hoof kick up the park and Gaston unable to clear the danger .................
  10. McIntyre will know that the new signings will make or break his reputation at Gayfield - he will be well aware of the consequences of signing players who don't deliver - he will surely have all players watched and perhaps invited to a few training sessions . What really pleases me is how good the "fringe" players have been playing - they have really taken their chance and clicked as a unit. If we secure a couple of loan signings and the injured players slowly start to return we will have a good squad. The missing sections of the jig saw might not be completed until the end of January - but hopefully worth waiting for.
  11. Hopefully be a good addition to the squad - but I am not a fan of these video highlights, they tend to zoom in and focus on only the best moments of player and don't really provide a full account of a player's overall ability. That said, it's good to finally get a defender and lets hope he is makes a good addition to the squad.
  12. Signing a defender is something we can all agree on - hurrah ! Obviously straight into the squad for Saturday and would have been training with the squad for a few sessions. Should add I have been very impressed with all the "fringe" players who have proved they are serious contenders for the starting 11 when the injured players return - a few more signings to follow and we will have a tidy squad when everyone is fit.
  13. Agreed, but surely a couple of defenders will be incoming soon.
  14. Struggled to get game time at Forfar - so can't see this happening, plus he can only to to lowland or Highland league team according to loan rules I believe ( I could be wrong about that - others with better knowledge might confirm) ?
  15. We need to start turning these performances into points - we have played well against Raith, Dunfermline, Morton and others - minor errors have cost us points ( yes, it's football, happens to every team). The point is, given the circumstances, we have been playing some fine football.
  16. Arbroath are short of players due to lots of players out injured - meaning many of the players available are playing out of position. However, they have all been playing remarkably really well, risen to the challenge and put in regular consistency performances. Think this game is wide open - Arbroath may be short on numbers, but the players have shown they are for up for the fight. A difficult score to predict - but will go with an away win.
  17. United keeper should have been booked for play acting - the ball also looks over the line. The level of consistency shown by the Arbroath players is impressive - we now need to turn this consistency into winning games and the defence needs to aim to keep clean sheets ( errors are costing us goals). Expect loan players or new signings to arrive before the end of January (many clubs won't release players until they bring in their own new signings).
  18. United have the measure of Arbroath and deserved their win - but the score line flatters them. Losing the 2nd goal gave United the momentum - until then it was a close match. Overall, another decent performance from Arbroath - confident we will start winning games soon. As for United, they look sharp, fast and fit - but they had to work for the 3 points. Good attendance and although Arbroath lost, few teams will get points off United.
  19. If we can keep the consistency going and hold firm in defence we can maybe get something from this game. A tough ask - but as we seen last week, anything can happen. A point from this match would be a good day's work.
  20. Expect this to be a much closer match than the last two encounters ! Arbroath have been putting in some fine performances ( a small squad due to injuries and suspensions), but still playing really well. United are red hot favourites to win of course - no doubt about that. Score prediction: Arbroath 2- United 2 (provided United are off form and blasting their chances into the north sea).
  21. New signing Innes Murray ( Edinburgh) will be in the squad tomorrow, along with Balde ( who has returned form his loan). When Dick Campbell resigned, he was leaving behind a very good squad of players - he would have been holding out to sign quality players, rather than just quantity of numbers ( as others have mentioned). If we bring in one loan player and perhaps 2 quality new signings we will have a great squad. The fringe players have fitted into the starting 11 really well - in many ways the team has been playing better football - so, maybe 2 - 3 signings and we will have a full squad ( all in contention for the starting 11).
  22. What a great story for Adam’s to tell his grandchildren - and surely a serious contender for goal of the season. Obviously need to play him up front against United in a few days time. Enjoy the rest of your evening and let the good times roll.
  23. You are aware that Arbroath (along with Dundee and a few other east coast towns) is ranked as one of the driest towns in Scotland ? Barcelona gets more rainfall than Arbroath !
  24. Yesterday was another good yardstick of just how improved the team is looking - lots of confidence, great passing moves and some very fine football on display - at times we were cutting right through Dunfermline's defence - the team is looking sharp, fit and up for it. Would be good if could keep a clean defensive sheet - and hold onto the ball in the final mins when we are in front - we will be working to achieve. Regarding the handbags at dawn, it was disappointing - but lets move on and let the management deal with this privately. Raith and United next and if we can keep the consistency going we have a decent chance of getting something from these games.
  25. Difficult decision for management as the fringe players have done so well and the team look very settled. However, ToB is a key player and class act - so not an easy call to make. I am thinking maybe go with the same starting 11 - but thats a nice headache for the manager to have ! Whatever the line up, I think we will be giving Dunfermline a much harder match this Saturday - and it's a game we can win.
