  1. http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=212178 Only comes in XXXL. There are quite a few posts on RM with guys selling tshirts, scarves, etc but very few actually answer the question "How much goes to the club?" And dont even get me started on the no surrender shite!!! A young lad down at the shops this morning was proudly wearing a NO SURRENDER tshirt (In the rain!!!). A wee old dear in the post office queue asked him if he knew what it meant. "It means we fight to the last man." She turned away, sighed and her reply had half a dozen people in the queue giggling..........."If only."
  2. http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=216457 Is this like what they are doing with the Titanic Tour just now?
  3. Nobody, but nobody that is "rangers minded" is going to buy the club. Sure, all the guys bidding will make noises about it, but the truth is they arent playing with their own money. It's company money and the shareholders will be wanting a return. Bill Ng isnt trying to buy the club because he is a true blue. He has other reasons well documented outwith the scottish media. The guy has probably never been to Scotland let alone Ibrox. Ally is still working at supporter level and telling everyone that things are looking promising, blah blah blah. But at the end of the day he has as much of a clue about what is going on as the rest of us. Sad thing is, only we realise that. Ally hasnt cottoned on yet. When a fight broke out with his club last year Bill Ng was adamant that he would punish players and fans as this type of behaviour was totally unacceptable. Maybe he should take in an OF game and the aftermath then decide if he still wants to bid. Oh and if any rangers fans want to know why we dont like all that you stand for.......................I was in A&E in the southern general after being attacked by a "fan" coming out of a pub in shawlands when in came two rangers knuckle draggers covered in blood. Turns out they were brothers that had pummelled each other because they couldnt agree on who was man of the match!!! Nuff said.
  4. Hey, Bocanegra says that rangers are a global brand so I am sure there are 50 or 60 other bids waiting in the wings. Ahem!!!
  5. And now it seems that Ellis is throwing his oar in as well. Basically saying "I helped Whyte buy the club and he promised me a quarter of the shares." Just when you think that this tale can't get anymore twisted........................ And its quite interesting to read what Bill Ng has to say OUTSIDE of the Scottish papers. Most of it is how beneficial it will be for Singapore and their football. How the FA there can learn things from the SFA!!! "I'm interested in the club for more than financial reasons. This could do so much for the profile of football in Singapore." Outside of the daily record or daily mail I cannot find too many quotes to the world's media about his love of the club and doing this because he is a true blue. All seems to be about it will benefit his country. And I love the quote, " Ally McCoist will still have a role at Rangers." Doesnt say he will be manager, oh and I think you mispelt "role". It should be "roll". Normally with a square sausage, potato scone and red sauce.
  6. Am I the only one that feels a little bit of sick coming up when you read about old ladies giving their pension, or young kids their hard earned pocket money to an organisation that has gotten itself in such a state through mismanagement, lying, cheating, possibly fraud and other underhanded methods? Instead of being proud of these people the club should be taking a long hard look at itself. The wee wumin gives a few quid that would go to her heating or food bill, but instead she will put an extra cardigan on and only have one bit of toast instead of two. Wee Jimmy might not be so understanding when dad announces they wont be going on holiday this year or have xmas coz he has given the money to a worthier cause than his own family. Meanwhile the players, despite taking a "short term" reduction in their wages can still piss money up against the wall. I hope when this is all done and dusted than the players and management etc of rfc each put a £10 they found in their back pockets into an envelope and send to this woman and/or young boy. I'm all for raising money to help your club but this is just embarrassing.
  7. The whole point which OF fans fail to grasp is that football is a GAME!!!! Maybe many of us follow our team because our father did, and his father before that, etc but we dont go every week telling everyone about it. My great grandfather was a physio for Partick Thistle 100 years ago. I just thought I would share that. We dont care about your religious beliefs, or your political biased. We have a laugh that aberdeen supporters shag sheep, St Johnstone are all farmers, clyde sleep with their sisters and the Jags are all students or old men with pipes, but its NEVER taken seriously. I enjoy at the end of the game going for a drink and being able to have some banter and a chat with opposing fans. I'm sure the queen and the pope would be shocked if they had to take in an OF game.
  8. To a point I do get what Stoned Sailor is getting at, and it seems neither fans of the OF actually get how much everyone else does not like followers of the green and blue. Ofcourse its not every fan as I am sure there are many reasonable fans who follow the dark side. However its the element that is in our faces all the time that makes us tired of the OF. Whether it be Lennon's snarling face moaning that the world is against them, and thereby giving voice to all those idiots that actually believe that as a fact, or Gazza playing the flute................the list in endless. I have seen celtic fans at firhill applaud an ex-rangers keeper off the park after an outstanding display against them, but I have also had stones thrown at a crowd of us leaving ibrox after a 1-1 draw in the cup, and then have to listen to 90 minutes of bile coming from rangers fans in the replay who seemed more intent at either telling us they hated celtic more than us, that they wanted god to save the queen, or........well I think you already know the rest. And I will never forget the fat, suited **** that sat in hospitality behind us and was almost lynched by thistle fans for his behaviour. Maybe it would be no bad thing weeding these morons out over a few barren seasons and hope they never come back.
  9. Thats a good point. Could I buy Third Lanark's old ground, get a team together and call myself Third Lanark (or whatever) and then claim all the honours they won as my own?
  10. Admirable sentiment No8. However the reality is most of your fellow fans will not follow suit. If you do get punted to the 3rd or worse, and lose all your players and have to start afresh, do you seriously think that the "loyal" will still fill ibrox when they have been stuck in the 2nd or 3rd division for a couple of seasons because they can no longer afford the players to get them out of those leagues? Or say you are cantering the leagues on the way back to the SPL and are 30 points clear at xmas and beating everyone 5-0, will fans still turn up? I very much doubt it. Either way I guarantee that if you do struggle for a few seasons in the lower leagues all your fans from england and ireland will suddenly find something better to do with their time instead of going to a game. This isnt a dig. Its just what happens to fans when the club they support is no longer competitive and in with a chance of winning anything of note. For example, where were all those killie supporters at the cup final when the team play in the league? Or where are all the dunfermline fans this season that were there to support "their" team winning the1st division last year?
  11. I like many others on here, really dont give two stuffs about either of the OF. Celtic would rather be known for their Irish heritage (although wouldnt be too keen to bugger off to Ireland and play there), whilst Rangers want all and sundry to know how loyal they are to the queen and england. The media (and it pains me to add Chic Young in that) would try and have us believe that Scottish football needs the OF, but I dont recall the same fervent belief when it was being banded about that the OF might be on their way to england. All the scottish media could see was themselves sitting in the press box as Ibrox or Parkhead played home to a game against Man Utd or Chelsea etc. How they could fawn over the world class players this would bring to the OF....blah blah blah blah. The reason that many in the scottish media are now panicking is because they have know for years what was going on but kept it under wraps so as not to bite the hand that fed them exclusives and stories. All it will take is for a player, official, director etc to be interview and say "Oh yeah, Chic, Jim, Britney, etc knew all about this 5 years ago but we asked them not to say anything..........." and it would a can of worms that could clear out most of these scribes. It used to be the cases on Sportsound that callers would be cut off because the points they made were stupid, incoherent or just plain daft. But now they are being cut off for having valid points that the panel either dont want to face or that mean they they have to take a hard look at themselves in the mirror and ask "why did I want to be a journalist? To find the truth or just tell stories?"
  12. If rankgers are the most successful club in the world, and we are going by the standard of competition, I would like to formally put myself forward as the most successful AIR HOCKEY player in the history of the world ever. Having played my younger sister, then young daughter, young son, granny and drunk friend, I have remained unbeaten for over 25 years. As this is such an achievement and history will show that it will remain unmatched, I believe that I shouldnt pay tax ever again. AND not once have I cheated!!!!!! I mean come on guys, what else can you put a £1 into that will give you so much fun?!?!?!?!?!? Oh hang on a sec.................. lol
  13. According to today's daily ranger Ally wasn't surprised or worried about the amount of debt owed. Really??? If the company I worked for owed that much money and was so close to the brink you could look over the edge then I think I would be a little nervous. The funny bit was when he said he had been in regular contact with dumb and dumber who were making positive noises about the future of the club. Ally a word of warning mate. IF a new investor comes in with money do you seriously think you will still be manager??? Oh and FTAO Chic Young..................it took me 30 seconds to find out this "American Millionaire" that's interested in rankgers has as checkered a history as Whyte. He's just a bit richer.
  14. The reason that hmrc probably told whyte to take a flying leap is because of their dealings with him on a number of occasions before. It's not the first, second or third time that he's tried to shaft the taxman. It's like a mate that borrows money off you and says he'll pay it back. When after a couple of times he still hasn't given you all your money back you eventually tell him to sling his hook. Time for all the lying from whyte, rangers, murray, the media, sfa and spl to end.
  15. If I remember correctly rangers put in a very low bid for Duncan Ferguson which Jim McLean refused quite publicly. The offers kept rising until it got to £4 million and Utd accepted. Murray was raging and going on about how because rangers had money clubs were taking the rip, at which point Jim basically said "well if you are daft enough to throw it about like that!!!!" Hopefully this will now bring an end to rangers buying players that have a good game against them.
  16. Whilst I understand the Chic Young isnt an "investigative" journalist, surely asking the right questions is part of his job as well as a bit of going through the archives to confirm a story. All he has done for years is just been a mouth piece for these guys without questioning them once. Hopefully the BBC will now see the wave of contempt most people hold for him and his like now. No one believes a word these guys say or cares if they have an exclusive. The same thing happened with Gretna and Chic never learned his lesson then. People on the internet were digging deep and knew what was going to happen long before Chic exclusively revealed it. And the same is happening now. What I do find appalling is he is saying the same crap now about Rangers that he did about Gretna. The whole "no one could have predicted this was going to happen" line is a cop-out that no one is buying anymore. Chic, this took me 5 minutes to find.................. Sunday Mirror, January 27, 2008 A MILLIONAIRE who fled Scotland under the shadow of a tax probe and £4million debts has returned home after buying a Scottish castle. Craig Whyte, 39, vanished nine years ago, leaving behind a controversial career, lawsuits and multi-millionpound debts. The Scots entrepreneur once dubbed "the next Richard Branson" was accused of failing to pay his employees' wages and was at the centre of a massive tax investigation by the Inland Revenue. But after fleeing to the tax haven of Monte Carlo, where he continued with an extravagant lifestyle, he has now made an equally extravagant return to Scotland. Whyte acquired Vital UK in 1993 and built it into a conglomerate. But it went into voluntary liquidation in 1996, with debts totalling £600,000In 1999, a report hinted that he had failed to register some of his employees for PAYE tax. The tycoon ended up at the High Court, where his legal team admitted he owed £3.5 million to a single creditor. It was around the same time that members of the 700-strong workforce from his company network even threatened to riot over unpaid wages. But despite the allegations and court cases, he insisted in an exclusive interview with the Sunday Mirror at his Monte Carlo home eight years ago that he was debt-free. "I don't owe anyone any money - least of all the taxman," he said. And now, as he returns to Scotland, Whyte says he is to restore his newly acquired castle to its former glory. Yesterday he spoke of his delight at being back in Scotland and insisted he was debtfree and no longer under investgation by the Inland Revenue. He said: "I am debt-free and now own substantial holdings and assets in various parts of the world. There are no outstanding claims against me. I continue to hold property and assets overseas. My wife and I have always wanted to own a home in Scotland, and what more beautiful spot than Strathspey. The Inland Revenue is satisfied with my status and previous claims of debts proved completely false. I have never been declared bankrupt."Asked about his plans for the castle, he added: "We have held discussions with Historic Scotland and it is happy with our long- term ambitions. This involves a multi-million-pound restoration over the next few years. We will be at pains to preserve the historic character and ambience of the castle". But when the Sunday Mirror contacted Historic Scotland, a spokesperson claimed they had no record of any discussions with Mr Whyte concerning his plans for the castle. Now Chic, tell me that no one saw this coming. Now either do the job that you are supposed to get paid for or get out of our way.
  17. Just spent the last 15 minutes looking through the HMRC website for the section entitled "If you have racked up a silly amount of debt and dont want to pay it all back.", but I couldnt find it. It goes on about having to pay your tax back IN FULL. That any assets are to be sold off to pay the debt. That if you cant pay the debt IN FULL straight away then an agreement can be reached with HMRC to pay what you can now and installments to eventually pay the FULL AMOUNT. Oh and that they will issue a winding up order if it is shown that you will be unable to pay the FULL AMOUNT owed after investigation. Has the page that deals with taking a few pence in the pound instead of the full amount been taken down??? My worry is that HMRC will turn around and say "right we'll come to a deal this time, but just to let all other clubs know, this is the very last time!!!"
  18. So let me get this right......... Can we now all shaft each other? If thats the case is it now legal for me to keep my mate's car that he gave me whilst he's on holiday and only give him back the air freshener?
  19. According to the Daily Ranger today Paul Murray isnt worried about the huge amount of money owed. Although I suppose its easy to not worry when its not your money you are putting in. The DR also says that if the BK win the bid then the Ticketus deal will be ripped up and they will get £10 million over 9 years on an interest free basis. If I was an investor with Ticketus I would be raging!!! Imagine your company giving away £27 million that you think will provide a good investment over 4/5 years, but instead you only get just over a third of it back with NO PROFIT!!! The way this whole shambles has been handled is a disgrace, with even the local newsagent, nevermind the police and ambulance service owed money. They dont even pay for the extra doctors and nurses on duty at the A&E after an OF game!!! In a conversation with a football club official about 4 or 5 years ago, he said that what he had been told was going on behind the scenes at rangers he found hard to believe, but if true would be explosive. His theory was certain journos knew what was going on but had been asked to keep a lid on it as they hoped to deal with it. I wonder if he still finds it hard to believe?
