  1. A couple of headlines to make you chuckle this wet, cold winter morning.................. McCoist wants to manage in the EPL but has no plans to abandon Rangers. Ally McCoist: Charles Green won't leave Rangers short of transfer cash. The first one gave me a fit of the giggles.
  2. The first part is hilarious. Would these be the same fans that didn't believe what everyone else was telling them about Whyte? How long before they catch up and realise Green is taking them for a ride just like he did the Sheffield United fans? Man, you are soooooo funny. lol Yeah because if I want to listen to drunken rants, and paranoid fans then a radio chat show featuring OF fans pissing on each other is my idea of a relaxing couple of hours.
  3. Are these the same youngsters that wouldn't have even had a sniff of the first team if OldCo hadn't gone tits up?
  4. Can anyone explain to me why Ally needs tens of millions to spend on the team when we have been told for months that all these "starlets" that play for NewCo are the future of the club?
  5. From the Daily Record in May. Some of it sounds familiar........... Green’s boasts yesterday about his track record in Sheffield seemed to contradict almost every other assessment of his time at the club. When he quit the club in 1998 he needed the police to escort him through a crowd of furious fans who were waiting for him in the car park. Green also insists he oversaw the most successful shares issue in the history of British football while others look back upon that deal as something of a badly botched job. One fans’ group even called on the Department of Trade and Industry to investigate the stock market flotation, believing documents sent to United’s shareholders were inaccurate and misleading. The issue was oversubscribed to the tune of £90m, as well, leaving supporters who missed out angry and disappointed. “So let’s be clear about the mess Sheffield United were in when I went. We floated the club on the stock market and it was the most successful club float in history. “We went out to raise £10m and raised £100m. We had to send £90m back to investors. “That month they couldn’t get all the shares away for the other clubs that were being floated at the time. If you want the detail, I haven’t got the time but we will set the record straight. “When I left United it was the only club in England with no debt, no borrowings, no overdraft and cash in the bank.” But Green’s decision to sell three strikers in one week wrecked his relationship with another manager, Nigel Spackman, and eventually saw him hounded out office. He said: “The straw that broke the camel’s back for me at United was selling Brian Deane to Benfica when Graeme Souness was their manager. “The fans loved Deane but his contract was up and he would have been a Bosman. I got £1.5m for him so if that’s not good business I don’t know what is. “I also sold Jan Aage Fjortoft and Gareth Taylor in the same week. The next day we played Ipswich at home and lost 1-0. The fans were not happy but I brought £4m into the club. “Back in 1996 that was a big pile of money to United.” (Actually, it was 1998.) So, same record, different team.
  6. "Actually, I met Fergus McCann once, so I have been once. I met McCann when I was at Sheffield United and I went to buy Pierre van Hooijdonk, but we didn't buy him." I suppose what he said is technically true, however that isn't really the full story though, is it Chuck? The reason PVH didn't go to Sheffield was that Sheffield didnt want to pay the asking price and that the Sheffield manager's budget was tighter than speedos on a fatty. Sheffield United did enquire (NOT "went to buy") PVH but after being told how much Celtic were looking for they decided not to put an offer in. So I guess "we didn't buy him" is correct, but the choice of words used are calculated to make it sound as if Green decided PVH wasn't for them, not that they wouldn't pay the price. At the same time Sheffield United were offloading their best players (remember they also sold the best player when the manager was on holiday). A friend remembers at the time thinking that when he heard Sheffield were asking about PVH it seemed weird when it was obvious to him and his fellow SU supporters that the club didn't have the money. Green again showing that you have to look passed what he says and not to taking anything coming from him at face value.
  7. "Rangers International Football Club plc (AIM:RFC), the holding company for the Scottish football club, was informed on 19th December 2012 that, on the same day, Phil Cartmell (Non-Executive Director) purchased 25,800 ordinary shares of 1 penny each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at a price of 76.5 pence. Pursuant to this transaction Phil Cartmell is interested in 25,800 Ordinary Shares representing 0.04% of the issued ordinary share capital."
  8. http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/prices-and-markets/stocks/summary/company-summary.html?fourWayKey=GB00B90T9Z75GBGBXASQ1 Green and Ally await the millions rolling in......
  9. Can't believe I am going to agree with this. If he was anybody else that didn't have history at Ibrox (eg PLG) then he would have been hunted a long time ago. With him still being there and the look of confusion on his face when he can't turn a game around, it's only going to get harder and harder as they move up the leagues.
  10. Ahhhhh the Daily Ranger headlines for today............. Rangers insist HMRC probe into investor is not club's problem. And Rangers attacked reports that they were in “fresh trouble” with HMRC. They said: “The Rangers Football Club have no outstanding issues with HMRC.” Meanwhile, a finance expert said the probe would have “little impact” on the club. He said: “The worst impact would be under fit and proper person SFA rules. That would simply mean a parting of the ways. Hehehehehehehehe. As for "parting of the ways" having "little impact", wouldn't that mean he would take his money with him? Ally McCoist: I'm the man carrying the can if Rangers suffer Scottish Cup exit. I wonder what his excuse will be this time if they get punted? Rangers star Ian Black: Third division is harder than SPL. The tears are still streaming down my face. lmfao. Rangers midfielder Ian Black: Some of the tackles in Div 3 would see you done for assault.. refs must clamp down on it. Thought he was meant to be some sort of hardman? Has he only just figured out that every player in the lower divisions want to show this p***k what a hard tackle really is? Ian son, if you are going to act the hardman then back it up or shutthefuckup. Wean.
  11. Blue in work this morning was saying that he is definitely going to put in £500 to get shares. He knows he'll probably never see the money again, but it will help the club survive. Green in work then asked him what he is getting shares in. Blue - "Rangers." Green - "The club or the company?" Blue - "Don't know. Just Rangers." Green - "Yeah, but is the money going to the club, you know, the team, or to the company that runs the club?" Blue - "Does it matter?" So the other half of the cheek goes onto explain the difference between the two. Blue is still asking him questions about it 2 hours later. He was more than willing to give "Rangers" his money, but had no idea who or where it was going to. I bet he isn't the only one.
  12. I'll give him his due, Green can certainly talk. Although you really have to listen carefully to what he says. I won't leave until the club is in the Champions League. The club will never play in the SPL as long as I am chief exec. But if the fans want to play in the SPL then we will put it to the vote, but I won't be there. But I thought he just said he wouldn't leave until they were in the CL, or won it?!?!?!?!? There will be a European League in 5 to 10 years. Fans want to see the big clubs playing each other. Eh, it's called the Champions League and we've had it for a while. Even if only half the pledges are fulfilled it will still bring in over £10 million. We're doing it now because it means cheaper shares for the fans. If we waited a couple of years it would cost more to buy shares. Of which he gets 10% in shares that he can't sell as long as he is chief exec. I know very little about football and so do the rest of the board. Thought he had been telling us that he was football minded and used to play professionally, as well as his previous dealings with Sheffield? I could go on, but at the end of the interview Richard Keys said "It's been very interesting............One way or another." He didn't seem overly impressed by Green's answers to his questions, but didn't want to badger his guest. What was interesting was that my workmates (both cheeks of the same arse) both agreed that Green gave very long answers to questions which they felt was like a politician. The more a politician talks the audience "stops" listening and miss any bits where the speaker could go back months down the line and say "I did tell you this might happen." Keys asked Green why the change of plans to do a share issue when that wasn't the original idea when Green was proposing to take over the club. Green said that this was always the plan and he made that known at the time that there would be a share issue within a year of him taking over the club. But if memory serves, didn't he say this share issue would mean that the fans would own the club? However one thing he did say that was interesting was that he would get 10% of the share issue as this was agreed that would be his share for his dealings with the club. "Agreed"? With who? The way he said it was almost as if he was looking after the club for someone else. Hmmmmmm
  13. And then said that he may stay until they win the Champions League!!! lolololololololol
  14. I think what Cowden0 was getting at was that at times this thread ends up more of a step back in time to the OF slagging off each other and just going around and around in circles as they try to out do each other with how many insults they can hurl. C'mon lads it's only a game. If you want to be like wee boys fighting over a sweetie they found then by all means go do it in the rangers/celtic thread where the rest of us can pretend that neither of you exist. At least for a wee while. This thread started as an outsider's look at what was happening at Ibrox but has descended into both cheeks getting their fix of their "ongoing battle of religious stupidity". Just like the Gr£tna fans of a few years ago that would listen to nobody as they enjoyed promotion after promotion, if the SevCo fans would rather ignore every warning sign blaring out at everyone, then that is up to them. If anything is going to happen to the club, them burying their heads in the sand won't change that. They have already had two warnings, once with SDM and once with CW and ignored both of them. Maybe they are hoping for third time lucky. All I know is that if it was my club I wouldn't be so cavalier with my attitude towards what is happening. I certainly wouldn't be disagreeing with everything (even if I knew deep down that it was true) that my biggest rival's fans say just because they are my biggest rivals. SevCo fans are like Dougal from Father Ted (religious irony aside). Ted is Charles Green, makes stuff up or bluffs his way through things and hopes that it all works out in the end. Dougal just goes along with everything he is told, and on the occasions he does question Ted he doesn't understand the answer but just assumes Ted knows what he is talking about and goes along with it anyway. Ally is ofcourse Mrs Doyle. Father Jack? Well, I'll leave it up to you to decide who that is.
  15. "Adidas telt me that we will be the biggest club they will have efter they lost the contract wae Real Madrid." says Chuckles Green. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
  16. EBTs were legal if used properly. Rangers however didn't use them properly. Therefore illegally.
  17. Just heard Green's moan on Sportsound. Who in the media do you think will be first to say they knew he was full of shit?
  18. I wonder if the SevCo players gave up trying when they saw how many of the fans had already left thinking "Job done"?
  19. We all knew it wouldn't last, but it didn't take long for "the sheeple" to "walk away." They weren't slow in telling us how they were behind the team and that a "full house, ahem" against East Fife (official crowd 38160) was proof that they are the best support ever. Now we come forward only a few short weeks and last night's quarter final against a 2nd division team, and how many turned up? 23932. Can those same people who patted themselves on the back at the start of the season explain where everyone has gone if they don't do walking away? That's over 25000 less than the highest "official" attendance. Why? Surely with the team not routing everything in sight as many expected that the fans should still be showing support. Or are they unhappy that they have to spend more cash on top of their season ticket money? If they aren't prepared to do that how the hell does Green think they will part with dosh to invest in shares? What if, as unthinkable as it maybe for SevCo fans, come xmas the team still isn't top of the league and it's not looking as if promotion is guaranteed? Will we go back to the pre-Souness days attendances?
  20. Couple of questions...... Is this the worst start to a season "rangers" old or new have ever had? How much money have the sevco fans lost betting on their club to win 5-0 every game? :-D
