Given that Brechin have spent more than half of the last ten years out of the bottom division I'd hardly call them deadwood. Sure they've hit a bad couple of years but this could be anybody tbh. I certainly hope they survive as Glebe Park is one of the best trips in Scottish football, I'd hate to think I'd never see another match there.
More than half the last ten years out the bottom
Division?! This is the first time City have been in this league for 20 years.
Any reference to us being deadwood is nonsensical.2 -
Brechin mewling to the SPFL and SFA to move the boundary between the LL and HL to ensure that BRECHIN are relegated to the Lowland league is reason enough to hope they vanish into the Highland League never to return.
Do you not think it’s a reasonable ask? Pretty sure any other Angus club would be of the same opinion.-1 -
Why are people still rising to citydiehard? He’s an absolute spanner who clearly isn’t a genuine supporter.

Fucking joke, calling a game off because of a forecast for heavy rain?
If you were an Annan fan making a 7 hour round trip would you still have that view?0 -
Alex Petkov, thoughts guys? According to a local paper he's signing for Brechin.

Why would they even want any of them to stay on? They're the ones getting them relegated
We more or less got rid of our entire squad during the summer and it’s not exactly served us well.1 -
Andy Jackson, Jimmy Scott and Paddy O’Neil are contracted for next season. All 3 I’m sure are from the central belt so I’d be surprised if they were still here next season should we be in the Highland League.
Vast majority of our players are from central belt and wouldn’t expect any to stick around. Think Reekie, Inglis and Pongo are most local in Dundee.1 -
McManus played for Cove in the Highland League whilst living in Fife. I think he got the train from Markinch to Aberdeen for the matches.
Difference being that he will have been on good money to do this.0 -
We wouldn’t cease to exist if we were in the highland league, but without major investment we would struggle to challenge at the right end of the table.
We’d have to move our training further north than Stirling and as a result we would no longer be able to attract players from the central belt. We’d then be competing for players around Dundee/Aberdeen area with other highland league teams who have more money.
It was painful viewing yesterday. It was a must win game yet we found ourselves 4-1 down after an hour. Absolutely pathetic. I’ve said in previous weeks that there are far too many players that are carrying too much weight and are nowhere near fit enough..why is this not being addressed by the Manager!
I look at the bench yesterday and we should have started the vast majority of them! Again I said before that McMinn should have been dropped and he cost us the first goal yesterday by fumbling a routine ball. Why the f**k have we signed Laverty and McCabe to sit on the bench?! Why the f**k is McCord, our most talented player not starting in our biggest game of the season? Don’t give me pish about selection for the conditions...
Over and out0 -
Getting pumped from Aberdeen dev team earlier in the week does not fill me with confidence.
However agree with much that has been said from thin straws to no chance.
Keeper lifed off of his performance v CR but has cost us at crucial times. Time for a change.
Losing on Sat is not end or world but pretty bloody close.....
Also heard, but think its pish, that if we might have a choice btw HL or LL.
And do we have any signings left?
Was reported when Sinclair was recalled that we’ve now got a loan to use. Hopefully on a defender...0 -
Absolutely no doubt we need to win this otherwise it’s curtains in terms of avoiding 10th . I’ll be there as almost a home game for me.

I agree that a couple seem to be carrying a bit of weight but I don't think Jacko is one of them. He is a bit slower than he was but that is probably down to lack of matches .
Agree also that Paddy should be given a chance .
You kidding? Jacko has always been the ‘chunky’ type but he has definitely come back bigger than what he left. He was literally jiggling whenever he was running.
As I said, I understand he’s been out injured but for me he needs to lose at least a stone. Jacko is a class player so we need him in peak condition if we are to get out of this mess.0 -
I do feel we have the quality in the team, however whether we’ll run out of games remains to be seen. We absolutely have to win at Albion on Saturday, that’s for sure.
What concerns me is the level of fitness of our players. Yes Jacko and Boomer have just come back from injury but they are both looking at least a stone overweight with several others looking as if they could lose a bit also.
Barring a few excellent saves and that goal against Stirling, I’m afraid Lewis a McMinn has cost us numerous goals and precious points in recent weeks and needs dropped0 -

Sean Burns released by forfar would take him back
Err why?0 -
In fairness you were pished
Worrying given I was driving.0 -
Ball was apparently out of the pitch and a throw-in wasn't given. They went on to score their second.
I was behind the opposite goal and didn’t look remotely near out. The footage appears to back that up.0 -
Negative way is we still couldn't get it done against what was a terrible team. The linesman made a howler for the equaliser but we should never have allowed an idiot linesman to dictate the amount of points we got.
What did the linesman get wrong?

See Marks Wilson comments - think are spot on.
Played poorly, rushed our passes, never in control and would take a point.
Wish someone had asked him about players coming in.
Gong to be bust this week .
We have no game next weekend so he has a fortnight.0 -
What’s his win ratio against Stenhousemuir?
One of his first games in charge of Brechin we beat Stenny 7-2 at the Glebe.
Some of the football we played under him at the start was outstanding. Think we went about 17 games unbeaten under him at that point but he had some excellent attacking players in Bobby Barr, Alan Trouten, Robert Thomson, Andy Jackson. We did have our struggles under him too though and we weren’t far off relegation playoffs one season.1 -

Not exactly sure but in their time of need I would have thought it a nice gesture for some of the players to make an appearance in a fairly busy City Club to thank the fans for their support. Lewis Mcminn came in for a short time but Aaron Lynass was ironically the only one who made the effort to sit and chat with the locals.
Sorry to be negative again but it is these simple things that can make all the difference , especially when asking people to donate.
Is this a thing? I don't live in Brechin any longer so I tend to drive to games and don't tend to be in the City Club following the game. However I'm up visiting family at the moment so decided to have a few drinks after the game yesterday and I saw McMinn and Watt as well as Wilson who was in to draw the raffle. Given we have two areas of hospitality I wouldn't be necessarily expecting them to come into the bar as well. Does this happen at other clubs?
It's not the players that need to thank the supporters for their donations, it's the Management Committee and those that I spoke to yesterday were truly humbled and thankful for the response that they've had to the fighting fund.
Having read your previous posts I'm not surprised in the slightest that you've managed to find a negative given there weren't many on the field yesterday.

Mark said in his post match interview that Dougie and Reekie are both suspended.

Just made my donation to the "Fighting Fund" and hope this fund helps bring in the players that can help save us from the drop.
Well done to everyone contributing to this - not how we want to do this but needs must. Tough time of year for this kind of thing but I will certainly put in what I can to help also.
Every little helps.

So where then ?
Speak to someone directly that was there or even better, a Committee Member.
The meeting was widely advertised for weeks so if anyone really wanted to be there and find out what was discussed then they could have.0

He has been pish. A decent finish for his first goal today doesn’t change that. He’s offered very little.
I should add that every signing made by Wilson the last couple of months have offered very little, with the possible exception of Petkov.
