St. Mirren vs St. Johnstone 28/10
FrankChickens1 replied to djchapsticks's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
I will forever love Stevie May but he's no longer an SPL footballer. Neither are Brown, Gordon, Considine, MacPherson, Costello, McClelland, Olufanwa etc. Clark is such a blunt striker. Our squad is horrendous -

Kane's been both poor and better than May/Jephcott have been all season. -

Why have we allowed Macpherson back onto a pitch? That penalty incident looked like a red flag to a scottish ref's bull, even though it was 50/50. Maybe Duk didn't help himself by screaming for a pen after falling over shooting earlier. -

Obviously fair chance it'll get explain later and be something different -

Adding the VAR lines will probably help with that -

Because unlike onside and offside lines there is a subjective decision to be made even where in this case it's pretty obvious. To be fair, it's hard to say that he genuinely forced Considine to bullet it into his own net. Even if he was clearly 'interfering' -

VAR showed he was offside. Referee has to decide whether interfering or not as he didn't touch it? Easy no? As in - it's pretty easy to guess that is what happened and what the review was for? Saints TV commentators have no idea -

Plus unless this Craig lad is suggesting that the Dundee United fans at Raith will sing sectarian songs all game, trash half the seats and try to fight families in the car park, I'm not sure there's much relevant to the comparison. -

The red was a definite red. However, I was getting angry watching the var angles on the feed because they kept pausing it on a still image of the reverse angle where it looked like Gordon stamped on his leg in a way that would break it, whereas the video from the front looked like there was no contact. It wasn't until about the third or fourth viewing that I spotted the contact. It was there, it was too high, and it's a red. But the ref spent about twenty seconds looking at totally deceptive still images first which weren't really relevant to the actual contact, so if it had proven to have been a mistake based on that I'd have been furious. (but then it wasn't a mistake, albeit possibly still based on the nonsense angle.) -

He gave nouble a few earlier but played advantage then nouble came back looking for it about two mins later. Probably would have preferred the free kick each time though -

Trying to give Maclean the benefit of the doubt but he makes it really hard as it becomes clear, as the weeks go by, that he's just Callum Davidson. -

I agree it's steep, but who on earth wants the away kit? I think if someone want all three kits then that's on them -

I would agree if noone was talking about him at all - I would have no issue with that state of affairs. But instead we have club journalists attacking him, riddled with factual innacuracies, ages after he was last at the club, for no identifiable reason other than, by a process of deduction, to try and protect the reputation of the former manager. Its completely embarrassing, and in my view only further raises suspicions about the stories put forward against him. -

I hadn't seen the article because I'd only seen him writing nonsense about Vertainen in tweets unrelated to the article. Absolutely embarrassing by both of them. Its impossible for any of us to have any idea as to what level Vertainen is currently at. But the journalistic vandetta against him is pathetic. -

Robert Thompson is a fucking moron. As if anyone would pick a NI Club over Triestina. And as for Eric, how do we know he wasn't signed with the intention of being loaned out? Seems both still on CD's payroll -

My fault, I said in the match thread it was both Carey but you're right. Also helps remove a few begrudging points from Carey's performance, returning it to objectively poor. -

I always feel bad in that situation for folk like Sylla subbed on with an easy game to see out and then its 2-2 shortly after. Wasn't his fault but you must feel like a right p***k. -

I guess what is basically 2 assists counts as benefitting from some of that luxury. Well done Carey. Still horrendous to watch though. -

Felt like we were shifting a decent whack of the players I never wanted to see play for Saints again - but there's a fair few of them out there again today. -
