  1. It just seems absolute madness that they are contemplating bringing back May's "deal" for another vote, given how soundly beaten it has been each time, and yet rather than come up with a new plan or even the idea of one, the choice looks like being something they've already soundly rejected or no deal, which they've also said they have no interest in. There's far too much " not voting for that" and not enough " here's a viable alternative"
  2. That's a pretty good April Fool gag from Westminster. Is the real vote later ?
  3. It's late Sunday afternoon and I've been feeling magnanimous. But you're right .
  4. Aye, I was expecting more from a Man U "wunderkind".
  5. And he's been a bit of a disappointment. Flashes of quality but hasn't lived up to his billing. (IMO)
  6. 9 points out a possible 24 for Feb and March. Must do better.
  7. "On indicative votes, Ms Morgan says she hopes the nation will see that MPs are "trying to move forwards", but adds, "I'm not sure if we're going to get a result tonight, it might have to happen again on Monday." Is this little matter of Brexit not kind of important, what with looming deadlines and all. What happened to Thursday and Friday?
  8. Thanks. I'm at a loss to express my disdain for the whole lot of them.
  9. Apologies if I'm being a bit slow on the uptake here, but if Bercow has said the govt can't have MV3 , how does May offering to step down help her "deal" get to a vote?
  10. It's genius. The planet is already over-populated, I'm sure people having more babies is just the answer.
  11. Good to know Trump is a fine, upstanding citizen, after all.
  12. Being old (forgetful) and lazy ( can't be arsed looking it up) why did Lennon leave Celtic ? Was he sacked or just decided to quit?
  13. Is it not just another name for an Empire biscuit ? Or have I too, had a sheltered life ?
  14. Ta, that's way longer ago than my ability to remember anything
  15. couple of grand/million in a brown envelope type arithmetic probably.
  16. I can't decide what I think is worse. That someone thought a gofundme for "the wall" was a good idea or that they managed to raise over 10 million $ already. Still, only 990 million more to go reach their target.
  17. "The idea now is to park the Europa League up and really focus on the league." quote from Gerrard on the BBC post match. Umm, it's not like you have any choice in the matter.
  18. Depends on whether any of them actually believe that her trip to beg/plead/bargain for a better deal with the EU will make a difference.
  19. It's not like the Tories to put themselves before the good of the country.
  20. Even you don't believe that Donald Trump puts together a more convincing argument than anybody.
  21. I wouldn't be so sure. I live in the US and I'm constantly horrified by how much support he stills seems to have from the general populace. Of course, I could just be mixing with a bunch of crazed right wingers but I don't think so. Trump seems to be getting them to associate him with their country's status, so the world laughing at Trump = a bad thing in their eyes.
  22. I was a goalkeeper as a youngster, and Bobby Clark was my hero. I even perfected his trademark stance, the one where he's decided he's not going to reach the ball, so why bother diving for it.
  23. Just for you............... https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-bob-woodward-fear_us_5b8ea3fae4b0511db3dc8956 https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/sep/04/bob-woodward-book-fear-donald-trump-white-house And from the Guardian piece, "Days after the nation mourned the death of the Arizona senator and Vietnam war hero John McCain, there are new bombshell disclosures about the depth of Trump’s disdain for the man. Woodward is reported to describe a dinner at which Trump told senior White House officials that McCain had been cowardly in getting himself released early from a Vietnamese prisoner of war camp. The defense secretary, Jim Mattis, had to correct the president by pointing out that the truth was in fact the direct opposite – McCain had refused an offer of early release from his captors, out of solidarity with fellow prisoners."
