  1. For all of Martindale's good signings, there are some amount of failures too. If a 27 year old striker plays a few games then gets pumped out on loan, that's not a good sign for the future. Similar happened to Dale Carrick a years ago. So I guess we've seen the last of Reilly and Poplatnik as well.
  2. Panayiotou to go out on loan in January. Do you think Jack Hamilton hides whenever Martindale is about, hoping he gets forgotten about and doesn't get sent out on loan to the seaside leagues again?
  3. Max seemed to do himself a bit of harm diving for a ball at some point. The transfer window needs to hurry up and open so that Martindale can get us a real sub goalie!
  4. I think Anderson up front on his own, pumping balls up to him is pretty pointless. He must be one of the shortest players in our team. For me, the ideal scenario would be 2 up front. Shinnie/Nouble as a target man, bringing the ball down and laying it up for Anderson to slot them away. Although I thought Shinnie was underwhelming last night. He needs to shape up or he'll probably find himself released from yet another club.
  5. Every player must have been absolutely knackered last night, because they all busted their nuts for 90 minutes (I also bust a nut after that result). If only we could play like that every week a great result but, for me, it just papers over the cracks. Still caressing that panic button!
  6. I think a player of Jamie Walker's calibre and pedigree, seeking a shot at redemption/a second chance to rescue his career after failing to fulfill early potential is what we used to be all about. Taking guys that have had their share of career knocks, polishing them up and pumping a long ball to them
  7. Makes you wonder if Martindale is losing faith in his own recruitment skills, which I believed were brilliant. Panayiotou is only just being included on the bench recently after being the subbed sub in the League Cup earlier in the season. Sean Kelly seemed to have a decent few games then was dropped. I'm not convinced by Ben Williamson, he's not good or experienced enough for the top flight, but he seems to have been dropped as well. Not sure if there's stuff happening behind the scenes that the fans aren't aware of, but the regular chopping and changing in the team makes me think Martindale has realised some of his signings aren't as good as he thought and pumps them out of the team.
  8. Maybe lacking a bit of quality alternatives when injury strikes, but in terms of a solid starting 11 I'd say it's the best in a while. A few years ago, we'd be crying ourselves to sleep every night dreaming of having players like Shinnie, Omeonga, Devlin and Sibbald in our team.
  9. Or Jack Ross being sent to the stand again, being verbally abused, standing up and staring at his abusers like he's a big scary man, realising he's not a big scary man and that the abuse is just getting worse and sitting back down again in silence.
  10. Martindale had talked himself out of keeping things the same for the game against Aberdeen. He needs an experienced coach or assistant in the dugout to run things past. It's no surprise we're misfiring with a backroom staff full of rookies. The squad, on paper, is possibly the best squad we've had in a good number of years.
  11. Hopefully Hibs are as poor as the patter on their social media accounts.
  12. I think us going 1 up and the usual Hearts boo boys getting more vocal would have changed the complexion of the game. But how much it would have changed things, we'll never know. Any of the JT's on here wanting to own up to sectarian singing and the monkey chants after a song about Marvin Bartley?
  13. He does look like he'd actually be an effective target man. Playing hoofball up to Bruce Anderson is utterly pointless.
  14. Not in the section next to the DBM though surely? ALSO heard sectarian singing from the Hearts crowd several times. Does the governing body still do a match report to include things like this to punish clubs?
  15. Do we need a 'half-time teamtalk coach'? I can't remember the last time we came out in the second half of a game all guns blazing! The first half was the best I've seen us play in a while, the second half made me consider throwing my season ticket at Martindale! I'm caressing the panic button now Also, hope I'm wrong, but I could have sworn I heard a few monkey chants from the Hearts fans after a chant about Marvin Bartley ALSO, do other clubs have away fans sitting among the home crowd, not hiding their celebration when they score? Or is it just because we're a wee club with no real rivals or fans?
  16. Martindale isn't even sure if he enjoys the job. If we can't get an experienced assistant in to help him, I'd rather see him go back to his old job of assistant/head of recruitment/puppet master and get a front man in to do what Martindale says. Or get back to the hoofball that worked so well!
  17. How rusty must he be to only get a one month deal at St Johnstone.
  18. Anyone else get serious anxiety at the thought of Max getting injured and Maley having to come on in a Premiership game? absolutely crazy that a bit of nepotism, and some other contributing factors, has got him a place on the bench at a (diddy) Premiership club
  19. Stuart Cosgrove has driven me to the point of taking delight in St Johnstone losing.
  20. Yogi to be appointed 'passun the baw' coach. I suppose he does have unfinished business as he never did get us playing the Barcelona football that he was trying to implement
  21. I assume you see Celtic win most of those weeks. The difference on Saturday was that you did not win and missed a last minute penalty. Special.
