Success at international level IS assessed on qualification for major tournaments. MAJOR success is quantified by winning those tournaments. All four managers are equal in this regards. I don't give a toss how many more games they drew and how much they "nearly" qualified for the WC. But go ahead and accept mediocrity. You probably think climbing from 85 to 72 in the FIFA rankings is a big "success" too

I would say qualifying for the WC or Euros with a collection of the nations greatest players, over a handful of games, might be a bit easier than challenging Celtic and Rangers multi million pound squad over 40 games.
