  1. To be fair, it’s very impressive to lose over 40% of your games, despite having the second best defence in the league.
  2. This has to be a joke? Surely we haven’t got an award named this. Did they explain what this actually means?
  3. If true about Otoo, that’s a massive loss. Our midfield is a lot worse without him in there. I think he’s been fantastic this season and it was between him and Hamilton for POTY for me. Hopefully he’s back for pre-season and nothing too serious.
  4. I agree. I couldn’t understand the ref’s decision there at all. MFW gets to the ball, Queens Park defender immediately clatters into him, not getting the ball. Surely that’s an obvious foul? Ref gave a goal kick, so was obviously aware that the defender didn’t get the ball. Anywhere on the park, if two players go for the ball, when one gets there first and the other then clatters into them, it’s a foul. Really similar to the Aberdeen penalty that was given yesterday. Referee didn’t give it and it was decided it was a “clear and obvious” error.
  5. Mehmet Fisher Benedictus MFW Welch-Hayes KRH Hamilton Edwards Todd McCann. Kane that would be my guess.
  6. I agree. But he was also very honest after the United win, when he spoke to the BBC. Said that in hindsight, he had been too stubborn and stuck with our best shape when everyone’s fit, when we didn’t have the right players available. He’s still a young and inexperienced manager. He’s going to make mistakes and we’re going to have rough patches. The main thing is that he learns from them. We need to see progress from players and manager/coaching team next season. There’s no doubt about that.
  7. Easy home win. 3-0 Pars, Todd with 2 and Kane with the other. Safety secured.
  8. I just want to win this weekend, put this season behind us and trust that the club do what they can to avoid a repeat of what went wrong this season. Assuming we ensure our survival, I hope the club do what they can to add more experience to the squad for next season. I’d also hope that we can come to mutual agreements to end a few contracts early/allow players to move on for free and try to improve certain areas of the team. If we want to be challenging at the top of the championship, we need a new goalkeeper. If we can bring in MFW permanently, I think we’re ok defensively. But in midfield, we need to upgrade on both Allan and Chalmers. In games against teams in the top 4 in particular, the 2 of them have been overrun and have looked completely out of their depth. If we want to be at that standard, I don’t think they’re what we need. We also have other fringe/cover players that just haven’t produced the quality that we need. I just don’t know how realistic it is that we can offload these guys. It also goes without saying that signing Chris Kane, or another striker that will improve us, is a must.
  9. Not quite. We’d be 6 ahead with 2 games left. If we then lost our last 2 games and Queens Park won theirs, they could still go above us. They’re up against Arbroath and then an Airdrie side who’ll be resting players in their last 2.
  10. Airdrie the much better team today and last time we played. Thoroughly deserved both victories and their playoff spot. Credit to McCabe for the job he’s done there in the last 2 years. Regarding the Benedictus challenge, happened right in front of us and Bene got a solid foot onto the ball, was an absolutely fantastic challenge. But can see why it probably looked a pen from the other side.
  11. Chris Kane - 50 championship games, 22 goals and 6 assists. Goal involvement every 1.78 games Brian Graham - 280 championship games, 98 goals, 30 assists. Goal involvement every 2.19 games Am I missing something? Worth noting, adding assists actually makes it closer. On game/mins per goal, Kane is much better.
  12. This is peak P&B right here. Of course you can’t tell anything from the video if you haven’t watched it yet people on here never fail to amaze me.
  13. You have to be at it here. Muirhead’s right foot clearly stands on Kane’s ankle. At this point you’re actively choosing not to see it, if you’re still trying to claim that’s not a penalty. It’s just really clumsy from Muirhead. edit - missed the post above once you’d actually watched it. Still not sure why you quoted saying you couldn’t see the contact, before watching the footage though.
  14. Yeah, pretty sure I’d go down grabbing my ankle if someone stood on it with their studs. Muirhead surely can’t be the best defender Thistle have? Guy’s a bombscare. Thistle fans will probably still claim it was a dive for the penalty though and ignore Brian Graham’s actual dives. Don’t get me wrong, Graham’s a really good player at this level and he’s a proper pest to play against (I’ve said as much on our thread). But you can’t start moaning about other players going down easily/diving when your team has the likes of him and Fitzpatrick throwing themselves to the ground, as they did yesterday. Remember Graham’s attempt to get Bene sent off just before half time? Grabbed a fistful of Bene’s shirt and just threw himself to the ground still holding it
  15. Agree with people above, Brian Graham would fall into the same bracket as guys like Chris Hamilton, Josh Falkingham, Andy Smith. Hate playing against them, but the kind of guy you absolutely love when they’re at your club. Wears his heart on his sleeve and does whatever it takes to win. Plays with real passion/desire.
