  1. At least they wear decent colours. I recommend the chicken and haggis pies at Bellsdale. They are very, very good.
  2. As far as I'm aware the tax issue was due down to a problem during the Barr era which LC paid off as he had taken on all the debts. I may be wrong though. Dealing with HRMC isn't always straight forward. Also he's based his decisions on the evidence and circumstances at the time. Unfortunately alot of things happen and we don't get the full details of how and why. The club has had issues with HMRC on more than one occasion. The second of which coincided with the sale of the car park. Barr was long gone by then.
  3. For a cup game the away team receives 40% of the gate receipts. The home team is allowed to deduct 20% from the overall total to cover match day expenses.
  4. Unfortunately this is probably the form team in Scotland, can't see us getting a big away support allocation either. Probably struggle to even get a thousand tickets. I don't think they can restrict the away allocation for cup games as much as they have in the league.
  5. Now I think about it, that sounds familiar. Don't we really got our money's worth there, apart from that free kick at Douglas Park.
  6. We didn't pay £150k for Peter Weir, I'm not sure we actually paid a fee for him.. Our most expensive purchase was either Gary Teale or Mark Campbell, and neither of them cost that much.
  7. Well if he's going to make a statement he should make sure the facts are facts. And the claim that Rangers were top scorers is false. I wonder if anything else in the statement is inaccurate .
  8. Just catching up with the thread, hadn't seen King's deluded statement. Not the most significant inaccurate claim contained in it, but he thinks Rangers were the top scorers in the SPFL last season. Clearly has no idea that the league has four divisions, and both Ayr and Peterhead scored more.
  9. The Development League has been replaced by the Reserve League. The SPFL clearly need to update their paperwork, there is no u17 league any more, it's now an u18 league. I was at the game where Muir was sent off but I can't remember if it was a straight red or two yellows. It was a pre season match against BSC Glasgow.
  10. At least two part time teams have been to semis in the last 30 years. St Johnstone took Rangers to a replay in 1989 and Clydebank played Celtic in 1990, both in the Scottish Cup. Probably the best performance of that era was in 1982 when bottom tier Forfar took Rangers to a replay in the Scottish Cup semi final.
  11. Graham, Baird, Ecrepont, Thorburn, Griffiths, Faulds, Martin, Millarvie (I think), Hilton, M McKenzie, Murphy. Balfour replaced Millarvie at half time. Don't know who the other 2 subs were. Murphy scored our goal. Maybole were awarded two of the softest penalties you will ever see.
  12. It was done in the early (I think) 90s. No guarantee it would make any decent amount of money, as far as I'm aware there was a significant amount of shares left unallocated. I'm sure the way the company is set up shareholders need board approval.
  13. They're not worth much more now. I'm sure mine were valued at 20p each.
  14. Back in the day there were rumours that Eisenhower was friendly with one of the locals when he stayed at Culzean.
  15. Murdoch and Ferguson confirmed. Just waiting on the goalie now.
  16. Ahem, his name is McCowan. He had a great season with 20s as an attacking midfielder and will probably feature on the bench again this season. How much game time he'll get is anybody's guess.
  17. Both could very much be true. We should find out soon enough.
  18. Can't see it being Doyle. He trained with us 2 or 3 weeks ago but has obviously moved on since then.
  19. Dream on. No party was spoiled as we only had an outside chance of winning the league that day. It might surprise you to know that we really don't care about Stranraer. We only have one derby.
