  1. 7-0 according to Largs' twitter account.
  2. Some people bring other attributes to the club, it's not all about bringing large amounts of money to the table. And as I have already said, he's been a director for a while.
  3. Club Secretary, and former Depute Chief Executive of South Ayrshire Council. He was a long term season ticket holder prior to his appointment.
  4. So are you saying there's a possibility actual football is going to be replaced entirely by video games? Isn't that VAR ☺?
  5. It's still the same principle, and paper tickets are available for people without the ticket account. They have been on sale at Somerset since last week and will continue to be. As it happens I was able to buy a ticket for the December game at Palmerston at our club shop. The biggest difference is that your turnstile operators don't scan the tickets, but they are still cashless.
  6. Proof, if ever proof was needed, that Ayr fans love a moan. We are hardly the first club to have cashless turnstiles and we have already had a taste of it since Dunfermline, Inverness, Ross Co and QoS are all cashless for away fans at least. It's hardly as though there is no cash option, just that you don't hand your money over at the turnstile any more.
  7. It's no big deal. They had a similar piece with Sean Winter talking about a cup tie against Dunfermline recently. It was quite an interesting read.
  8. 93 I think, which puts him 9th equal in the all-time list.
  9. 1991 to be precise, pretty sure it was the same day as Ayr Gold Cup. I think the next week we won 4-3 at Cappielow with 3 goals in the last 12 minutes. That was our record away victory today, had only managed 6 goal victories before.
  10. Can't believe a Dunfermline fan would want to get shot of Into the Valley. One of the best run out songs there is. Anyway, let's get Sham 69 back on at Somerset.
  11. I'm not so convinced. Their average crowd last season was barely ahead of Dunfermline's, and was 10th largest in Scotland. Taking the respective away supports out of the equation, I'm not sure they would get any more than Killie through the gate week on week. In Scotland there are two massive clubs, three big clubs and the rest. Dundee United are amongst the rest, albeit near the top of that group.
  12. They'll certainly have more coaches than us. Whether their arrangement is better, well who knows. McCall came up against Neilson 3 times last season, finished 7-2 on aggregate. Neilson might do well this season, but because they have a new owner chucking money at them. Just now. Robbie was a disaster at MK Dons, as was Lee McCulloch in his previous role.
  13. That would not be a good thing. Property developers taking over smaller clubs tends not to end well. Hopefully it's coincidence.
  14. I'm disappointed in oor Lawrence. Signing for a club at the same level, while seemingly turning down offers from Sunderland and Hull is such a waste of talent. And I'm not convinced Robbie Neilson and Lee McCulloch are the right coaches for him. I've disliked Dundee Utd ever since they shafted us over Craig Conway, even more so with the way they let the Liam Smith news out days before we played them. A club without class.
  15. We also have a part wooden stand from 1924 which costs more to maintain than modern concrete block (relatively speaking at least). The terracing steps have 40 years or so of feet traipsing about them and crush barriers need to be checked and painted regularly. I would imagine our stadium costs take a decent amount out the budget.
  16. And there could be a spike in sales from non Partick fans who appreciate what they've done. I wonder what McAvennie would make of the shirt Altrincham wore as a one off last season. It's much less subtle.
  17. But if only 990 season tickets are used for that game the season ticket holder attendance is 990.
  18. I have no idea. Maybe it's ego like the Old Firm, who count season tickets in their attendances even when they haven't been used. If you've ever been to the grounds formerly known as Victoria Park and Caledonian Stadium you'll know what I mean when I suggest they over report.
  19. I'm very sceptical that the attendances reported by Ross County and Inverness accurately reflect the number of people who actually come through the turnstiles. I've heard it said that Ross County issue loads of tickets to local schools and then count them, whether they are used or not. It'll be interesting to see whether there is any difference in our crowds now that tickets will be scanned and computers will be counting, rather than staff recording with a five bar gate.
  20. I was under the impression that St Johnstone were a Progressive Performance academy, the same as AUFA, rather than Elite. I stand to be corrected though.
  21. Sunderland is a surprisingly good night out. And it isn't a fiver a pint. The Sun is reporting that he has been offered a contract by the Black Cats.
