  1. What I don’t understand is, if Rovers were struggling, why didn’t they just send Jack Hamilton out to assault the goalkeeper off the ball again?
  2. Scottish football team surprised at having to play in a bit of wind of rain. If we didn’t play in wind and rain we wouldn’t play at all.
  3. Indeed. United with and without Docherty are like two completely different teams. And losing Declan Gallagher midseason wasn’t ideal either.
  4. Yeah. If my uncle had tits he’d be my auntie. There’s still eleven games to go and Morton are already out of the title race; I don’t think you can disagree with that.
  5. On a good run for sure, no argument. Best team in the division over a season - surely that’s what the league table is for? edit ; I’ll go further; Utd have won 15 and lost 4; Morton have won 10 and lost 8.
  6. Absolutely. If it wasn’t for you being 14 points behind the leaders you’d definitely be right.
  7. Aye, Thomson has been outstanding at right back. Let’s move him to the left wing.
  8. But if Utd don’t go up you might have another 13-0 aggregate over three games again next season. Oops, forgot you’ll probably not be in the division next year…
  9. I left before the whistle. Been going since 1978 and I don’t remember ever doing it before.
  10. Had to go check the archives : First time Airdrie have beaten Utd since their old switcheroo; United have won all previous 8 matches. Going further back, it’s the first win for Airdrie since a 2-1 in 1995, with two goals in last five mins; 14 meetings ago. Airdrie had only won two of the previous meetings going back to 1981, and they haven’t had a bigger win at Tannadice since 1932 (when they won 7-2). Worth a Carlsberg or two.
  11. Meekison was honking though, as was Mochrie. Grimshaw did better than either. I was sure I saw Fotheringham coming on at one point, but then he seemed to vanish again for the rest of the game.
  12. Thomson was excellent, better than he’d been on Sat, can’t believe the fuds in hospo gave United’s mom to Gallagher. Actually thought Greive had a decent game tonight. Sibbald suddenly looked like someone who’s spent most of his career at Falkirk and Livingston…
  13. I never - like NEVER - leave early. I did tonight, I couldn’t stand another round of booing and swearing. As soon as that second goal went in I was aff.
  14. Ref was certainly getting a booing thru most of the game, but I’m sure those at the end were for the team and Goodwin as well. Thoroughly deserved win for Airdrie, better team on the night. Ref was a tosspot, somehow managed to book four United guys even though the team had only committed three fouls by that point, while Airdrie were up in the mid-teens with no yellows. It had no effect on the game however, and it would be poor form to deflect from an excellent Airdrie performance.
  15. If you’re heading back west then anywhere from Clepington Rd out towards the Kingsway. You’ll be on the wrong side of the ground, but it’s not far. Closer to Tannadice than Clepington Rd is a no-parking zone. Parking on the streets behind the Centenary usually not too bad if you’re early enough, and you’ll get away reasonably quickly.
  16. Sorry, my mistake, thought was a tiresome snide comment. Expected a joke might have been funny.
  17. No, that’s what you’re saying I’m saying. I’m saying that game at Hampden at Christmas was a turgid game to watch with very little in the way of entertainment, that’s the top and the bottom of it. No further opinion offered.
  18. True, but only one of those set out to create a no-fun dirge. The other were just incapable of changing it.
  19. League will be done two weeks before that, mark my words.
  20. Thought Queens looked more like the adventurous exciting team that came to Tannadice (and got cuffed 4-1) than the no-fun dirge merchants that ground. out a 0-0 at Xmas.
