  1. They definitely could’ve scored two more in the first half, absolutely. The second one Mullin missed in particular was very poor.
  2. True, but sometimes it is. There’s no guarantee of winning a game, ever. You can only set up to try and create as many chances as you can and then trust that you can convert more than the opposition. If Rovers plan was to sit tight and then someone could rattle it into the top corner from 30 yards with one minute to go - that’s not a great plan.
  3. Meh, there’s a fair bit of luck involved, particularly in the linesman not spotting the offside goal. You could look at last night in isolation, or you could look at the pile of goals Utd have scored this season. They could easily have had three or four last night, with the same performance. Rovers had one shot in the second half.
  4. He’s on 12 assists for the season already. As seen earlier this year he’s clearly a confidence player.
  5. Indeed. They’ve done well. They’ve got some really good things about them, but I do think they’ve carried a fair amount of luck, last night being another example. They still haven’t won a game by more than one goal and as we’ve seen over the last month and a half, are quite capable of losing to just about every team in the division. They’ve had two huge wins against United in the head to heads. Had those games gone the other way - which they could easily have done - United would be 13 points clear. I know that sounds a ridiculous thing to say, but that - and the massive difference in GD - shows the consistency United have against the rest of the league that the Rovers just don’t have. Nothing is certain of course, but that’s what makes me confident United will win the league.
  6. I imagine Utd will still win the league because despite the result last night, the Rovers aren’t nearly as good a team. An offside goal and a wonder strike, you can’t really account for these things, they just sometimes happen in football. The meltdown from sections of the United support is over the top, imo. Rovers do have a very high points tally for this point in the season, they’re making a good fist of it, but over 13 games, playing the way they do, I don’t see them getting more points than Utd. Unless they revive their lucky-monkey-paw run of earlier in the season and start scoring a last minute winner every week.
  7. That should’ve been 4-4. VAR absolute nonsense. Was Well’s fourth really disallowed for Butcher’s push? Insane.
  8. Agreed, based on honours, although United’s two Scottish Cups and two LCs probably edge Dundee’s three wins in the third competition. On attendances United are 5,000 behind Hibs and 3,000 ahead of Dundee. I’d have the Dees in 7th tbh.
  9. Recency bias plus Dunfermline and Falkirk and half a dozen similar sized clubs being down the leagues.
  10. Hibs and Dundee Utd are the only two I don’t think anyone sensible would disagree with. All the rest up for debate.
  11. Twenty years since the Dees won at Tannadice. Twelve games, conceding 34 goals, very nearly three a game. I wouldn’t want to see my team take that kind of beating from their biggest rivals again and again and again.
  12. True, I suppose when the Dees are away at Tannadice it’s probably preferable for you if you can’t see what’s actually happening.
  13. At least at Tannadice you can see the game for your £25. I paid £22 at Ayr last week and couldn’t see a fecking thing past halfway.
  14. Wiki says Findlay is on loan at Killie and is signed to Oxford.
  15. I’m pretty sure he was using quotation marks to be sarcastic, i.e. “Fortress” Tannadice because it isn’t much of a fortress at all. A so-called “Fortress”.
  16. That link was the very dab by the way, all sorted. Cheers
  17. Apparently I do need a reservation for this one. Will check out your link, cheers.
  18. I’ve got another train question. I’m booked on Eurostar back from Brussels on the day after the Hungary - to get there I’ve to travel from Stuttgart to Frankfurt on the ICE which requires a seat reservation. I assume those reservations are not yet available to buy yet cos there seem to be none available…. Anyone any ideas?
  19. Do you reckon Cologne to Bonn will be covered by the local free trains?
