A question on 15 to 1 today was apparently:
In which BORDERS town do Queen of the south play?

After the cycle scheme year's up they contact you and ask you if you want to pay a one off fee for an extended three years lease. After the three years the bikes yours.
I got a road bike and helmet for £600, worked out about £30 a month ish, then had to pay a one off £16. So it's a worth while saving.
The maximum spend your allowed is a grand but you can buy accessories as well, helmet, lights, shoes, cleats etc. Wish I got more accessories at the time.

I look forward to the " league prices will apply for this game " statement, and no thought to anything else .
Seems harsh.
Are we not the cheapest full time team to watch in the country?
Can't be far off it.

All good moves financially for the players I'm sure.
They will only be good moves career wise in hindsight if they get regular football.
They could have done a Kerr/Baird and manipulated a move but they've been professional so all the best to them.

Your voodoo doll must have worked Hawk.

Russell out for a couple of weeks with a knee problem.

So the 08/15 squad would be:
MacDonald
Clark
Dowie
Mitchell
Higgins
Durnan
Thomson
Harris
Holt
Carmichael
Burns
MacFarlane
Tosh
McKenna
McShane
Paton
Russell
McQuilken
Dobbie
O'Connor
Lyle
Reilly
I'm happy with that.
Only 5 retired players, let's reunite the band for next season. ;-)

When Kerr was initially helping Fowler out he seemed very enthusiastic and I fully expected him to be made his assistant when things got finalised.Heard today. Kerr had his eye on being fowlers no2. When JT was given the nod his attitude changed and threw the toys out of the pram
When he didn't I assumed that it was Kerr's decision that he wanted to concentrate on playing.
Perhaps not though.
As for the training, I'd be surprised if Fowler didn't know the score in regards to what's a good and bad session. I certainly wouldn't be taking Kerr's word for it in isolation.

I'm old enough to answer this, and it's yes without a doubt.
What do posters mean when they say experienced?
I'm assuming they mean old or been about the coaching scene for a while I.e Chisholm, Brannigan, McCabe etc that's not really something that I'm bothered about.
I wouldn't mind if Fowler brought in someone of a similar background to himself, surely if you've been a player for 20+ years and have passed your coaching badges you're experienced enough.
The main/difficult thing would be finding someone who's ideas and philosophies gel with Fowlers but are unique enough to still bring something different to the table.

Does anyone think an EXPERIENCED ASSISTANT should have been hired?

What club is going to pay a transfer fee for a player that they could sign on a pre-contract?
Especially in Scottish football.
The only player that it would make sense for any club to pay a fee for in January is McShane as he isn't out of contract in the summer.

We won't lose anyone in January, at the end of the season probably but not January.

As everyone know Queens have had a bad injury list all season but who would make way for the player who are currently out to come back into the squad?
For me it would be nice just to have a stronger bench to give us some more options in the later stages of games.
Can't remember where I read it (maybe Friday's Record?) but Burns has suffered a minor set back so won't be back till January at earliest.
Reading between the lines I'd assume this season Is a write off for Mitchell.
I probably wouldn't bother starting Paton unless the team were in a poor run of form, as there's no point shoehorning him in and upsetting regulars for a couple of games before his hamstring goes again.

Good update from Mark Blount on the official site.

It's my Xmas night out that night, and I've already paid for it. Bugger.
Would generally quite like the odd Friday night game, just not that Friday.

I haven't, both missed chances, both could have done better. Yet both have played big parts in last two games. So I'm overly not too concerned with that cause at lease were making the chances
I wasn't meaning you specifically qos1990, I just meant QoS fans in general.

I get that, but Lyle would replace Baird. There's no point in scrutinising every aspect of Baird's game while glossing over Lyle's.

There's nothing wrong with a bit of variety Hawk.
At the moment it's working well so I'd keep Lyle on the bench.
Speaking of Lyle, on Saturday I thought his miss (dragged past post unmarked from about 10 yards) was pretty bad but I haven't seen it mentioned on here or MAD board.
Was it a harder chance than I thought?

McKenna hopes to be back in training the end of this week he said yesterday.

The more I think about Fowler the more I like the idea.
I'm coming round to it, I'll see how he handles his audition on Saturday.
Has Barry Robson stated he wants to move in to management or has McBookie just plucked his name out of thin air?

Sports reporters on BBC breakfast!
They talk to the hosts about what their main story is for 30 seconds saying something like 'oh didn't Wales do well last night, some goal from Bale to win it.' Then they turn to face the camera and start their spiel, 'Hello, Wales got off to a good start last night after Gareth Bale scored two goals to win the game 2-1.'
Every morning that's how they set their stories up, does my head in.

I'd imagine if they do decide to take a punt on him that they would let him see out the season with us and sign a pre contract in January.
Not sure how much we'd get as a development fee?

Girl in my work once claimed her sisters kid weighed in at 12lbs....I'm calling absolute bullshit.
My niece was 11lb 4oz.
