  1. 3-0 down in a must win game, you have 1 player up front with any ability who is crying out for Moffat to play alongside him. He takes him off, leaves Salkeld on…. he takes O’Conner of and plays Chalmers on the left fucking wing. Quit Jim, just Quit
  2. “Jim, how do you sum that one up?” Meh, I get paid either way Callum, regardless of the score
  3. We’ve barely left our half, it is 1 way traffic, QOTS are showboating. He needs to go tonight, no subs after an hour during this shambles is unforgivable. no interest in changing it He needs to go tonight after this. If he doesn’t, he’s a fraud, he’s hanging about to get paid off.
  4. The last few weeks we have looked like we were improving and not sitting back as much. Duffy has learned f**k all. We could be 6 down and there is still 40min to go. I hope he quits tonight, make it easy for everyone if I was Smith, I’d be getting on the bus now and heading back to Ayr, let this shower walk home.
  5. Adeloye hasn’t been the worst, He’s had no support. Salkeld controls the ball, sprints 5 yards in the direction he is facing before looking to pass behind him.
  6. We have found loads of gaps at the back of the queens defence but the players we have are either not in the middle or the player making the final ball is pish. All down to team selection, 1 up front, this defeat, like many others is 100% on Duffy and his style of play. He thought defending would win this. The game was lost 10min in and he’s still not changed it. We could sign Messi in the January window and Duffy wouldn’t play him.
  7. Moffat has been a Big part of our forward play and we have looked better going forward in recent weeks, dropping Afolabi and retuning Moffat and Bradley have brought rare bright spots Sal-fuckin-keld
  8. Stevie Bell almost gave away a goal a game but he was switched on the rest of the time and offered a lot more. McGinty offers nothing, doesn’t score goals, can’t pass, isn’t a great leader, can’t play in another position.
  9. Bradley has been mildly impressive every time he has played, We play Salkeld McCallister was mince last week, keeps his place. Sean McGinty still plays You can blame the players he has at his disposal but he could fix these things
  10. Most folk are aware that we are mid table bye to the fact other teams are just as bad as us. if Morton and QOTS win the next two and we lose, it’ll put a different complexion on our situation. We will be the worst team in the league. The anger coming from the support has been focused on trying to stop this happening. Off field changes this week have partially addressed this. The next step is getting players in, we need guys in on January the 1st rather than the the 31st. If we are still pish after players come in, then I don’t see Duffy surviving.
  11. There are things you can say in football as a chairman or MD that can have a knock-on effect. if you come out and say you have cash to spend, then clubs up the price of the players you want to sign. For Mathie to come in and sack a manager may look from the outside that he is difficult to work with and the creative freedom of managers would be limited at Ayr because it’s Mathie, who has never been a manager, who dictates that. The Spears interview, he didn’t sound like he was about to sack Duffy. With Mathie being here long term, it will allow him to oversee the January window perhaps with the future in mind rather than to the end of the season.
  12. He hinted at that at Ayr and the talk was that Kerr would be first team coach under him. If he is planning to put his feet up and let Archibald or Scally take over, he might leave with them 8 months later.
  13. He played Crawford and Murdoch out wide most weeks for us. He seems to sign a quality player when he gets the chance, regardless of whether he needs them or not. then rearranged the whole team to accommodate them. I don’t think McCall will take Thistle up, or if he does, keep them there. But he will get them to be a top 4 championship team. The key will be who you replace him with and don’t be fooled by the stability he creates. It’ll all fall apart within weeks. he is a great manager at this level, like Dick Campbell, he can get players to run through walls for him but he’s never managed the next step. He maybe peaked at Ayr and didn’t have the interest to rebuild and he’ll maybe do the same with thistle if a better job comes up.
  14. McCall is one of the most organised managers in Scottish football. He has plans in place months in advance and it would be a massive mistake if Thistle got rid of him. He needs good coaches working under him and is always suspect defensively. He needs a good coach who organises a deep defensive line. Im sure you could tempt Duffy for the right price
  15. Had a listen to the interview, sounds like he’s been talking to staff who have put him in his place he said he wanted to get the club involved in the community and was reminded they won a UEFA award for the work in the community. He wants to start developing youth players and mentioned Crawford, McCowan and Forrest and was reminded about Shankland Harvey and Devlin. He said it in a humble way and gave credit to Ayr and said it is something that needs harnessed and developed. He didn’t give the impression that he was about to sack Duffy any time soon. Spoke about playing style and not telling him what players to sign. I get the feeling it will be more an organic process than immediate. That there will be a structure put in place first and a development plan rather than a quick fix.
  16. Shit, someone tell Raith Rovers before they make an arse of themselves
  17. Wait till we get pumped off QOTS BOOO MATHIE, FUCKIN BOOO GTF!!! BOOO it gives hope that there is a plan in place to hopefully improve the situation which is what we needed rather than just hoping we are out-shited by other teams
  18. His comments were pretty vague at the time he bought the land. Not sure he knew himself. I’m sure he said something along the lines of balancing the charm of Somerset which is popular with visiting fans who like to stand and watch football with a modern hospitality offering. So either the north terrace will be a seating/standing hybrid with a new hospitality suite or he’s putting in a new snack bar. No plans have been lodged yet or someone would have spotted them so it won’t be done for a couple of years at least. whatever the change, it’ll need to make money. So I am guessing the hospitality will be part of it. I’m not sure if the changes to the hospitality over the years have lessened the appeal, it used to be individual areas, you had your own (free on the day,but included in the price) bar and it was a quiet, professional environment. it became a supporters bar with no dress code and fans could pay a fee to watch the game from there. it became less of an event and a day out to a way of having a pint right up to just before kickoff. The hub should replace that. In my last job, they took hospitality at most major grounds and sporting events. My old boss said Ayrs was the best by a country mile because of the service. it was reduced mostly through necessity I guess during the financial slump at the club and globally.
  19. Might be the other way around. "Here Jim, I've signed these boys for you" If it is, maybe he won't want to stick around for it.
  20. It was more a joke about how shite our team is just now. McKenzie could have been out on loan this season based on how much he has played. Ecripont is 3rd choice left back, beyond that I’d be hard pushed to name another youth player that isn’t already on loan at a junior team. id rather they played out on loan than a game at KG5 every week
  21. I agree with all of what you say, on this section though. In my opinion, if Hopkin or Duffy were in charge of Raiths current squad this season, they would be struggling with us at the bottom of the league. appointing the right manager is absolutely key to the development of the playing squad. Fans would back anything if there is a clear forward plan and obvious improvements to be seen. Up until yesterday, that wasn’t massively apparent. Going down at a whimper because we are part time and have a small budget is understandable. Going down with a full time team because of a managers inadequacy is another. Clyde, Airdrie and Stirling Albion are ghosts of clubs that were on the rise off the park and it can easily happen to Ayr if apathy creeps in. We need to be at a stage as a club and support that we don’t let standards slip from year to year and aim for continual improvement where budgets allow.
  22. Raith have signed Sam Stanton. A player who has underachieved and flattered to deceive for years. Just like Dario Zanatta
  23. The only drawback I can see with this is, teams actually wanted players from Hibs on loan, we are going to have to hawk some absolute shite in the coming weeks, if any clubs do take players they probably won’t answer the phone again. We did farm a lot of players out to junior teams over the last few years for development so hopefully that will continue while they progress through the pyramid system. there have been so few players on the bench for the first team. It’s hard to have a passing knowledge on the young players coming through. Apart from Ecripont, there are none regularly on the horizon.
