  1. So if Israel committed genocide on Arabs and didn't want them in Israel. Why are there 2.5 million Arabs - over double pre-1948 numbers - living there now?
  2. In many of the Arabian countries the Jews weren't allowed to leave. The governments wanted them to stay and suffer the riots, looting and violence and be treated like second class citizens. Jews in Syria effectively lived under the same conditions as Jews in Germany in the 1930s and many people in other countries weren't treated much better. Israel actually had to buy the Jews off the governments of certain countries such as Morrocco who didn't treat them as badly. However, within the countries who had invaded Israel in 1948 and in 1967 the Jews were persecuted and many were killed by the government and had to illegally emigrate to Israel or other countries. A lot of these people didn't actually want to leave their homes. It is pretty obvious that 98% of a 1 million strong population would not voluntarily emigrate from an area in a period of 40 or 50 years. Many were forced out and many killed. By comparison the Scottish Jewish population is only about 40% smaller than in the late 1940s.
  3. By ethnic cleansing you of course mean many people choosing to leave. There's more Arabs in Israel now than there was in 1948 so how is that ethnic cleansing? What about the actual ethnic cleansing that took place of Jews in many Arab countries? Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Morrocco, Egypt, Tunisia and Syria had nearly a million Jews in 1948 and now there are less than 20000 in all those countries combined. Jews were treated as second class citizens - if they were lucky - and many were killed for the 'crime' of being Jewish. Of course that doesn't fit in with your narrative does it.
  4. Pretty certain I saw that graph on a BBC article. Think they made it not the IDF
  5. I didn't say they broke it I said they didn't accept it. If they really cared about the civilians they are supposed to govern surely they would accept any reasonable ceasefire? The conditions were that both sides would stop attacking eachother
  6. They specifically rejected the ceasefire. "Announcing Hamas's formal rejection of the ceasefire plan, Abu Zuhri said the outcome of deliberations within the Islamist movement 'was to reject the proposal and, therefore, Hamas informed Egypt last night it apologises for not accepting it.' http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/07/16/us-palestinians-israel-idUSKBN0FI04420140716?utm_source=twitter
  7. Before 2005 Israel had 21 settlements in the Gaza strip but they removed them all and 4 settlements from the West Bank as part of the peace process. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel%27s_unilateral_disengagement_plan In the past Israel also completely withdrew it's settlements from the Sinai Peninsula as part of a peace process with Egypt. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_settlement) Of course the current settlements in the West Bank are not a good thing but surely the way to end the conflict is through negotiations and not rockets? Also remember that on every occasion Israel 'expanded its borders' it has been because its Arab neighbours have invaded with the intention of destroying Israel and driving the Jews into the sea. Israel has defended itself. It has never invaded and taken territory surrounding it.
  8. "Hamas' armed wing, the Izz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades, rejected the ceasefire deal," http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/07/15/us-palestinians-israel-idUSKBN0FI04420140715?utm_source=twitter
  9. Hamas had the chance to accept a ceasfire and refused. If the lives of Gazans were valued at all by their own government then they would have accepted the ceasefire as President Abbas suggested. However, the problem is that Hamas doesn't care about it's own citizens it cares about attacking Israel no matter what the cost to people living in Gaza.
  10. Israel stopped attacks on Gaza yesterday for six hours in an attempt to end the conflict. Hamas fired 123 rockets into Israel in that time which has caused it to escalate further. Why won't Hamas accept a ceasefire? http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/07/15/us-palestinians-israel-idUSKBN0FI04420140715?utm_source=twitter
  11. That last episode with the wee girl wasn't quite as good but still hilarious when they convinced Jim that Adam was a paedo
  12. Disagree with that episode. So much sensless violence and things I don't understand. I'M CONFUSED AND ANGRY!!!!* *This must be what it feels like to be a UKIP voter.
  13. Interesting bit on the Liverpool website to remember Heysel 29 years on. http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/163716-29-years-on-heysel-remembered "Instead of leaving Brussels having seen our team lift a fifth European Cup, Reds fans travelled back to England having witnessed the deaths of 39 football supporters following the collapse of a wall." Apparently the wall was to blame.
  14. I don't understand how any Dunfermline fans can seriously think they aren't going to win the league next season. 63 points was a pretty impressive haul considering the first six months was youngsters and they had a transfer embargo. The last time there wasn't a runaway winner in the division (2009-10) 65 points was enough to win the league. With no Rangers, a full pre-season of being able to sign players and being full-time you'd expect Dunfermline to easily get another 10-15 points on top of that this season and run away with it. The only possible obstacle would be Morton or Peterhead turning into world-beaters but I really can't see it.
  15. Has seen his Scotland side lose in the WORLD CUP SEMI-FINAL to (a very overrated) England side. Tears. Tears everywhere.

  19. Am I the only one who thought this was absolute fucking horse piss? Just like Doctor Who Moffat has ruined it I think. He doesn't write for the enjoyment of fans it's just imaginative nonsense full of gaping plot holes. In Doctor Who he could just explain things off with "timey-wimey bits" but that doesn't really work In Sherlock. Every episode is part of a massive over-arching story line with about 17 twists which got boring the 2nd time he did it in Doctor Who. It's all just done to stroke his ego cause he loves everyone thinking he's so smart and critics love it. In reality anyone could do the same thing if you're willing to just blatantly lie to your audience.
  20. Can't the next few weeks but will be back soon hopefully.
  21. Anyone know what the songs called that has the lyrics "do it like a hurricane" a few times then goes into a great beat. Keep hearing the song but I can't find it anywhere on the internet.
