  1. Thanks for that fp,looks like a good buy,was itching to click on buy but it'll have to wait for just now Is that the same injury as you posted on this page, ankle ligament injuries are a bummer, can take ages to heal properly You working way to hard DD Could be anything from a host of things in that area,i'd see the doc if i were you.
  2. You could do with a Garmin sjc Been looking at some Garmins, christ they aren't cheap are they, have to do a bit of saving to get one,but they look like they would add a bit more interest and fun to my runs.Any recommendations as there's a lot of them out there, preferably with a heart monitor and one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg
  3. Haven't got any of these technological gadgets,do they actually help you improve your running or are they just a lot of data you could work out if you know your time and distance,i think like Reina says they could distract you whilst running. To buy or not to buy And yes,i am a dinosaur
  4. Plenty fairly quiet country roads on your doorstep out by Letham,Carmylle,Redford etc to get you started Have fun Edit-Can't spell
  5. Space ie magnificent, mysterious and mind blowing,i can never understand people who couldn't care less about it,it is what we are. Some of the telescope images are awesome, just wish we knew more about what's out there than we currently do,Would like to come back in a thousand years to see if we are space traveling on a BIG scale, surely must happen, that's if the human race hasn't destroyed itself by then of course Dark matter rules
  6. It's great when it's behind you though, had it more or less at my back on the way home, flew home. It's beginning to feel like spring now,i ride through some countryside on the way home and the rape seed flowers are out and smell great. Almost killed a crow on the way home,it was sitting in some long grass on the cycle path verge unbeknown to me,when it flew out right under my pedal, about shat myself,we both survived though It's getting better
  7. That's quite a long way for you to travel for a 10k,fair play to you, an hours about the limit i'll travel for a 10k Are Falkirk supporters the fittest in Scotland, there's a lot of you on this thread, seems to be a bit of a hub for running
  8. First race of the year tomorrow at the Monikie 10k,hope to hell it aint as windy as last year, almost ground to a halt at times running into it. First race in the super vet catagory, feeling ooooooold.Ran it in 42.20 last year so if it's a decent day expecting better
  9. Done 8 miles this morning, first run for a week or so after a wee injury, what a bloody slog it was,i was breathing through my @rse from the start, wasn't helped by a stiff northerly in the face for 4 miles.I was only a couple of mins slower than usual, but it felt like a lot longer, hope that's just a one off bad run out of the system. Anyone else have runs from hell for no reason? Bring on the spring
  10. Total whiteout in Arbroath
  11. I also had a bit of a cold last week, but i find although i don't feel like having a run, once i'm out and running it does actually give you relief from the cold symptoms during the run and for a while afterwards.Don't know if it's a good idea to run with a cold but it's never harmed me,but if it's more than a cold not a good idea i think. If you had to abort your run perhaps it's a bit more than a cold
  12. It's pretty hard to keep motivated to go out in these freezing conditions, done 8 miles this morning,it took over 4 miles for my fingers to defrost, that was with gloves and a hat on,the breeze was icy as hell. What do other runners on here do when it's like this, head for the gym or grin and bear it outside.
