Didint think we offered much today shagger gets my man of the match for us purely on his work rate.ref was honking today for both teams starting to get a bit worried where the next win is gonna come from....

    Or the next goal?

That was not pretty but was required. Both teams short on confidence but on the balance of play I thought we deserved it. When did the rules change such that grabbing and holding, and continuiing to hold, a shirt in the linesmans line of sight was not a foul?  Maybe when it would result in a  penalty?

Can't gloat because we were bad, but marginally better than Brechin, who really offered nothing up front.

  2. Luke is a signed player believe it or not. Another quality piece of recruitment.
Loan players should be starting players who enhance the first eleven not just squad filler. What a complete waste of time.
Scullion has looked alright in patches but the fact he can't get in the worst team in my lifetime is alarming.

Thought the same yesterday about loan signings. Yesterday, two of the best players on the park were Cowdenbeath’s 9 and 10, both loans. Meanwhile, as you say, our loans aren’t good enough to get in our team. What a waste.
  3. Blimey. How are we so inconsistent. Not just good to bad, but so bad. I thought Anderson and Halleran were our two best players, and neither finished the game, albeit Halleran looked to have taken a knock.

And the comment about the keeper is correct. Second week in a row he is out of his box squaring up to opposition. Does he think it is helping?

Next two are Brechin and Stirling. Still an awful long way to go, but fail to take anything from these games and the writing is definitely on the wall.

  4. Thomas was excellent on Saturday. Harry Paton lite. He has shown flashes of this in pre season. Hopefully he can get a run of games as he appears to have a lot of potential.

As for the game, we did rely on Graeme Smith to pull off a couple of excellent saves in the first half, but it wasn't one way traffic and in actual fact, I thought, was quite an even game. After we scored they certainly had a lot of the ball, without really threatening. It wasn't like the night before watching Russia when goal(s) were inevitable. Having said that, when they went down to 10 men, it seemed like the worst thing that could happen.

We look decent, and that performance built on the previous week against Annan. Hopefully a corner has been turned, but we really need to start winning these games. This was almost our undoing last time in this league, and certainly cost us last season. .

  5. Giving what I'd seen on social media expected a game of hoofball from Stenny, however what I witnessed was a young looking side trying to play some passing football and reverting to the long ball when under pressure. Room for optimism is my view. Gibson showed a bit of class, not afraid to put his foot on the ball and looking for an attacking forward ball if possible. Decent wee Warriors contingent at Galabank who seemed pleasantly surprised at their team. If it was boxing Stenny would have won on points, however it's football and an away point is always a success.

Not sure about the young bit, but otherwise fair comments I think. Annan had a period of sustained pressure after they scored and hit the woodwork either side of half time. Thereafter I think we were the better team and Munro and Hopkirk both hit the frame of the goal, while McGuigan had an almighty miss.
Big improvement on the previous week, but it does feel like pretty much every season where we just don’t do enough to win games and end up drawing too many to make any sort of sustained challenge.
